I've said it all along. This is more or less Ozzie and what he wants this year. This offseason just doesn't seem like a usual KW offseason other than the Teahan addition (still loved that addition especially with the lack of XBH we had... I.E. the lowest in the league). Ozzie got Kotsay back, wanted a speedy/slap leadoff hitter (Pierre), etc.. If we don't win in this crappy weak AL Central (especially with our pitching staff) then Ozzie would/should face some serious heat.

I was gonna say 1 mil was more than I thought was needed for Ramon Castro, who Flowers himself can put up the same numbers at league minimum, but I was going to hold that to myself. We better have a DH soon, cause I was liking the idea of Flowers hitting/rotating at DH and backup.

It's an interesting debate on that. You have guys like Perry, Wilhelm, etc.. who have doctored up the ball, etc.. but put up the numbers, and guys like Rose, Shoeless Jackson who aren't in cause of gambling. The Hall of Fame does have it's flaws in those extents, not to mention the whole steriods era which of course really does help hitters performance. Even if Mark never took any substance to me, he is still not a hall of famer. His numbers besides his homeruns does not scream H.O.F. (then again.. alot of guys who I thought would never get in, have been getting in) whereas take away Bonds 2001-2007 numbers.. he is still a hall of famer and I would still vote for him.

Thome. We need OBP. I don't care which side of the plate they bat, but this team needs OBP. Thome even on the decline gives you a .360 OBP and a .800+ OPS.
