  1. QUOTE(FGarcia34 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) After hearing that Garland turned down a three year deal from the Sox on ESPN Radio last week, it got The Rock thinking. From the lists of players to be traded the main pitching name that sticks out is Barry Zito. Now with Garland likely to leave in 2007, why not deal him now while his stock is the highest its ever been. Adding another lefty to the staff would be a great addition and from what I can tell Billy Beane loves good looking white pitchers (Zito, Mulder, Harden, etc). So I suggest trading Garland for Zito and securing Zito to one of those patented 3 year 20-some million contract, what do you guys think? Zito would demand more money than Garland. Both deserve more than what Burnett (possibly $10 mil/year) and Pavano (roughly $10 mil/year) make. Even crappy Kris Benson makes over $7mil. Sox need to just anty up and pay the guy. Unless we resign Hernandez, Hermanson and Contreras in 2007 we will have $15 mil off the payroll.
  2. I doubt Crede or AJ get that big of raises.
  3. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) This should be pretty interesting... Why do you hope he falls down and breaks his back? That's the only way the Met's will learn.
  4. I hope he falls down at the press conference and breaks his back.

Has anyone heard if Mike Sweeney is available? He could be an option to replace Konerko if Konerko signs elsewhere.
  6. QUOTE(Wanne @ Nov 25, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) a) his back...is it a lingering long term thing B) his arbitration number plus the fact Boras is his agent. c) His propensity for extended slumps. So then why would Texas want him and an injury prone Hernandez?
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 05:17 AM) On Sportscenter they had a report from Peter Gammons and he stated the following: "So now, after having one of the oldest rotations, Boston can trot out Beckett, Jonathon Papelbon and John Lester for the next 6 years and compete with anyone in October." Gammons used to say the same about the Sox and Ruffcorn, Bere, Kip Wells, Fernandez and Alvarez.
  8. I love PK just as much as the next guy but anything more than 4 years and $11 mil/per is not worth it. He is good but he had to dig himself out of huge holes the past three years.
  9. I stopped reading after #1. Your friend is a racist piece of s$%&. Tell him it's more appropriate for them not to speak English since they played in the WORLD series.
  10. Keep your eyes open for the Whitesox aquiring Roberto Alomar (wherever he is).
  11. 1 out and the bases loaded and we score 1 run? This is the most pathetic offense I have ever seen in my life.

Why would you pay someone over $10 million a year to play 60-70 innings. Yeah he's good. No he's not worth it.
  13. Bleacher Ticket to the game = $28 Miller Lite Draft = $7 Hot Dog with Everything = $3.50 Jermaine Dye at the plate: WORTHLESS!! There are some things that money can't buy. For Jermaine Dye, there's waivers.
  14. I'll be there with 9 of my co-wokers. Section 160. Listen for my loud mouth baby!!
  15. We love you Frank. But we don't need you. As the saying goes, "If it's not broke, then don't fix it."
  16. Good job fat ass Uribe. The guy is only good for a sac fly. Everett needs to learn how to field. When Thomas gets back I'd rather have a s***ty hitting Dye playing right then a s***ty fielding Everett.
  17. Excellent starting pitching so far. Garland, keep it going!
  18. COME ON GARLAND!!! YOUR TURN TO STEP UP!
  19. QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) Dustin Hermanson looked great in the 8th. Ozzie lifted him just because Takatsu is the "closer." I've never understood that mentality. I mean, if you have Rivera or Gagne, fine, but no one else should get that automatic call, IMO. This is not a second guess. I was thinking this when Shingo came out there for the ninth. Now the game is tied and I'm not sure what pitchers are left if they need extra innings. Maybe Vizcaino. Hopefully we can win it in the bottom of the ninth so it won't matter. Ozzie has Takatsu on his Fantasy team.
  20. I can't stand the fact that he used Cotts, Politte and Marte in ONE INNING??!! These are Major League pitchers. If they cannot pitch an entire inning then maybe they shouldn't be in the majors. If they are right handed pitchers and can't get out left handed batters then they shouldn't be in the majors. If they are left handed and can't get out right handed batters they shouldn't be in the majors. Not to mention making millions of dollars.
  21. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) Positives: The Sox did some real nice things with the stick today. Contreras pitched his "dark, sweaty" balls off, and the rest of the bullpen guys looked crisp. Negatives: We take a L on the season, question both Ozzie and Shingo, and wear out one of the best arms in the pen. Ah yes, I see were are in mid-season form. One game folks, not the end of the world. On to Minny! 3 run leads in the ninth are the games you must win. Only losers accept losing.
  22. Why would you put Cotts & Politte on your pitching staff and not let them pitch??
  23. Guillen is a dips*** and still doesn't know how to handle the pitching staff. You use 6 pitchers in the 3 run ball game??? Dumbass.
  24. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) South Korean pitcher Sang Ho Moon, 23, pitches as Chicago White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper, left, and General Manager Ken Williams watch, during a free agent tryout at the Chicago White Sox spring training facility in Tucson, Ariz., Tuesday, March 1, 2005. Moon reportedly played professional ball in Korea in 1999 and 2000, and is returning to baseball after a manditory four-year military service obligation. KW: "I think he should have won the oscar for Finding Neverland."
  25. KW: Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.....
