  1. Dr. Pepper sucks. Almost as bad as the worst soft drink ever made, cream soda. Porn? If I can get a 3-some with snookie and jwoww? Hellz yeah. Besides that? Not interested even if it was presented to me. Most porn girls are gross. I couldn't imagine banging a girl that i knew going in that she had taken probably 150 loads in her mouth. Yuck, yuck, yuck.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 05:58 PM) I'll go if somebody pays my plane fare and buys me a seat in the fabled club level or whatever the middle level is called. Kidding. I actually was planning on coming back in August or a weekend in Sept. to see family, hopefully when the Sox are in town. I'm past the days of getting bad seats, though. I'd want to sit in a primo section. I'll do this. But you have to drink (i.e. get drunk) and allow me to record it with my phone. Drunk greg? Oh yes. That's viral stuff right there.
  3. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) I stand corrected. I could read your sig all day, everyday for the rest of my life. Jesus was Frank great. One of the great team sports athletes ever.
  4. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) If you want to be objective, then let's point out some of their bad moves. Stewart for Colvin looks like a terrible move at this point. Concepcion has been an epically bad signing. They've made some good moves, especially Rizzo for Cashner, but let's not pretend they've been perfect. Theo & Jed still have a long, long road ahead of them. We'll see how good they truly are by how quickly the Cubs become competitive again. I said they still have a ways to go. And how is Concepcion an epically bad signing? The kid is 20. Stewart for Colvin looks semi-bad right now. He's been real good at Coors, mediocre everywhere else. He's what 28 or almost? They're not going to miss him in the long-run. At all.
  5. QUOTE (shakes @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) It was a good trade, but I would hardly call it robbery. Vizcaino by most accounts will end up in the bullpen. IF that's the case, when did people start getting that excited about bullpen arms? Even if he ends up in the bullpen...Reed Johnson and Paul Maholm? Are you serious? There's absolutely no risk here and plenty reward to be had.
  6. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 04:12 PM) It's not just a high USG rate that's important, it's also how efficient and productive you manage to be under those circumstances. If you have a high USG rate, naturally the other team is treating you like an offensive threat, that means they're likely putting their best defender on you, they're keying in on you with 2 guys at times, they're always watching you on the court. Can you be efficient under those circumstances? Can you stay on the court for more than 30 minutes per game? Can you draw a large sample size of shot attempts year in and year out, on a consistent basis? That's also why I would rather have Russell Westbrook than James Harden. Westbrooks efficiency is pedestrian, but he has one of the highest USG's in the game and the lowest %ast'd numbers. It tells me he's very, very good at initiating offense and no stranger to beating good defenses. I'd much rather have a guy like that than Harden, who is very efficient but does not usually initiate his own offense and has a very small USG, indicating he mostly goes up against bench guys and teams aren't keying in on him as much. Yeah ok. And if the Bulls signed him you'd be purchasing his jersey online. Harden is a stud. Let it go.
  7. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 04:07 PM) Okay, so this trade isn't that great. Villanueva is a solid prospect, but is only in high A ball and is still a project. He isn't anything special. The Kyle Hendricks guy is a minor league pitcher. I'd be absolutely shocked if he did anything in the majors. He'll be 23 this year, is in high A ball, has a high 80s fastball, and gives up a lot of hits for that level (almost a hit/inning). Lefties are hitting .353 against him. In high A. This trade was fine because they had to get rid of Dempster, but it's meh. The Maholm trade was obviously much better for the Cubs. Christian Villanueva just turned 20 last month. He's more than holding his own. Kyle Hendricks is a minor league pitcher? Really? You could've fooled me. This isn't a steal for the Cubs by any means. All things considered, they did well. My bad. 21. Point still the same.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) @KCJHoop After Nate Robinson signing, Bulls are either done or might add Tracy McGrady. Tracy McGrady? I'm just going to pretend I never saw this.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 03:53 PM) I dunno about that. I bet the Marlins keep him through his entire contract and then they let him go if they haven't made the playoffs. If he gets let go I could see a team like the Royals or Orioles taking him or even the White Sox taking him back if Robin decides he's not wanting to be a manager for 20 years. Robin has assured himself of staying with the Sox as long as he wants from his performance this year. He'll never say anything stupid to get himself fired and he's proven he knows what he's doing. But if he decides to quit in 3-4 years, I could see the Sox turning to Ozzie again, like the Yankees did with Billy Martin. Maybe the Cubs. :lolhitting Damn, greg. I'm not defending you anymore. Ozzie is terrible and I'll switch over to the Cubs before I root for an Ozzie Guillen-managed team again.
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) And I hope they fail gloriously. Of course. I'm just saying if you look at it objectively (aka, not that whatever the cubs do sucks because they're the cubs), he's doing a good job so far. Getting Vizcaino was pure robbery.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) When did Theo acquire the Sun? Ma fault.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) He didn't draft him, but it sounds like Javier Baez is blowing up this season Yup. He's obliterating A ball at 19.
  13. Good deal for the Cubs. Say what you want, but Theo is doin' things. Still a long ways to go. But it's hard not to like what he's assembled so far: Rizzo, Solar, Vizcaino + Texas deal.
  14. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 02:36 PM) No Bulls fan should ever want Lebron James in a Bulls uniform and besides, Derrick would never want to play with him. Then it would be time to trade Derrick Rose.
  15. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 07:46 PM) Let's see how the kid bounces back. Let's not get too paranoid. Really. I'm just tuning in and you would think it was 8-0 twins.
  16. QUOTE (Brian26 @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 06:45 PM) Gospel. And the entire premise of the article is that Kenny buys "low". How the hell were the Rios and Peavy acquisitions "buying low". Those two pickups handicapped Kenny to the point where we had to dump Quentin over the winter and not even offer Buehrle a contract. Very nice. I'm trying to be positive because I like where the Sox are at, at the moment. But KW didn't go from being below average to above in 4 weeks.
  17. Thank god for zoom. Zoom can "hate" and nobody says anything to him. The Bulls are terrible and going nowhere at the moment. They will not get away with what they got away with last year in a normal season. No rose, an injury-prone starting lineup and a considerably weaker bench equals 30 wins.
  18. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 07:01 PM) This is the part you come in and start making unrealistic suggestions for what we should have done? Before Rip Hamilton came here, we had nobody who could even run the floor with Derrick. I was happy we just stopped looking lost on fast break opportunities I'll try to survive I mean, do you just try to build your post count up? Nearly 1100 posts in 6 weeks? 2k5 even said you post too much. Rip Hamilton on the fast break? lol.
  19. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 06:51 PM) It means players who can do things Carlos Boozer and Kurt Thomas can't. Kurt Thomas? Oh my goodness. I'm not talking to you anymore.
  20. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 06:13 PM) He can dunk, he can handle the ball a little and penetrate the lane and either lay it up or draw a foul. He can hit free throws at 80+%. He doesn't have a chicken wing arm that prevents him from ever being a consistent jump shooter. That's already better than Brewer. Defensively, he's not Ronnie Brewer but he's still very good. Stays with his man, challenges shots, doesn't foul much. Did a good job guarding Melo and Wade, wasn't lost or intimidated. Didn't make dumb mistakes. lol. Oh my goodness. What are you talking about? He can dunk? Wow. So can Carlos Boozer. Luc Longley could come out of retirement and you'll try to turn it into a potential positive.
  21. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 06:05 PM) Butler is a real good athlete bro, not sure what you're seeing but... Maybe by college basketball standards. He's got good size. I'm not saying he's going to be a scrub. But he doesn't standout from an athletic standpoint.
  22. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) Nate is an actual NBA PG with years of experience. Lucas is a D league scrub. Nate can penetrate the lane and have some hope of finishing. Lucas cannot. Nate can pass the ball. Lucas can not. Let me just win this one bro, Nate is a much better player (not just athlete) than Lucas. and hell yes Butler is a better athlete than Brewer. What can Brewer do that Butler can't? gmab. Brewer has been one of the better non-starter lock down defenders in the game. He's long, moves well laterally and is just overall a good athlete. Butler? What the hell has he done?
  23. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 05:59 PM) Marco Bellinili is a better athlete than Korver. Butler is a better athlete than Brewer. Nate Robinson is a better athlete than Lucas. I'm a better athlete than wite. That doesn't mean I'm athletic. And butler is NOT a better athlete than Brewer. Nate? You've got dunk contests from 2005 on the brain or something.
  24. As somebody who frequents fangraphs regularly...they don't think much of homegrown relievers. Just saying.
