  1. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) This is one of those comments that causes people to think you troll in this thread. They had a chance. Might not have been a good chance, but they had a chance with a healthy Rose. Not really. Unless you really believed a broken down, 5 years past his prime Rip Hamilton would've been the difference between losing in the conference finals in 2011 and getting to the finals in 2012. If you really believe that, maybe Reinsdorf really is a genius.
  2. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) Wow, reading some of these posts would make you think the Bulls had absolutely no shot at a title the last couple of years, yeesh. That's because they didn't. Once LeBron made up his mind that he was getting his title, that was that. A healthy Bulls (something that doesn't exist, anyway) had no chance at Miami this year.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 05:00 PM) Jordan was paid a lot of money at the end of his run. And he got that back and then some. And I remember Jerry saying something along the lines of "I'm going to regret this later." He inherited the greatest team sports athlete in history. That's it. He stood by and watched the decimation of one of the greatest dynasties in sports history. The Bulls have won 3 playoff series since 1998. That, my friend, is terrible.
  4. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) Things could always be better but they could always be worse as well. I'd like Mark Cuban as an owner, but I fear a James Dolan-type of owner. If Reinsdorf sells the team, what guarantee is there that Bulls would benefit? Even the article in your own link admits that Jerry is not averse to spending big money on the Bulls, we did hand out huge contracts to several players after all. He's said several times that he's willing to go into the tax for a contender. The 6 championships the Bulls won in the 90's don't count? Technically they do. But Reinsdorf had about as much to do with the dynasty as I did. I'll give Krause more credit for those titles than Jerry.
  5. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:02 PM) Reinsdorf brought 1 championship to Chicago... fixed for accuracy.
  6. I don't usually like Kelly Dwyer's pieces. But the one kyyle posted is excellent.
  7. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 05:15 PM) f*** Indeed. More Tyler Flowers isn't a good thing.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:56 AM) If your whole life is your 6 year old daughter and she is dead and you have a chance to get at the piece of s*** who ruined her life and your life, you might risk your own life to beat the tar out of the perpetrator. oh my goodness. greg, have you seen or read any of the witness statements? They all wanted to GET THE f*** OUT. Not get the f*** out and then chase a guy that had just sprayed the place with gunfire. This was a full-blown military-type style assault. You're in a ways criticizing the survivors for not going after the guy (despite the fact the cops were on the scene very quickly anyway).
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:48 AM) I pray you are never victim of a horrendous crime if you've never been held up. There can be intense rage. If you witnessed murder on that night, who knows how you'd react? This guy was crazy enough to do what he did. A victim might just flake out as well and want to punish this lowest form of human being. I take pleasure in knowing this man will rot in a cell 23 of 24 hours of a day the rest of his life. I'm OK now with him not getting the death penalty. Solitary confinement for a nerd like this who prolly lives on the computer will be awesome. You're not feeling any rage at that moment. Your main objective is to survive.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:42 AM) He had orange hair. I think you might be full of rage if your 6 year old child was killed by this bastard. Nobody knew what his hair color was until he surrendered to the cops. If my 6-year old kid gets shot, I'm staying with him/her or trying to get him/her away from the scene or some help. I'm not morphing into the incredible hulk to chase down some guy with that type of firepower.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:32 AM) Yeah but if he killed one of your loved ones and you saw him unarmed you might definitely want to take your chances and rough the bastard up. I think real rage might take over as it should. That's just not at all realistic. If you were in that theater and fortunate enough to have survived, you're going get as far away from the scene as possible. Not to mention that nobody knew what the hell the guy looked like anyway. Multiple witnesses said the guy straight up looked like he was a SWAT officer.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) As a civilian who came across this scumbag, you don't have handcuffs or anything to work with. So wouldn't it be assumed you might have to pound the prick into submission to hold him for the police? I don't see why a guy who got shot at in a theatre could get in trouble for inflicting some damage on the person who did this! lol. greg, the guy had an assault rifle, a 12 gauge shotgun and a glock. Ain't no civilian goin' nowhere near his ass.
  13. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) I HATE THE f***ING YANKEES. Why? The Yankees just added the Japanese Juan Pierre. It's not that big a deal.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 12:06 PM) No, but I probably should have clarified that I'm a cop first Yes, that changes things a little. haha.
  15. Pretty sure milk was kidding about bringing a gun to a movie. lol.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 02:56 PM) And how do you know how she treats him? Maybe she leaves their children in the car in the 100 degree heat while she goes grocery shopping. Maybe she cheats on him with his battery mate. Maybe she is emotionally abusive. From whatever opinions you want, but the fact is, we don't really know these people. Many times you make judgments about people you don't know only to find out you would have never felt that way had you known the entire story. Regardless, I will cheer him on when he is in a White Sox uniform, and be just as happy about the outs he records as those that any of our other pitchers record. And I will cheer just as much. Shack, you are more than have the right to cheer him if you choose. I'm not going to. That's all I've said. I'm not trying to impose my will/opinion on everybody in the thread (that garbage goes on in filibuster). QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) So you won't cheer for a guy that hit his wife on one drunkn occasion six years ago, but you'll openly support a man who enabled and protected a serial child rapist for years? Anyways, despite Myers being a total douche, I think this is a smart baseball move. He is a very good reliever and people saying otherwise are letting his personal issues affect their judgement. He will help stabilize the bullpen and didn't cost much in grand scheme of things. Good move IMO. lol. You lose right there, dude. Far as Paterno, he's dead. We will never get his full side of the story. I have no doubt in my mind that the totality of the entire situation accelerated the death of what was already an elderly man. Paterno is guilty of not doing enough, being naive, caring for a friend (even a sick one), etc. Brett Myers went Mike Tyson on a woman. And if you really think that was an isolated incident aka it never happened before, don't know what to tell ya.
  17. So is reality finally setting in for this team? I've felt for weeks Detroit was going to go on a big run.
  18. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 09:40 AM) From wiki: Everyone knew Everett was a POS when he was here, so let's not rewrite history. Plain and simple, pro-sports are littered with awful human beings. I suggest getting upset about players like Josh Lueke (google the name, see the 4th link down) being able to still play baseball. You know, players who were found guilty of their crimes. I do not care about a person's personal or religious beliefs. I don't care if you're an adulterer or a racist or whatever. I do care about a 6'4, 240 pound man striking his wife in the face multiple times. I will not cheer this scum at all.
  19. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) The 2005 White Sox had Carl Freaking Everett on the roster. I'm sure you hated that team, right? WTF is this? I'm supposed to hate Carl Everett in 2005 for something he eventually did in 2011? lol.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 05:35 PM) Our system is the best, but this case is cut and dried. He is the killer; he did the killing; he was caught; his apartment is boobytrapped, he had the guns by his car, he did the killings. I want this bastard murdered in jail right now. I'm sorry if that makes me a bad person. This f***brain MURDERED a six year old kid who was in the words of her aunt, "excited about life, like all 6 year olds; just started swimming and proud of the fact she could swim." This douchbag mother f***er killed all these people. HE DID IT; everybody knows he did it, no reasonable doubt. KILL HIM. Death penalty. bye bye. Or fellow inmates currently, please get to him and kill him. I understand all that, greg. I'd be totally fine with a live beheading. But the guy will get a legitimate defense. He has that right. I'm sure his lawyers will play the insanity card and I'm not even sure if the dude is competent. You've got to be pretty f***ed up in the head to do what he did. In a case like this, they're no doubt going to keep the guy isolated. So forget about all that death by inmates stuff. Bottomline: there's nothing that anybody can do to him that will be even 5% of what he's done to others. Even if he gets the death penalty, it'll be a lame ass painless lethal injection. That's just the way it is.
  21. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) Its really stupid to speculate on that. Not really. How many times does somebody get caught breaking the law and the offender says it's the first time it's ever happened? GMAB.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 02:43 PM) Yeah, cause I was totally dignifying what he did. You kinda did when you said that because it was 6 years ago that people shouldn't make a big deal about it. And the only reason his sorry ass didn't get jail time is because his wife wouldn't press charges. That was just once incident that happened in public. Who knows how many times he's beat on her in private.
  23. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 02:42 PM) I'd totally hit a woman in the face too. Like if she kidnapped my children and superglued my penis to my stomach and bankrupted me and gave my mother a heart attack. ..... but I digress, if this helps the team then I'm all for it. I idolize Barry Bonds. One of the biggest dicks of all time. But there's a limit.
  24. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 21, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) Even if you're joking that doesn't make you sound much better haha Half joking. But I'd never, ever hit a female.
