AJ is injured

He has a oblique problem. We might need to make a trade for a starting C

Hopefully Flowers can get into a better rhythm with more consistent at bats.

That's the most optimistic you've ever been.

He looked better in the game on Sunday.

Indeed. More Tyler Flowers isn't a good thing.

Ouch. This can be pretty lingering issues. So I guess this is why he wasn't playing. I wonder when it happened. He looked alright whacking that double yesterday. Maybe he's got a bruise from when he was HBP yesterday?

Sore ribs or a strained oblique?

Any catchers on the market? I'd like to see the Sox get Salty, even if AJ is ok in a few days

That is a pipe dream, Boston likes Salty

Slight strain makes me think trade talk is an over reaction

Williams shouldve been looking for a backup catcher anyway. Flowers is terrible.

I might be overconfident, but if it is for a few games, I'm fine with Flowers. I still think he can be a league average starting catcher. Defensively he's made great strides and offensively he doesn't exactly have the type of low maintenance swing bench players need.

I think this is being blown out of proportion. AJ said he can catch fine, he just can't swing right now. I bet he is back before this weekend.

Hopefully he's back at 100% in a few days, because if this is a prolonged or lingering injury, "This season is ovah!"

He wasn't gonna play tomorrow probably with a 100-degree day game, and Thursday is an off day. Right now it lookes one missed game for him and 3 days to rest. I wouldn't start worrying until the weekend.

I hate it.

Hawk..."You're darn right, I had an oblique pull for six years, kept me from making the Red Sox Hall of Fame."

Poor AJ. I wouldn't expect Flowers to do much the first 3-4 games in the lineup. He has to be full of rust. He plays so little.

If he can't swing, DL him. At least Flowers is better behind the plate.

A.J. swung just fine last night...

Since Seattle is in sell mode ask them about Olivo would be my suggestion...

I heard he pulled it closing down The Continental.

His OPS is 9 points higher than Tyler Flowers'
