  1. Warriors chokin' on a fat one. Looks like the pressure has finally gotten to them. They'll have to win out now to top the Bulls.
  2. QUOTE (Boogua @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) Lebron posted up the whole series and sucks, but took them to 6 games. He played with two bigs that can't shoot threes and two smalls that were mediocre shooters. Jordan would be fine. LeBron also shot below 40% for the series (obviously missing his 2nd and 3rd options didn't help). I'm just saying it would be different and he/they would have to adjust. Assuming, of course, that were playing without illegal defense. This is why i say 20 years is too big a gap.
  3. QUOTE (Boogua @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) They'd still want to shoot deeper 3s. The shorter line would ultimately hurt spacing a bit and the physicality would definitely hurt them a lot. The bulls with Rodman at the 5 could switch every pick and roll also. Iggy, Green and Barnes would unquestionably benefit from a shorter line. When Dennis Scott and John Starks are breaking 3-point records you know there's a reason for that. The Warriors, after being down 2-1 to the grizzlies, won games 4, 5 and 6 by 17, 20 and 13 points. And after being down 2-1 to the Cavs they won games 4, 5 and 6 by 21, 13 and 8 (jr smith hit like three 3's in the last minute to make that game 6 score respectable). The warriors obviously made their adjustments and trounced both teams after being down.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 12:13 PM) Doesn't need much. Give him an inch, he'll take a mile. I didn't mean Jordan couldn't post up at all. He'd be the best post-up guard in the game. But in 1996, you could clear out one side of the court and let him go to work. If you doubled, in 1996, you had to actually double. No inbetween. Now you can flood the strongside without hard double teaming and not get called for illegal d. That's why spacing, ball movement and shooting is so much more important in the modern game. I know you know this. just reiterating.
  5. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) Er, that's highly debatable. Bulls wouldn't sweep like Scottie said, but it'd be a blood bath of a series. The second dynasty Bulls Kay be the most well constructed team in history to take down the Warriors? You would have to bench Longley completely. He would be worthless in a series like this. Rodman at the 5 and Kukoc at the 4 would be the way to go. I think defensively they would be fine, though challenged, more so than any team they saw at that time. Offensively it gets a little bit trickier. Rodman, Kukoc, Pippen, Jordan and Harper: where's the outside shooting? where's the spacing for jordan to post up or pippen to slash consistently against the top defenses of today? remember, no illegal defense. you can cheat, shade, sag, etc today without being called for illegal defense. QUOTE (Boogua @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 11:41 AM) With 90s rules, the Bulls likely sweep. Today's rules and the Bulls win in 5 or 6 probably. So the Warriors get a short 3-point line to play with? This is something that's rarely discussed. The Bulls feasted on the shorter line that year. The splash brothers with a 22 foot 3 point line? Yikes.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 08:07 AM) Doesn't bother me. Just glad the douches from Miami never came close. GSW is likable and may not even win the title. Aldridge is putting up his prime Portland numbers in the last 25-30 games or so. Combine this current version of LA and The Claw with the rest of that team? I know I tend to exaggerate at times. But this year's WCFs could be the best in nba history.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 07:10 AM) It's really going to piss me off if the Warriors best 72-10 given how much better that Bulls team was, but now that you can't defend guards two otherworldly shooters can hit tens of 3s a game. Whee. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) This Warriors team is much better than the Bulls team from the past. Reality shouldn't piss you off. 20 years is just too big a gap when comparing teams from different eras. Maybe 10 years and you can do it. 20 is just too much. The game today is straight unrecognizable from 1996. Better or worse is opinion. Different is undeniable.
  8. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 2, 2016 -> 09:42 PM) Kevin Donovan doing it right now with the Thunder. That's Billy Donovan. And gmab. He inherited a 7-foot cheat code and a cyborg that racks up triple doubles like I rack up vodka bottles. 50+ wins was a certainty. Problem is the Thunder are no closer to a title than they were with Brooks. Their offense is predictable and their defense is atrocious.
  9. Eastern conference is definitely on the comeup.
  10. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) Will never bet against a Pop coached team. I've made my Thibodeau love known on this site for his brilliant defensive strategists, but the one guy who is even a step above him is Popovich. True. Thing is, the Spurs aren't even all that athletic. The Claw and Simmons are their only above average athletes.
  11. Spurs put on a defensive clinic tonight. Held the Warriors to 79 points. They had Steph shook. The 2016 WCFs will more than likely be the GOAT series.
  12. Been watching First Take for about four years now and this is the absolute first time that anything White Sox related has been talked about on the show in that time. The Cubs are locked and loaded for a trip to the World Series. The White Sox? #drakegate So embarrassing.
  13. Cavs better hope Boston, not Miami, is the 4-seed. Miami/Cleveland second round would be VERY interesting.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 08:09 AM) @RosenbergMerc 9h9 hours ago Shooting % this year Curry from halfcourt: 37.5% Harden from 3: 34.3% Carmelo from 3: 32.1% Westbrook from 3: 29.7% LeBron from 3: 28.7% Oscar Robertson is not impressed.
  15. Lakers givin' it to the Warriors. Biggest regular season upset in history?
  16. Bucks might be questionable. But nobody can convince me the Bulls have flopped worse than the Rockets.
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 1, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) The Bulls might be the most disappointing team in the NBA. Rockets You can throw the Bucks in there as well. Then the Bulls.
  18. 129 points allowed? #facepalm Just miss the damn playoffs and get the lotto pick. Also, no reason to watch the Warriors tonight.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 28, 2016 -> 12:56 AM) That would probably be the only way to really slow down the Warriors on offense at all. Of course they area also fantastic on D and if you let Thompson, Iguodala, and Draymond Green handcheck they would be a monster defensively. This always gets overlooked. Whenever some OCF or 80's/90's nutgrabber gets into 'zo my god, back then you could literally pick up an ax and chop the head off of anybody who dare come into the lane, etc' yet it's totally ignored that the players of today who are already undeniably bigger, stronger, faster and more athletic by a considerable margin would have those same (mostly exaggerated) advantages. You want to let the Claw (Kawhi), who's hands are as big as Shaq's, handcheck? LeBron, an NFL tight end's body, with the speed and quickness of a WR handcheck and knock you out of the air if he chose to? Paul George? A bigger, longer and equally as athletic Scottie Pippen? You want to give Andre Drummond, with all his freakish physical gifts, the freedom to pulverize anybody that come into the paint? Please. The game was atrocious from '94 to '04. It was slow and ugly. A s***load of iso play and post-ups. Girth and strength had taken precedent over speed and quickness. The nba did what needed to be done and I applaud them. It took a few years, but the league adjusted, defensively, thanks to TT and others. Now I'd say the offenses are slightly ahead of the defenses. But it will probably be totally different 2-3 years from now when the defenses re-adjust. You could say what you will about the nba, but what they did before 2005 saved the game. All you have to do is google the 2004 playoffs. I don't ever want to see that trash again.
  20. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Feb 27, 2016 -> 10:55 PM) Fifteen years from now, Steph will be saying the same thing about the guys in the league in 2031. Every generation thinks they were better than the current generation. It's been different this year. Even guys not that far removed from their playing days are going full retard. Stephen Jackson said the '07 Warriors could beat these Warriors.
  21. Steph just told Oscar Robertson, isaiah thomas, rip hamilton and every other jealous, old, outdated, crusty fart to taste his asscrack. If he doesn't win the mvp unanimously there needs to be a criminal investigation. Feds, u.s. marshals or whoever. 73 -9 is done deal at this point.
  22. nba2k can't even keep up with steph curry - forcing them to make changes to next year's game. http://m.ign.com/articles/2016/02/24/nba-2...t-stephen-curry
  23. QUOTE (Dunt @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) B/c I'm a big Cubs naysayer on this board? Dont be so defensive, your team will still be good whether or not these FA acquisitions pan out or not. Don't get mad at me that it took them less than 4 years to build a powerhouse. 97 wins is their floor. Wouldn't be surprised if they won 100-105 games.
