QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) Completely disagree....they should have landed a top 1-2 rotation pitcher with all the resources they had available. Also not a fan of the Zobrist acquisition with his AWFUL defense last year. And then everybody here would be saying "hahahaha, the cubs will be paying Price 30 million when he sucks in the playoffs, etc" Zobrist's D was bad last year, but absolutely stellar prior to that. I need to see more than one bad year (yes, he's older) before determining he's truly slipped in that area.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) Kinda blows my mind that the Cubs got #1 in his rankings. Nearly $300 million for a really nice RF, an old 2B, and an old SP. The Cubs cocksmoking is real. Stop it. If this were anybody but the Cubs you wouldn't be saying anything. The Cubs absolutely had an A+ offseason and everybody know it.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Feb 21, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) I remember how FO was pretty insistent that Ray Clay announce Jordan as he would any other visiting player during Jordan's first game back to the UC with Washington. They let him go after that season due in part to that IIRC...

Anthony Davis went 2000 Shaq on Detroit I see.

They can't lose anymore than 1 more game the rest of their trip, imo, to have a shot. And it's going to be tough. They've got the Clippers, who have been killin' it without Blake, tonight. Then they've got the Hawks, Heat, Magic and Thunder.

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) You'd been banned a long time ago in plenty other forums. Stop taking your frustration of the FO on other posters. If your intention is to get other's approval of your opinion (which seems to be the case), do yourself a favor and just stop. If you want to have Garpax fired, maybe start a petition or write JR a fan mail. Constant negative posts on the internet isn't going to accomplish anything. This. I detest the Bulls FO. They're boring, outdated, limp dick in a viagra era, etc. But ozzfest is just annoying now.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 09:42 PM) It's lottery protected, but it's a pick nonetheless. Jimmy Butler wasn't drafted in the lottery, look at him now Well, if in three years the Grizzlies draft a Jimmy Butler type then so be it. The Clippers are trying to win a title. Chris Paul is not 22. He's 31.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) They still possibly gave up a first round pick, that is something...maybe. And the Bulls piss me off more than anyone, no need to tell me that. The pick is lottery protected. 90% it's going to turn out to be nothing.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 09:23 PM) They improved their chances from 0 percent to win the title to 0 percent to win the title. They got better without giving up anything. The Bulls haven't done that since 1995.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) Lol. You and your platitudes That golden state squad isn't so bad Bogut sucks though. And I did say might.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) Good luck with that Clippers. Do you realize how atrocious Stephenson has been the last year and a half? And the pick, from what I'm reading, is lottery protected in 2019. In other words, they gave up absolutely nothing and got a nice upgrade at their weakest position. Jordan Griffin Green Redick Paul That might be the best starting 5 in the game.

What is your favorite ballpark food?
Jordan4life_2007 replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My favorite ballpark food is ballpark food. I eat everything in site when I go to a game. -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 16, 2016 -> 09:36 AM) His absolutely despicable owning of a couple of posters who shall remain nameless? He did cyber violate a poster a few years back. Can't remember his name. I did call DCFS.

I would like to make a formal complaint against Quinarvy as well. I just can't think of anything at the moment. But yeah, Ozzfest was overdoing it. That KG quote is like 40 years old.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 09:46 PM) The intensity level in this game has been bad for a long time but this has been unwatchable. Usually when a team gets down big they pick up the effort a little bit to try to make a game of things but that hasn't happened at all. I figured with it being Kobe's last one that guys would be a little more hype. Jordan's last one in '03, man, that was a battle. Guys were really competing. AI, T-mac, Kobe, Kg, etc.

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 08:34 PM) How could anyone watch this crap? Why would anyone pay $500 a ticket to watch this live when it's not even real basketball. This is worse than the pickup games at my gym. No one is even trying. Carmelo looks so fat and lazy out there. Kevin Hart could go out there and get 20.
-
ok I can't watch this trash. Everybody knows i'm pro new school. But this is straight embarrassing.
-
I know little-to-no defense is played in most all-star games. But good god. Both teams are probably gonna surpass 80 points by halftime.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 10:48 AM) Well, part of it is they've had the benefit of having Jordan and Wilkins and Dr J and Vince Carter come before them. They've grown up practicing dunks that Jordan and Wilkins popularized 30 years ago. I'm sure the next generation will see what went on last night and practice those dunks and find ways to improve on them. Fair enough. I'll stop here. I don't want to get into another internet war with Boogua/Mex on 80's/90's vs today.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 10:34 AM) If that's your thing, yeah, hard to argue. Me, I'll take Dr J and Mike. Maybe I'm just old. haha. That's fine. I'll be 33 in August. This is certainly not "my generation." But i'm sorry. Athletically, what these kids do today dwarfs past generations. I don't know if there's steroids or something in the food/water or whatever. But it's not even close.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 10:16 AM) Well if you are voting strictly on athleticism, it's hard to say these guys aren't topping those dunks of their predecessors. But if you go back and watch Jordan's dunks, he displays a level of artistry or style about most of his classic dunks that these guys don't have. Watch Jordan's last dunk in the '88 contest. Watch it in slo-mo and notice the subtle position of his feet, how he pumps his arm, etc. On his dunks from the side, he elevates and hangs, he'll rock the ball in his arm, etc. It's not just this explosion where he's merely trying to pull off an athletic feat...he's doing it with a style and artistry and these guys just don't match, IMHO. So are you saying that Lavine/Gordon's dunks were more impressive/better but Jordan's "artistry", not the actual dunks themselves, sets him apart? I'm kinda confused. Me personally, I don't give a s*** about artistry in this case. Gordon was practically sitting down mid-air with his head at the damn rim and went under his legs. I'm sorry. No amount of "artistry" measures up to that.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 09:58 AM) So I went back and watched Lavine and Gordon's dunks. Incredible athleticism. I'll stick with Jordan's artistry though. Not sure what this means. But I saw at least 4 dunks last night that were better than any of Jordan's best dunks.
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 14, 2016 -> 07:41 AM) b/c of this post, i went and look it up on youtube. wow, gordon dunks were the best i have ever seen. you are correct in that statement. it was funny watching the judges expression on a couple of those dunks. LaVine had this guilty look on his face after he won. He even knew Gordon should've won (or at least should've tied). Next year's contest: Gordon Lavine Who cares Who cares
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 13, 2016 -> 09:37 PM) So that dunk contest... That final round was just sickkk.. I don't know what these athletes are on.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 10, 2016 -> 08:55 PM) They'll make the playoffs. I bet they go on a nice little run sometime in March that gets everyone super excited. IDK. the east is much better (not saying a whole lot, but it's clearly better) than the last few years. We'll see where they're at when Butler gets back.
