QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 12, 2015 -> 01:44 AM) Can't see that point of view? I see both sides easily And greg's side is retarded. if the White Sox were on the verge of clinching the second wc would you say to yourself, "damnit. this sucks. I don't want a shot at the playoffs unless we win the division."
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2015 -> 11:32 PM) I have a sneaky feeling Cubs will get beat pretty good in the one game wildcard at Pittsburgh. Only hope for Cubbies is to play that thing in Wrigley. I am not a big fan of the one-game Wildcard. As a Sox fan, I'm not even crazy about that. I want to win the division or not make the playoffs at all. The one-game WC is bad for baseball IMO. One game?? Give me the division title and a real playoff series or give me nothing. What in thee f*** is this?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) Addison Russell for Jeff Samardzija....smh You watch more Cubs baseball than any non-Cubs fan I know. Is it absurd to think Russell will be their best player when it's all said and done?
-
The White Sox win the division in 2002, 2003, 2004 and probably a couple other years I'm forgetting if they could've done exactly what the Cubs are doing this year: skullf*** bad teams.
-
Who the hell said they'd take Arrieta over Sale long-term? Arrieta > Sale this year. That's all.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) It's pretty sad how some people can't give a pitcher credit pretty much because of what team he plays for. Has given up zero runs in 6 of his last 7 starts. Doesn't matter who he is pitching against, that is incredible. No cheap solo homers, nothing. I kinda want the Cubs to get to the WS just to see the board implode. lol. I can't believe how many people here have the Cubs living rent free in their heads.
-
QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 08:32 PM) If that were the case, then why would he even beat out Grienke in voting? Grienke has a lower ERA, WHIP, and better win percentage. Like I said before, ZERO chance Arrieta beats out Harper. That has nothing to do with Cubs hating. http://mobile.sportingnews.com/article/465...w.google.com%2F The Dodgers are stacked. Nobody had the Cubs being this good this year. Arrieta is the main reason. I said could. He probably won't win it. But it's not ridiculous and if he keeps this up through Sept?
-
Sub-2 era. Playoff team. We've seen multiple pitchers win mvp recently. get off your cubs-hating high horses.
-
QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) MVP??? LOL Yes, their rotation is garbage 3-5. Bullpen is ok. Bunch of kids (though very talented) on offense. Arrieta has put the team on his back and should be the favorite in the play-in game.
-
Arrieta could be the CY and MVP. He's been that good. That pitching staff without him is gross.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 2, 2015 -> 06:08 PM) Bah, they weren't giving up any of their young players yet and that's a decision they made long ago. Even with the Nationals example I can't really criticize for sticking to your plan. Price, Arrietta, Lester looks a lot better next year and doesn't even cost them a draft pick. Agree with all of this.
-
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Sep 2, 2015 -> 05:52 PM) Really good discussion about the Cubs starting pitching problems on the Score. Play in Game Arrieta Game 1 - Lester Game 2 - BAD This is the only downside of them being a year ahead of schedule.
-
QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 05:25 PM) Cubs acquire Austin Jackson from Mariners. More Cubs brilliance. They add solid pieces without dipping into their farm system cache.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 07:29 AM) Congrats. Toronto seems to have fully caught Jays fever, should be a great atmosphere They're must-see right now. I never knew how much I missed a truly potent offensive club. All this damn pitching and s***.
-
QUOTE (almagest @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) Jays killing the Tigers right now 15-1. Encarnacion 3 home runs 9 rbi. Best offense (post-tulo) I've ever seen.
-
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 11:06 AM) It was more of a point that the Cubs hitters are good in the sense they destroy s***ty pitching like they should. But they are too young to be considered an elite offense. Throw Bum or Kershaw at the Blue Jays... most likely different results. Whoever said the Cubs offense was elite right now? That'll come in 2017. And the Blue Jays have the best offense of the post steroid era.
-
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 02:34 AM) Of course the Cubs get shut down by good pitching. Their hitters are young and easily dispatched of. Bumgarner/Kershaw are the two best pitchers in the world. Lots of teams would get shutdown.
-
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 07:35 PM) Rodney is on fumes like Soriano earlier. So is Dan Haren. They're already a playoff team, but they're throwing s*** at the wall and seeing what sticks without giving up anything from their still strong farm system.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 05:25 PM) Kyrie might be out until January They'll be alright with Mo Williams. Lighter workload could be good for Irving anyway.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 05:12 PM) If people made a Nats/pirates/twins/Yankees dedicated thread in this forum, we would let it exist just the same. Threads sink or swim based on interest. Obviously a few posters keep this one floating. If you don't like it, don't post. No big deal Did anybody complain about this thread from '09 through '14? Doubt it.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 04:46 PM) Rizzo is far from a bust. Pretty sure he was being sarcastic. #cubsfever
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 07:53 PM) Why what Where did your sickness come from? I knew you always hated the Cubs. But this is some weird s*** you're on. I would never let a sports team affect my life to that degree.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 06:37 PM) If/when the Cubs win it all, it's going to take away a lot of the passion I have for baseball. Right now, really the only two things I care about during a season are the Sox winning and Cubs not winning. If the Cubs win it all, I can't even picture myself following the NL anymore. The Sox winning it in 2005 took away a significant amount of my worries of Cubs winning WS/Sox not winning WS during my life. I wouldn't mind not having to deal with the Cubs winning a WS though, as I think it would be a very bad day for the Sox organization in terms of future fans. You got it bad, dude. Get ready to give up baseball soon.
-
Four 4-game sweeps before September. Crazy. As good as Bryant/Ruth are, their two best players will be Soler and Russell.
-
I'll never get over losing this year. Not just for the White Sox but baseball in general.
