QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 03:16 PM) My thoughts exactly. Dude was born in 1999. wtf? lol. I feel older than all hell.
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 03:13 PM) My 16th birthday was Thursday. What if Sale were pitching then (if it weren't an off day) that would have been crazy
-
QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 03:10 PM) But striking out 20 doesn't happen every day. In fact it's only ever happened 3 times in baseball history. Now that would be special. True. Striking out 20 is much more impressive than a no-hitter post-2010.
-
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) Would you really want him to be pulled in the 8th or 9th inning with a no-hitter going just because of a pitch count? Dude, there's been, like, 47 no-hitters/perfect games in the last five years. It's not even a big deal anymore.
-
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 11:36 AM) Here is hoping that Sale is the ace today. We need the win so as not to be the butt of Cubs celebrating and also to stay in the WC hunt

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) Lol...I'm guessing this is targeting me, although I'm not surprised you can't remember the name of your favorite baseball team with all the Cubs dick-sucking of late. Seriously though, I hate the internet because little b****es like yourself can talk big and there are no consequences. Just keeping churning out stupid prediction after stupid prediction and nothing changes. I just hope if you ever leave your little computer, someone holds you accountable for the bulls*** that repeatedly comes out of your mouth. ooops. Don't know how I got your name so mixed up. But really, go play poker and get laid. You're wayyyyyyyyyyy toooooooo obsessed with me. #glennclose

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) If you guys didn't see, LeBron is putting 1100 Akron kids through college at the University of Akron. The tuition cost would be roughly $41.3M. It's not out of pocket supposedly (he has an agreement with the school) but DAMN if that isn't amazing thing by him. I'll always sports-hate him, but holy s*** he really is an amazing person. Nope, the Decision. Can't ever let that go. Run your coach off? Cheat on your wife? Punch teammates in the face? Call a guy YOU drafted a flaming f***ing f*****? Gambling to the point you may have gotten your father wacked? That's ok.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 09:14 PM) btw when did it become taboo to be a Cubs hater? I've been a proud Cubs hater as long as I can remember and all of a sudden I can't hate on them because they have a good front office and a plan that has come together without fault (save Baez and Almora). Too much cub-hater hate on this board recently You see how chitownsportsfan is obsessed with me? You would think I hurt one of his kids. lol.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) I don't need to. It's a fact. And none of those years have a thing to do with the Cubs now and into the future. Their FO and scouting are elite.
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 09:02 PM) Exactly. They haven't won s*** in over 100 years. You hold on to that.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 08:59 PM) And when they add a top FA pitcher like Price this offseason...yuck. It's horrifying how everything has come together for Theo and company. It really all started by getting Arrieta and Strop for a crappy pitcher. Or when they got Rizzo for trash.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 08:53 PM) god forbid they start winning WS's...Sox will lose an entire generation of potential fans QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) If they win one it will be unbearable rest of our lives. 2005 will not mean anything again. They'll win one by 2018. Guaranteed.

Cubs might be the second best team in the NL and most of their core group has green dicks. What happens when Soler's and Russell's offense catches up to their D? My goodness. At least with the Cubs arrival we can bump a damn hockey team from being the class of the city.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 13, 2015 -> 05:27 PM) Nobody cares, you can't talk trash about Paul Pierce and Ty Lawson and then be like "OMG THEY SIGNED RICHARD JEFFERSON" Put Pierce and Lawson with LeBron and I'd hype them up too. #wegotBobbyPortis
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 13, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) Richard Jefferson sucks. He shot 43% from deep last year. That and don't be awful defensively is all they really need from him.
-
I've seen enough. The Blue Jays are the best team in baseball and the Mets have the best starting staff I've ever seen.
-
QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 09:59 PM) More of a sure thing? I don't believe in "sure things". There are too many unknown variables. I also enjoy seeing you bash the other additions while using Mo Williams and Richard Jefferson as part of what makes the cavs "a lock." Insane. This is obviously going nowhere. When Lebron likely loses in the finals again you can come back this time next year to call the cavs a lock once again. You said the top 5 in the west would be favorites in the east. make up your mind. and lebron might lose again. i won't hold it against him. MJ, bird, thomas, they'd all lost to this western conference as well.
-
QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) Well you showed me. Shouldn't have to go into detail. The Cavs are world champions with kyrie and love last year. Those two healthy + Mo Williams and Richard Jefferson is pretty much a lock. but the clippers added lance stephenson and his 8.8 per, 39 year old paul pierce and josh smith. The rockets added an alcoholic who needs the ball in his hands (james harden kinda needs the ball too) and kevin durant is coming off a lost season due to multiple foot surgeries. But yeah, they're all more of a sure thing than Cleveland.
-
QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) The Clippers had statistically the best starting 5 last year. The problem was they had no depth. They added Lance, Pierce, and Josh Smith. The Rockets made it to the WCF with no PG and Montiejunas hurt. They get Beverly back and added Ty Lawson for nothing. OKC is OKC. If they're healthy, they're stacked. You can disagree with me all you'd like, but please don't act like what I said was out of the realm of possibility. And none of the three are better than a healthy Cavs team.
-
QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 09:02 PM) The west is just insane. Those top 5 teams would all be my favorite to come out of the east. Why do you have the Grizzlies getting so much worse? Also, Utah came on pretty strong late last year, but I guess they lost Exum. I can't see them only winning only 30 games though. Everything else looks pretty good though. I'll give you Warriors/Spurs. The other three is just you LeBron hating. The Cavs were the best team in the league from February until the Love and later on the Kyrie injury. They've got the same team with even more depth now (I'll assume TT signs at some point).
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 07:46 PM) Holy s***, someone get this dude some wet wipes... You're more obsessed with me than Glenn Close was with Michael Douglass in Fatal Attraction. First step - admit you have a problem. Second - get help!
-
The Blue Jays are on some X-box s***. Be afraid american league.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 11:38 AM) 80% shot right now, and then they have to win a road game to continue. The way I see it... The Cubs played the game the last 4 years. They took their lumps, they have smart people running their organization, they have a brilliant manager, and they're going to be a winning team for the next several years. If you have animosity toward them and want them to lose, wait til October, because that's where they'll be most of the next 6 years.
-
Just when you thought it was safe to build your dynasty. The Cubs have arrived. At least a year early.
-
I actually envy 2k5. I wish I could just love the White Sox because they're my team and they're the White Sox. The '06 collapse just bothers the f*** out of me. If they could've just gotten in they would've rolled though everybody. And since then? Good god.
