  1. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 28, 2015 -> 04:23 PM) That's all I could think of too. You have a fellow pitching that is a #1 or #2 starter on about any team and it's like with the snap of a finger he disintegrated.
  2. Thunder are going to get a really good player. Not bad considering they're a top 3 title contender next year.
  3. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 07:24 PM) Sick value for Denver. Yup. Now they have even more leverage now in any potential trade involving Lawson.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 07:22 PM) I love Cauley-Stein but hate that pick. Kings are a mess. I agree. Wayyyy too high.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 07:06 PM) The "assumption" part i mentioned referred to Embiid. I agree with the Sixers having a lot of talent QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 07:06 PM) Embiid may never play, lol Oden. Philly had to take Okafor. i'm in denial when it comes to embiid. I just want him to be healthy SOOOOO bad.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) I wouldn't assume that. But they still can be much better Nerlens/Okafor will be deadly next year. Sixers could make the playoffs (yeah, i know, the east) just off those two.
  7. hahaha@phil and the knicks. Sam Hinke is an OG. The Sixers collection of assets is now unprecedented. assuming Embiid is ok.
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) I think Okafor is going to be by far the best player in this draft. I still think it's funny the knock on him is his defense yet thay never ever gets brought up for Towns. It's so bizarre. lol. maybe because that's because Towns was a beast defensively in college and projects so at the next level?
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 25, 2015 -> 11:25 AM) Cousins has a chance to be an absolute monster. Hell, he already is. Just yesterday on the score they mentioned his 24-12 season stat line, he has done that twice already and he is in truly elite company and he is only 24 years old. If he could ever stop fouling so much his line would more than likely be better.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 07:50 PM) Steve Kerr has a great team. That is why he is a champion. Thanks for the analysis, Hawk. Now back to Beverly Hills 90210. Does Kelly pick Brandon or Dylan? #90's
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 06:17 PM) Bah, Phil Jackson is likely to fail miserably at this job because it's incredibly hard to take a basketball team and turn it around after years of losing. That could be true. But the fact he still thinks it's 1995 sure as hell won't help.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 06:01 PM) He's right you know. Actually, he's terribly wrong. And thinking like this is why he's going to fail miserably at his new job. Steve Kerr realizes it's 2015. And that's why he's a champion.
  13. Not sure about Alexei. But the loss of qwerty/Kalapse has GREATLY affected me. Haven't been right since.
  14. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 08:14 PM) Bigs that can't shoot are much harder to exploit ala Tony Allen. Lots of bigs still can't shoot. I don't think they would play Scottie like Tony Allen. I guess they could try to play him the way the Cavs played Iggy, but that didn't work for too long. ok, and what if he's not in a funk against the bulls? Then what? He (green) can hit that shot (thus creating space for Curry/Thompson).. Charles Oakley, Rick Mahorn, and Kurt Thomas couldn't hit 3's under any circumstance.
  15. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) What? Jeez, dude, you must have me confused with someone else. Maybe you should leave emotion out of YOUR sports fandom. I'm looking at the Cubs situation, just like everyone in baseball (including the Cubs) looks at the Cubs' situation. He's pretty much not an outfielder; they have Rizzo (you like HIM, right?) at first. So Schwarber's going to catch, displace Rizzo, or perhaps be trade bait. That's it. This is not a surprise. If you've followed the Cubs like you claim you have, then you know that Theo's whole plan is to gather as many hitters as possible (the most valuable commodity in baseball today) and then sort it out later. Some will make it, some won't, some will be traded for pitching. Or did you miss the part where they traded for Addison Russell even though they already had Starlin Castro and Javy Baez? Lol. so basically, one of (if not the best) hitting prospects in baseball can only be traded to the al or for pitching because he has nothing but DH in his future? #stopIT.
  16. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 08:06 PM) Uh, I didn't say anything about the Cubs upcoming "sustained run of excellence." I said that Kyle Schwarber is a helluva hitting prospect who may not be able to play a position -- which is exactly the scouting report on him a year ago. That means he can be an absolutely devastating DH, which means, at the least, he has immense trade value for half the teams in baseball. He MAY be able to catch at some point, but even the Cubs know that he can't right now. Reading. A skill. No, you're pigeonholing Kyle Schwarber because he's a Cub. If he were a Cardinal you wouldn't be doing that. I can't believe grown men can't leave emotion out of their sports fandom.
  17. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 08:06 PM) If he's shooting that percentage you absolutely can leave him open. The cavs did it quite a bit throughout the series and Draymond was often scared to take the three. As someone who was rooting for the Warriors, I was getting irritated. Draymond Green "stretching" the floor didn't stop the Cavs bigs from dominating the boards. Also, the Cavs just played extremely ISO heavy and took GS to six games. The defense in the 90s was straight up man or basic double because zones were illegal (although look at a team like the sonics or early 90s Knicks teams and they had some zone principles). Zach Lowe often talks about how the Bulls were one of the first small ball teams. They could run a Rodman-kukoc-pippen-Jordan-Harper lineup out there and just switch on everything. Lowe is a huge proponent of today's game too, so I assume you like him (or would like him). Except Rodman (who wasn't a threat offensively at all sans offensive boards) and Harper couldn't shoot for s*** and Scottie was inconsistent as a shooter at best. That lineup would get exposed badly in the modern game.
  18. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 08:00 PM) Kyle Schwarber . . . home run. Looks good up there, really good. Also, not a chance he can stick in the outfield, competently. So, if he can't play catcher (and he can't yet), he's strictly a DH. They don't have those in the National League. So this will be interesting. So I guess he can't play MLB then? lol. Stop. a sustained run of excellence is approaching.
  19. I feel so sorry for pro-scouts that have to determine who the hell can translate to the pros and who can't. Kristaps Porzingis, from everything I've read seen, is the best player in this draft. But I know that probably won't be the case in three years.
  20. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 05:56 PM) The two teams that slowed the pace down (Memphis and Cleveland) had the most success against GS both taking the series to 6 games. That's what I found most interesting. Hack a Shaq would be interesting, but Golden State relies on tempo and rhythm for their jumpshots. Also, Draymond can drain away as he shot 26.4% from 3 in the playoffs (including 25.7% against Memphis who play 2 big slow guys at the 4 and 5). The point being, Rodman would still have to guard him 23+feet away from the hoop. Doesn't matter if he's bricking. He can't just leave him wide open. Like I said, it's just a totally different game now. The 90's offensively was iso-heavy and on defense it was play either straight up man or basic double. The game has completely changed since then.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 04:30 PM) Eh, you guys are nostalgia whores. The warriors lived on 3 point shooting and getting corner looks, that's the best shot in the game. They would have thrown more bogut and multiple bodies at shaq and done fine. They would have funneled Kobe into jump shots. This was a very good team. lol. at least I know you're not talking about me here. This ain't even the same league from 2010.
  22. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 04:05 PM) So is this Warriors team an all-time great team? How would they have fared against the 90s Bulls, the Spurs in Duncan's prime, Shaq and Kobe's Lakers? Hell even the 2012 Heat? Yes. The numbers are all there. As far as how they would do against past champions? Forget about any team pre-2005. The game is just too different. Mainly the evolution of the 3-point shot, modern offensive/defensive schemes, etc.
  23. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 07:26 PM) Heh man you love making bold statements no matter the sport, right? This is baseball, even if you're the best team that kind of run is immensely more difficult to accomplish than it would be in other sports. They're beating up on a s***ty pitcher and suddenly that's enough to make them the next dynasty. Yeah, whatever. By 2017, it's going to be like the movie Rookie of the Year except it's real life. You'd agree if it were anybody but the Cubs.
  24. Man, it's over when this all comes together. I see a Blackhawks-like run.
