  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) Just saw this lineup has two players with an OPS over .635 How ANYBODY can defend KW at this point is beyond me.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 03:05 PM) QFT I know I'm speaking the truth when Rock agrees with me. And at least Dunn didn't K there!
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) Good news guys Sox are past halfway point in games played the Juan Pierre days in a Sox uni are on the downhill side! That is a positive for me. Only 300+ PAs or so until Juan is gone. That really depresses me. He will not be benched under any circumstance.
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) i hate that guy. sorry, i know it's harsh, but i can't help myself. I'm sure he's a good person. But he's a horrible baseball player. No hyperbole.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:51 PM) I'm calling a Pierre granny. Boom. I'll send you a bill if that happens. Haha. Nevermind.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) Who would have been bumped up? I'd rather Peavy starting in Coors over Humber or Floyd as he's more apt to miss bats. Jackson. And he actually would've pitched on extra rest. As fathom pointed out.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) Yup, pitching on regular rest be damned!!! We're talking Peavy, though. Not Verlander. I don't like Peavy pitching in Coors. And any extra rest you can afford to give him works for me.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) Absolutely no excuse for him to be pitching today. Bad, bad decision. Hector Santiago likely to get a lot of innings today. I was about to mention this. I thought you were spot-on when you initially alluded to this.
  9. Well that sucked. At least he hit the ball with some authority.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) I have made the decision to not watch one pitch of this game. I can't imagine what to think if some poor Sox fan drove to todays' game in Colorado to watch that lineup. It's even weak defensively.
  11. I would mock Zambrano. But we've got Peavy going today. I don't want any bad karma.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) Promise? Of course not. That was my secret way of motivating Dunn. He values my opinion.
  13. Damn, I thought Willie had died or something. This is no better, though.
  14. QUOTE (forrestg @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) Cameron designated for assignment by Redsox. Is there anything left he's 38. Will somebody pick him up? Hell no. He's done. His bat speed is zippity doo dah. And he's lost about 3 steps on the bases and in the field (though he hasn't played much CF this year). He'll always be one of my favorite White Sox players, though.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) If we're anywhere close to hovering, KW will be a buyer and not a seller, you know that. It will take a major change in the standings to make us sellers. Do you see Detroit/Cleveland putting out a 20-5 run this month or the Sox going 5-20? Nope. And that's what scares me.
  16. Hudson is actually 8th overall in pitcher WAR. Ahead of the likes of David Price, Felix Hernandez and Timothy Lincecum. Think it's safe to say the guy is legit and there was a gross miscalculation of his abilities by our people.
  17. Dunn has had three days off. A RH pitcher is on the mound. Said RH pitcher is terrible. Another 0/4, 3 K game and I'm done with him for this year.
  18. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) so your answer is "4"? I don't really have an answer. I want to see a run. Not a streak. Like 13 of 15 or 17 of 23. Somethin' like that.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:21 PM) Hard to argue with any of those, my only change would probably be NL Manager. Clint Hurdle has the Pirates over .500. Enough said. Yup, I considered him. He's done a fine job. And if they're still over .500 at the end of the year, I'd definitely go with him.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) No Bautista? I thought about it. But I just can't go with him. I feel like your team has to at least be a contender. I know that's not fair. But unless you're having a '04 Bonds-like year, I feel the MVP should always come from a playoff team or at least a near playoff team. I went with Reyes despite the fact the Mets don't qualify as a contender simply because nobody from the NL really stands out to me (and Reyes has just been REALLY good in all aspects). Kemp has been great. But the Dodgers blow. Pujols has been human. Guys like Tulo, Cargo and Upton have had really good years, but not MVP-like. I'll never go with Ryan Howard because he stole his award from Albert in '06. Votto has had a fine year. But not as good as last year. I guess Prince? Just had to go with Reyes. Also, I didn't realize Ogando had rookie eligibility going into this year. So that makes the AL ROY race a lot closer than I made it sound.
  21. A legitimate streak will be impossible with so many players performing at a sub-standard level. We're f***ed if/when PK ever cools off. We've already seen CQ and Ramirez cool down considerably the last couple weeks.
