  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 4, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) I don't know why it bothers me so much, but I just have to say it since it seems like you do it a lot. It's "etc." I just can't get serious about grammar on a message board. And I get those that do. There's certain things that drive me crazy. I'm content as long as I can produce a post that people can understand and that doesn't have me coming across as a total f***ing idiot. lol.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 4, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) Those knees are 45. He just doesnt have the explosion he used to have. Everyone acted like Wade crossing him over was a bigtime move, but it was a basic crossover and Garnett gave him an "Ole'!" KG would've sent that s*** into the 10th row 8 years ago.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 10:12 AM) The Indians have a lot of "magic" so far this season. Have you seen what Drew Pomeranz has been doing at high A so far? Their future looks really good right now.
  4. Not including incomplete seasons, otherwise this would easily be '94 for me, 2006 was unquestionably the most disappointing. All the momentum from '05. A seemingly better roster than '05. A dominating start in which the offense bludgeoned teams to death and had us 57-30 at the break. That was our year to really just take over the city and truly put ourselves among the truly elite organizations in sports. Not just baseball. It didn't have to be another title. Though that would've been nice. Another deep playoff run and we're in that rarefied air. But the second half came. Pitching fell apart, offense fell off, Ozzie couldn't do a thing about it, KW didn't upgrade and the rest is pretty much history.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 4, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) Not that it's spectacular, but Andruw Jones is 3 for 13 with a homer and 2 walks in his career against Liriano. He would have been a more potent threat than Dunn last night and it would be nice to have someone to play behind Rios in case he got into a funk, which he has done. Looking completely in hindsight, it would have been nice to have him on the roster opposed to Will Ohman. It's wrong because I actually had no problem with the Ohman signing, but it would have been great to have had him back, especially considering their struggles against lefties this year and the fact that it seems like they've already faced a ton of them. That probably bumps Lillibridge from the roster at some point too, but perhaps they would have worked around that, or sent Morel down earlier instead. Whatever. Win. You don't need hindsight to be opposed to Will Ohman.
  6. s***, I know I'm mad. Surprised? No. Because I never thought this team was a lock to flat-out dominate. Never thought it would be this bad. But there were pros and cons either way. Outside of Dunn, who's been a massive bust to this point, this is the exact same team that came up short last year. I guess you could say Crain, who's been fantastic, is Putz at this point. It was just automatically assumed that 'well, this team won 88 games last year with Kotsay at DH. Surely that can win more than that with Dunn.' That's the lazy way of looking at it. There are just too many hit-or-miss guys on this team. Offense and pitching. We don't have multiple guys, think the Rockies with Cargo and Tulo, that can flat dominate and carry you for a month or more. Guys that can mask the inconsistency of others. Baseball is not as superstar-centric as basketball, obviously. But it's nice to have one or two. The fundamentals are what's eatin' at me the most. The errors, the poor baserunning, ect. This is not supposed to happen with Ozzie managed teams. Yet it's the case every year, save one.
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 4, 2011 -> 10:54 AM) Thats what a grace period is... Ahhhh. I get it now. My fault, steve. I didn't have to wait nearly that long.
  8. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ May 3, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) gz Miami is scary You got that right. The NBA is the one sport in which talent alone can overcome any obstacle. Boston looks old as s***. 'Bron and Wade are just taking turns on they ass. Something drastic will have to occur for Boston to win this series. And even the biggest Bulls homer can't feel too confident at the moment at a potential conference finals showdown. I know I don't.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 4, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) Did you not see the title of the thread? He got 5-years post World Series. You're just a hater! I saw the title. But I don't recall you ever complaining of drafting, developing or when the last time KW made a good trade was.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 3, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) Or it could be because there's a lot of people who didn't have a father figure growing up and have great relationships with their mother. But nah, I'm just a p****. I didn't say all that. And I wasn't trying to be a dick. And I can see being 'moved' or 'touched' or whatever. But nearly reduced to tears? That's a bit much. You just got caught up in the moment because that's your favorite player and you feel like you 'know' him. If that had been any regular dude tearing up over his mom it wouldn't have had that affect.
  11. lol Steve. You're about 8-10 months late, probably even longer, to the party in regards to the drafting, developing and KW's obsession with emptying out the farm for overpaid/overrated vets. Myself, Russ, fathom and others have long broken that down. But it's good to see you've finally seen the error of your ways.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 3, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) I was almost in tears when he was talking to his mom. That was something special. Lol. You must cry a lot. It wasn't THAT special. Anyway, congrats. Well deserved.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 1, 2011 -> 06:10 PM) Everyone talks about how the Bulls swept the Heat, but it's not like those game were blow outs. Everyone remembers their s***ty start but disregards that they still had the 3rd best record in the entire league. LeBron is still the best player in the league and Wade ain't too shabby. I really really hope they lose but I'm just not sure I see it happening. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 1, 2011 -> 06:10 PM) I've been saying it all post-season, they'll win this whole thing. I sure as hell hope I'm wrong. I'll say this much: The Rose show won't work against the Heat. Deng and that wuss Boozer are going to have to play well. Not just alright. But well above average.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 1, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) Wade: 14-21 for 38 pts I don't watch all that much NBA, but I have a bad feeling that the Heat have figured it out and are gonna win it all. Hope I'm wrong. I don't care what anybody says. The Heat scare the living s*** out of me. They've been dubbed as an underachiever yet they still won 58 games without Haslem and then Miller being crap all year. They have 3 of the absolute best players in the game. I still don't think we can beat them 4 times in 2 weeks.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 1, 2011 -> 12:23 PM) J4L, I love you to death, but why do you keep saying this? Are you upset that you're not the center of attention, or are you trying to not so subtley make the point that all your warnings are becoming reality? Yeah, you're right. I'll shut up. It's just everybody got on me all off-season now look at this. I'm not saying I was right or anything because I really don't think this team is done. It's just strange how all it took was a lousy month for everybody to go berserk. But ill shut up about that.
  16. Lol@Milkman. This board is killin' me right now. I don't even have to say anything anymore.
  17. Lol. I miss Jan, Feb, March when I was the board demon. It's no fun anymore.
  18. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 1, 2011 -> 10:26 AM) Glad I am not the only one. BTW did you get lucky last night? No. Damnit. I did get a couple numbers. But even if I had hit a HR I would've been too drunk to do anything. I had at least a dozen MGDs. Every time JP came to bat I would down a beer in like 20 seconds.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2011 -> 10:37 AM) Eddie? What the heck are you talking about? Everybody knows Eddie Einhorn runs the show.. lol. I have no idea what he's talking about.
  20. I admit I'm dumb a lot of the time. But what does this thread mean?
  21. Lol. This s*** is hilarious. I dominated the off-season with my "pessimism". Now I'm not even in the top 10 for most pessimistic posters.
  22. Heads is right. I'm tryin to he cool but it's hard. Oh, and I got a number. She said call her at midnight. It's bout to be on.
  23. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) Pretty ugly n**** as well. Thank god that isn't J4L or I'd feel sorry for him. Whoops... Lol. It's cool. I'll post a pic when I'm smiling.
  24. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 08:00 PM) What's with the angry black man avatar? That's me. I was in a bad mood that day.
  25. I'm so drunk right now I no longer care about the ineptness of this team. But good god damn there's this hot piece of Latin ass I been scopin since I been here. Almost time to make my move.
