  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 07:13 PM) Had no idea we play 30 out of 43 games on the road starting Monday. I saw that as well. Kinda scary.
  2. C'mon, folks. I'm liquored up and ready to go!
  3. Just can't imagine any team looking for bullpen help this early. There's been some good ideas floated around. But it's just too early.
  4. This sucks ass. I've got nothing to do and was looking forward to the game. I guess I can watch god (Cargo) and god 2.0 (Tulo) blitz the Cubs.
  5. One of the thinnest rotations in the game gets a whole lot thinner > http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/articl...yy&c_id=nyy Something(s) awful would have to occur for us to be hopelessly out of it by the break or right around the deadline. But if that were the case, and the Yankees offer up Jesus Montero for Danks, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 01:49 PM) Somebody's frustrated that he's falling behind. lol. I knew you would come to the defense of Saber. It's like picking on your kid brother.
  8. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 06:53 PM) I thought it worked the opposite way. You can't remember things because you're a drunk. I don't even remember what happened yesterday. I know I called Wite gay and I think I took a dump. It's rather furry after that. Alcohol has fried my brain cells. lol@furry. I meant to say fuzzy.
  9. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 06:25 PM) I would love to see Shingo back, even though he was terribad. I miss the gong.. ERA+ of 206 and 2nd in ROY voting in '04. But yeah, he was bad after that. It's funny. He was pretty much my favorite player after Frank and Mark that year, yet I don't remember a single game he pitched in. Then again, I wasn't an alcoholic at that time.
  10. Troy Tulowitzki is a good major league SS.
  11. QUOTE (soxsider11 @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 03:40 PM) aj sucks and does not produce. The sox are such a streaky team from TCQ beckham floyd jackson etc. can carry a team when they are on but if they all decide to go away at the same time watch out. The pen will be fine and i believe will still lead us to the division title Ummmm? Don't.know.what.to.say.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 05:04 PM) Saw on ESPN that Dusty has had him pitch 4 out of last 5. That was exactly my first thought. Dusty better not dare ruin that arm.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 04:51 PM) What's with Chapman throwing 92? http://twitter.com/#!/johnfayman/statu...637435353047041
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 10:15 PM) I understand that completely. I just happened to think that on these two occasions these games were pretty important to set a tone. I think Mark and Danks woulda breezed through the ninth. I'm not saying to do it all the time. I just think early games are important. I could be mistaken. Lillian I loved your theory. Somebody should do an article on that or ask Bill James his opinion. Awesome stuff. Can you send it to Bill James and ask what he thinks of it? I like your theory. lol. You're hilarious, greg.
  15. I agree completely. I'm not punting the season because the bullpen sucks on April 13th. Now if a month from now we're having the same issues, I will dominate.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) I am predicting you are drunk at 11:46 AM next Tuesday, the 19th That's a rather sound prediction.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 08:25 PM) Don't forget about Michael Bourn a.k.a. Juan Pierre Jr. I didn't forget. He's a Pierre clone. Black. Looks about 16. And not that good at baseball.
  18. I'm as critical of Ozzie as anybody outside of probably fathom. And believe me, if we don't make the playoffs this year I want his ass gone. But I can't get on him for what's happened to the bullpen to this point. NOBODY could imagine Thornton would be this bad after being the best non-closer in baseball for the last three years. I figured Sale would experience some growing pains. But he's been worse than most expected. Besides that, I blame KW much more than I do Ozzie for the mess that is the bullpen. He was the one that traded for Pena, signed Crain/Ohman to multi-year deals and left the farm so barren that we had to take a flier on Phil Humber.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 07:49 PM) Would Kobe have been fined 100k if he called the guy a cocksucker? I really doubt the gay community cares Kobe called someone what he called him. I hate to have to defend Kobe. But this is pathetic. I've said f** or homo or whatever about 53734264364 over the last 5 years. It's not personal at all. Just talking s***. I actually have gay friends. Even one who posts here. He goes by the name of witesoxfan.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) Myers is a hell of a lot better than Wandy Really? I'd say Wandy has been better in just about every aspect (though Myers only pitched 70 innings in 2009) than Myers the last three years. Plus Brett is a wife beater. Women get on my god damn nerves, like, all the time. But I'd never hit one.
  21. The Astros shoud be contracted. As a former Astros fan (easily my second favorite team from '97 through '05), it's sad to see what's happened to them. It's basically Hunter Pence, Wandy Rodriguez, maybe Brett Myers and AAA garbage.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 06:54 PM) Jesus, someone close this thread before it gets more retarded. lol. Where did all this come from? I know I'm crazy and repetitive. But damn. At least I offer logic.
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 07:05 PM) J4L-- I'm giving Ozzie and Kenny the benefit of the doubt, because I absolutely believe both should be fired if the Sox don't make the playoffs this year of "all-in". Plenty of time to figure this out and there's plenty of talent on this team, but at the end of the season they have to be on top of the standings, or it's time to make organizational changes. The late inning meltdowns are no doubt a major pain in the ass, as has been the defense. But I'm really pleased with the offense and SP to this point. The offense in particular. CQ and Beckham overall look infinitely better than they did this time last year. PK looks like he told the regression police to f*** themselves. Ramirez is having a good April. And then there's Dunn. Adam Dunn. And I look at this division, though I obviously have to respect the Twins, and I truly believe failure of '94 Sonics proportions would have to occur for us not to win it.
