  1. Edinson Vólquez is a f***ing stud. He's got nine k's through four innings tonight. ERA is down to 1.23. I don't think I've ever seen a trade that benefited both teams to this level as the one pulled off by the Reds/Rangers.
  2. Looks like I gave the Spurs WAYYYYYYY too much credit. I guess there's a reason they've never repeated.
  3. Thome sucks in the clutch. I have absolutely no faith in him to ever come through in tight situtations.
  4. Kudos to this pitching staff. It's beyond amazing that we are where we are with basically four to six automatic outs in the lineup.
  5. I've seen enough. I'm going to change my name to Quentin4life!
  6. No reason we shouldn't sweep this series now.
  7. And the ultra "boring" Spurs move on to the conference finals. This should be an excellent series. The Lakers are good. Real good. But the Spurs have been there and done that so many times now. I've got the Spurs in 6.
  8. The NL is just brutal. Either the Cubs are playing a team that features a AAA offense, or they face a team that features three or four #5 starters. Oh yeah, they get to face the Pirates every week.
  9. Congrats to Lester. The Red Sox have done quite a job developing young talent the last few years.
  10. Albert Belle was also caught with a corked bat.
  11. No jinx. If we can't hold this lead against this putrid offense we simply suck. My eyes start to hurt when looking at their lineup.
  12. Man, the Giants have the worst offense of the modern era.
  13. I feel sorry for any fan, especially a Sox fan, that didn't get to see Frank at his peak. Time stood still when he came to the plate for me. It was just like watching Michael. Everytime Frank came to bat u sensed something special was about to happen. Frank was on some different s*** in 1994. He was playing at a level that I to this day have never seen. And that includes any of Barry Bonds' steroid-induced years. People talk about how amazing it would be if somebody in the modern era won the triple crown. Not only did Frank have a legitimate chance to do that, but he had a legitimate chance to lead the league in SIX (yes, six) other major offensive categories, making that a staggering NINE offensive catergories. I will never forgive the b****es involved for wiping out that season. We missed out on argubly the greatest single-season EVER by ANY player in the history of the game. http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/AL_1994.shtml Click this link for the 1994 statistical leaders. Just take a look at how many Frank either led in or damn near led in. It's mind-boggling.
  14. Who cares, fathom. The Tigers are going to go on a '27 Yankees like run and win the division by 10 games. Atleast that's what you said.
  15. Nope. That would be Hanley Ramirez.
  16. I just orgasmed. I love shutdown bullpens.
  17. I'm glad he wasn't this hot during the 2005 World Series. We might've needed five games to beat the Astros instead of four.
  18. He's definitely the front-runner for the Cy Young award to this point. And it's not even really that close. That says a lot when you're in the same league with guys like Peavy and Santana.
  19. Tex, my mistake was getting behind the wheel of a car while drunk. Not actually being drunk. And I'm not going to apologize to anybody for getting drunk. I like to drink and I don't care who knows about it. The night I flipped my SUV was a little over a year ago. I have not gone anywhere near a car after drinking since that night. And I don't plan to ever again. I've lost a lot of money because of one dumbass mistake. Well over $ 3,000. I also lost a very good car. I've had to go to classes. I've had to miss work because of these classes. I also have to pay for them. I've been to court something like 15 times in the last year or so. And of course I'm going to jail for 10 days. So believe me when I say that I've definitely learned my lesson.
  20. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to be excited. I'm very excited about what he's done and his overall potential. Just trying to keep things in perspective. I just hope everybody is as enthusiastic (I may have spelled that wrong) if/when he hits a slump.
  21. I hope you're wrong on that one Yas. Or hopefully Kenny fired the person/people who thought Anderson was more ready than Young.
  22. LOL. The CQ love has got to stop. I've been posting here since 2003 and I've never seen an entire board orgasm at the very mention of a guy's name. Q has been outstanding. But we're a month and a half into a six month season. Let's see if the guy does it for an entire year before we start talking about Hanley Ramirez type contract extensions. Another thing, does Greg Walker get any type of credit for Q's start? He sure does get the blame when a future HOF starts sucking.
  23. IIRC the Dbacks didn't want Anderson. They wanted Young, correct?
