  1. The man was born to hit.
  2. Did we have a 4-game winning streak last year? I seriously can't remember.
  3. Yo Jason, change that sig my friend. I don't want to be reminded of 2007.
  4. We simply have Verlander's number. I don't know what it is, but we own this young fella.
  5. Count me as one that is still very 'cautiously' optimistic about what we've seen from this team the last 3 games. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we're 3-2 (especially after losing our first couple), but it's going to take A LOT more than a 3-game winning streak before we know if this team is for real or not. The offense looks ten times better than it did last year after the first week. The bullpen has been good. But it was real good last year through April. Hard to believe that after one trip through the rotation that the only two guys to pitch well have been Danks and Floyd. Mark owes us a real good start tomorrow.
  6. Will happily eat my crow regarding John Danks. I didn't think he had a chance in hell to hold the Tribe down. I didn't see the game today. How did the new cutter look?
  7. I have a bad feeling that Mr. Danks is going to get rocked tomorrow. We needed Mark and Javy to step-up and get us off to a good start. They both failed miserably. Now it's on John to keep us from getting swept.
  8. Mayble will score 2-3 more runs and lose 7-5? Then we can hear once again about how this was a "positive" loss?
  9. Not even two games in and I'm already sick of this team. I'm usually one of the more optimistic posters on this site. But this team has been a complete laughing stock since the all-star break of 2006. Damn, I sound like fathom.
  10. Raise your hand if you thought Nick Masset would be the lone Sox pitcher to not completely suck after tonight.
  11. ALC - Indians ALE - Red Sox ALW - Mariners NLC - Brewers (not just picking them because I'm a Cubs hater. I really think they'll be better this time around). NLE - Braves NLW - Diamondbacks Wildcard teams will be us and the Mets.
  12. Let's get this party started. Will know just a couple weeks in if this season will be any different than the disaster that was 2007. This is a BIG year for the franchise. Especially for a guy named Kenny Williams. No more excuses. 2006 failure was because all of the starting pitchers were worn down due to the previous season. Last year was a case of just about every regular having their worst season in years all at the same time. Not to mention the worst bullpen I've seen in my 17 years as a Sox fan. They didn't want to rebuild, fine. Now go out there and be a contender. No more damn excuses.
  13. So I guess I'm the only Bulls fan hoping we lose every game that we have left? This season was lost months ago. I want a lottery pick. Maybe we can get lucky ala Portland last year and land Beasley.
  14. Make that 22 in a row for the surging Houston Rockets. They are now the #1 seed in the brutal western conference at the moment. They're 10-0 since Yao went down. And for those who didn't get to see the game, Shane Battier played some of the best damn defense on Kobe Bryant that I've EVER seen. I know Hammerhead would apperciate that.
  15. Props to the Illini for a strong showing in the conference tourney. Good Riddens to Pruit and Randle.
  16. Kansas, Texas, UCLA, UNC. I would pick Kansas to win it all, but I'm not ready for Jimbomania if that happens. So I'll go with UCLA (even though I hate Pac-10 schools).
  17. I don't buy this crap for a second. So she slept on a damn toilet for 2 years? She didn't bathe for two years? I could go on and on.
  18. Wow, I've completely missed this thread. I see it was started in February. Anyway, as much as I hate to admit it, I think the Cubs will win the pathetic NL Central once again. Now, if Ben Sheets AND Eric Gagne are healthy ( BIG ASS IF), I like the Brewers. And I know I'll be in the minority when I say this much -- look out for the Pirates this year. They've got some serious young talent, especially their pitching. Note: The Diamondbacks will take the NL this year. Mark these words of JFL.
  19. Yes, Ace. You as well. There's been about 10 people from this site that haven't completely taken a dump on him the last two years.
  20. For the record, unless your name is Jordan4life (me, of course), Heads, Tony, Wite, Kalapse, Yasny, Dbaho and I believe I'm forgetting a couple other people, you are not allowed to jump on the Brian Anderson bandwagon. This entire board has killed him the last couple years. Only a select few supported him through thick and thin. Of course, It's only spring training. But I've got a strong feeling Brian is going to make a lot of folks eat that crow.
  21. I almost had a heart attack. I saw the first part of the title, "SPECULATION - Rickey Henderson," and thought he was trying to make a comeback as a player. Whew!
  22. Good idea. I don't want to be in a league that has sissy bye weeks. All we really need is one more person.
  23. We need to hurry up and get this league filled. Are there supposed to be 10 or 12 teams? Who hasn't signed up yet?
