  1. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:38 PM) I love a guy who mysteriously loses 5-6 MPH off his fastball. How does this happened to a 29-year old during one offseason?
  2. I don't even think Jphat can come up with anything positive to say about Freddy right now.
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:35 PM) They haven't given you any reason to have faith in them, except for the size of their paychecks. Which is extremely dissapointing. The one aspect of this team I had absolutely no worries about coming into this season was our rotation.
  4. I'm really getting worried about the back-end of our rotation. I don't have a whole lot of faith in anyone not named Contreras or Buehrle.
  5. Jesus Freddy! The team spots you 4 runs and you're well on your way to giving it all back. :headshake
  6. Man, there isn't one easy out in this Reds lineup.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:22 PM) See, you missed 1 key detail. Claussen's ERA coming into this game was 5.26 or so. The usual conversion I do is add .9 to an ERA to guess how the average pitcher would do if they switched leagues. In other words, Claussen's pitched roughly as well as Jon Garland. I knew what his era was. But when you've got 3 of your regulars scuffling, the pitcher hitting, and your best hitter out, that's usually the perfect medicine for a struggling pitcher. I'm more than glad Crede has made me look like a fool, though.
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) No, I mean scoring runs at all will be tough. Uribe/Anderson/Garica/Pods=all outs. Not having Thome sucks as well. I'm an idiot.
  9. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:17 PM) If "hard to come by" you mean "in droves," then yes. Claussen has absolutely nothing on his pitches. I can't believe CSN's radar gun, but what I observe from my own eye, movement on his fastball baseball is limited. From the AB's we've seen thus far, no one appears fooled. And let's not forget Garcia is pitching as well. No, I mean scoring runs at all will be tough. Uribe/Anderson/Garica/Pods=all outs. Not having Thome sucks as well.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:15 PM) Claussen does still have that 5.26 ERA. True. But we've got 4 automatic outs in the lineup.
  11. Runs are gonna be hard to come by this night. We need to get Gooch in.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 09:55 AM) Today's fun fact of the day: It's mid June, and the 15 million dollar payroll Marlins have a better record than the 95 million dollar payroll Cubs. With that said, go Cubs the next 3 days, but lol at that fact. And if the Pirates win tonight, they'll be tied with them for last place in their division. Pathetic!
  13. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) Stackhouse suspended for game 5. Will that Mavericks overcome that? It's gonna be very tough. Doable, though.
  14. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) I got slammed so much last year commenting how Pods was not all that good. Well, obviously, he doesn't have to be "that good" for this team to be successful. He's just been terribly streaky this year.
  15. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 05:28 PM) I don't understand why people think the Sox need SS help. Uribe might be starting that hot streak. Let's pray
  16. QUOTE(PaleHose4Life35 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) You aren't a true Sox fan if you would rather have the Tigers win. Agreed. Although it took every ounce of White Sox passion in me to cheer for those bums. It was VERY hard.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 10:49 AM) I think the winner of game 6 will take the series personally (especially if the Heat win game 5). In all seriousness, right now the 2 teams have diverged so wildly in their performances between home and road games that I'm just not convinced that even if the Heat go in with a 3-2 lead, they'll be able to pull out a game in Dallas, and I really doubt they'll be able to pull out a game 7. Good point. I still can't see the Heat winning all 3 middle games -- especially since it's never happened in the history of the finals. I'll just say if the Mavs win game 5, it's over.
  18. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 05:51 PM) If anyone was expecting the Flubbs to win against the Tigers they are going to be disappointed. They are far more likely to throw the series just so they can stick it to the White Sox. They don't have to throw anything. They're plenty bad enough when they actually try. I never thought they would be worse than the Pirates.
  19. We better take care of business with the Reds. We're not getting one ounce of help from these pathetic bums.
  20. Tigers already up 2-0. When did Rusch get so fat?
  21. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) Let's have some Pods perspective here. The idea with Pods is to get on base, and then either steal or threaten to steal, right? OBP this year: .343 OBP last year: .351 SB this year: 21/28 (75%) SB last year: 59/82 (72%) So... the guy has almost the say OBP, WHILE he is in a slump, as last year. And his SB's are at a higher success rate than last year. What exactly is the problem again? That he's hitting .136 this month?
  22. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) Considering who we're facing, I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about Freddy serving up gopher balls to Dunn, Griffey, etc. I'm worried. Sorry, I just can't feel comfortable knowing Uribe/Anderson/pitcher are gonna be hitting back-to-back-to-back. Add to that we've got Pods in a serious funk. This is a pretty s***ty time to not be able to use our leading HR/RBI/OBP/OPS guy.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 09:57 AM) The Tigers don't hit lefties all that well, and Marmol has REALLY good stuff. The Cubs will manage to at least be able to avoid being swept IMO, but I'd guess the Tigers take 2 of 3. I don't know much about Carmel or whatever his name is. I do know the Cubs have no chance against Verlander.
  24. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 11:04 AM) i have a feeling these games are gonna be ugly. Not if our pitching is up to par. I am worried about the offense with Thome out.
  25. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 11:03 AM) reds board. Link?
