Kevin Walker & Harris recalled; Lopez, Burke down
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 8, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) Yep, good thing that we're spending pointless money on a guy that shouldn't be called up. Way to spend that money, Kenny! (And I'm not bashing you, either) It's a stupid move. Baj should've gone before him, if not Baj, then what about Josh Fields? Walker sucks. But Walker is a lefty.

Kevin Walker & Harris recalled; Lopez, Burke down
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 8, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) Walker was called up to be a lefty specialist in the pen. He has a 6.00 ERA in Charlotte. Per Rotoworld. Burke and Lopez also sent down as a result of Gooch and Uribe being healthy again. Seven guys in the pen? Not to mention Walker is a cross between Billy Botch and Antonio Alfonsucka.

Heat with a 19 point win over the Pizzards. Man, the more I see of the Heat, the more i'm impressed. I keep waiting for Shaq to explode, but at this point, they don't need him to. They've got a very well rounded team over there. I can't f***ing wait for that Pistons/Heat showdown in the conference finals.

Flubs fans chant "DUSTY SUCKS!!!"
QUOTE(JimH @ May 8, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) In Zambrano's complete game today, he threw 135 pitches. Wow. I suppose Baker felt he didn't have any other choice, but that is one heck of a lot of pitches. It'll be interesting to see if there are any adverse effects to Zambrano later on. There will be. Did anybody see Cubs fans at the end? They celebrated as if they had won a playoff series..lol

Around The Majors
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) You know your bullpen is crap when you sign Darren Oliver. http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/p...ort=MLB&id=5127 The balance of power has indeed shifted in the national league.

Buehrle / Sox on ESPN SC
QUOTE(Da Sox @ May 8, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) I awoke early this morning, threw on ESPN and sure enough right in the middle of a sports center episode they're talking about how Mark Buehrle could be like Michael Jordan. "Sometimes I dream, that he is me, you've got to see that's how I dream to be, a dream I knew, a dream I grew, like Mark, if I can be like Mark, I wanna be I wanna be like Mark."

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I hope Zaun is ok. Was anybody pissed off when Ozzie pulled Hermanson for Marte? Oh well. I'll take the win. 24-7..Who would've thunk it.

Frank feels better, may not need minor-league rehab
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 02:58 AM) "Still no date for Thomas' return But hurt slugger feels better, may not need minor-league rehab" http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...ack=2&cset=true Please, no more Frank at 1st base. :headshake But Frank hits better when he's at first. I agree. I don't want Frank anywhere near the field. Good to hear he's doing pretty well. Hurry back soon big fella!

05best sox team ever
I wasn't old enough to witness the 59 and 83 teams, so I can only go by what I saw. That 1994 team was by far and away the best White Sox team i've ever seen. A deadly offense led by, at the time, the most dangerous hitter in the game. A lights out pitching staff. A solid bullpen. All the pieces were in place that year. GOD DAMN I WANT 1994 BACK! THAT f***IN STRIKE! :fyou

I expect a good performance from Buerhle. Afterall, he's really stunk it up this year with his 4.00 era.

This Is Impossible
I love good pitching and defense.

Are You HAPPY Now?
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 7, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) DOWN WITH ESPN THREADS I agree. I mean, it's great that people are starting to stand up and take notice, but lets not get consumed by it. If we keep winning, everything else will take care of itself.

Official NBA Playoffs Thread
Those were argubly the two worst game seven's i've ever seen in my life. Total domination by the Pacers and Mavs. You can't help but be impressed with Indiana. All the s*** they've gone through this year and here they are in the second round of the playoffs. I would give them a legitimate shot at beating the Pistons with Artest, but unfortunately, he's an idiot. I'm really looking forward to the Mavs/Suns second round series. You're gonna see plenty of scoring, that's for sure. I'm taking the Suns in 6.

In a way...
QUOTE(Princess Dye @ May 7, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) maybe this sounds odd, but i'm just glad to see that he still isnt walking people. i'll live with performances like today, where he says 'here it is hit it'..... even when they do hit it, i prefer this approach to the problems from last year where he would not challenge people i dont see him ever being an absolutely unhittable type guy..... but if he's going to go about things the way he has in every start this year..... he's got a spot in my rotation as long as he wants it I totally agree. Garland is not gonna throw complete game shut outs all the time "although I would love it." As long as he's agressive and not walking people, he'll be fine.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 7, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Guys, Garland is now 6-0! Who woulda thunk it? Absolutely nobody. I'm glad he was able to pick up the win despite not having his best stuff. He's earned it.

Neal Focking Cotts
QUOTE(Princess Dye @ May 7, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) YEA BUT OH MY GOD NEAL COTTS IS LIKE SO HORRIBLE AND I HATE HIM What are you talking about? We always support Cotts around here.
-
Bulls @ wizards.
Not to mention not having Curry and Deng. I hate to play the injury card, especially since we were up 2-0, but no way in hell we lose this series with those 2 healthy. And i'm not even talking about what they bring to the table, but the fact they would've allowed us to bring Harrington and Nocioni off the bench, where they're both much better.

Most Valuable Acquisition After 28 Games
I think it's great that you can make a case for all these guys outside of probably Dye. And in a month or two we might be Arguing him as the most "valuable" addition.
