Trade Deadline Predictions Thread
I do think there's something to him being so bad in NY because of the big national stage. I'm not saying he'd do a 180 if he came here, but I wouldn't be surprised if his hitting improved.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
The bat could have hit another player and Eloy would have gone on the IL out of sympathy.

Trade Deadline Predictions Thread
I like the idea of Happ. He fills an immediate need in the lineup and in the field. Giving up Crochet is a tough one, though. However, with the way he's been handled, he may never reach his potential with this team. If the Sox were to acquire Happ, they'd have to somehow get rid of or neutralize Tony's favorite toy in Leury.

Trade Deadline Predictions Thread
I predict a few minor moves that will improve the team, but nothing spectacular. For example: Andrew Chafin Jose Quintana Tyler Naquin We'll hear that the Sox had discussions with Washington for Soto, but nothing serious developed from it. Maybe one surprise acquisition in Joey Gallo.

Predict the Next 19 Games
I'll say 11-8. They should do better than that, but TLR will give a few games away with ridiculous lineups and/or poor bullpen decisions.

4 teams called Conforto post-draft
I would think he may end up signing a low-end deal that gets him playing for a team through 2023. He's going to want a chance to rebuild his value. He may or may not play in 2022, but he could use 2023 as a show-me season and hope for a payday starting in 2024.

Yoan Moncada, Chicago Public Enemy #1
On a hot dog? No. Oddly, though, I've had sandwiches with fries on them and enjoyed them.

Yoan Moncada, Chicago Public Enemy #1
Ketchup on a hot dog just reminds me of being a kid. That's the only way I'd eat them. Now, it's mustard and onions. I've had a true Chicago dog a few times, and it's okay. To me, it's too much. Now I kind of want a hot dog.

If the Sox trade for Juan Soto we have a chance.
Right. Technically, whoever he plays for when he becomes a free agent will have the first shot, but he's going to test free agency. Unless he ends up with the Yankees or Dodgers and they offer him an insane amount of money to extend...which could happen. If he, by some miracle, ends up with the Sox, they will not have a chance at signing him.

If the Sox trade for Juan Soto we have a chance.
I think this is the key argument here. Adding Soto really improves the team for the next couple years, especially if you hold on to Vaughn. The Sox have the pieces, but how big of a package would the Sox be willing to offer?

If the Sox trade for Juan Soto we have a chance.
I think that's giving up too much to also take on the salary of Corbin.

But...but...the Sox were convinced their offer was good enough for Machado! KW was so shocked he had to do an interview in sunglasses.

If the Sox trade for Juan Soto we have a chance.
Trading for him and seeing him go elsewhere after 2024 is MUCH more likely than trading for him and extending him...obviously. The cost for just the 2.5 years of control will be very high. The Sox have the players to do it since it wouldn't be all prospects. One or two (good) major league players would be the cornerstone. Like Vaughn and Crochet, or Kopech and Moncada, or Leury and Zavala ?. I saw someone post why not just make a huge splash and go after Judge in the off season. Love the idea, but there's no way the Sox offer enough. Just like they'd have no hope of extending Soto. Still, 2.5 seasons of Soto would be huge for this team.

**Water-Cooler Thread (TV stuff)**
With only four episodes left, I imagine we'll see the Saul we knew from Breaking Bad from this point forward. Plus maybe some flash forwards to Gene the Cinnabon guy.

Dylan Cease screwed out of All-Star spot
That's possible. But, yeah, as you said, he should have been picked as part of the original pitching group.

Dylan Cease screwed out of All-Star spot
The sports guy on ABC 7 yesterday said Cease would have been an all star except he was ineligible since he pitched Sunday. This, of course, is incorrect. Not sure why he would say that. He should have still been named as an all star and given the chance to experience it. He is the only pitcher since 1901 to have these 1st half stats: - 150+ Ks - 12.5+ K/9 - Less than 2.20 ERA - Less than .200 BAA

7/15 Sox @ Twinkies 7:10PM Can we get to .500????
I think the lightheadedness could be an excuse for benching him. Figures TLR would finally hold someone accountable in the 2nd inning of a very important game.

Take the bat off your fucking shoulder.

That's a Luis Robert is a Bad Man White Sox Winner
Johnny Cueto is easily one of the best pick-ups by the Sox in recent years. He's a damn bulldog that goes out and pitches his ass off every time and has given the team a chance in every start. It's not just his funky delivery that is making him successful. He's a good pitcher that still has great stuff. Luis Robert decided it was time to be the hitter we all knew he could be. That grand slam nearly put a hole in someone in the left field stands. And did anyone notice the fun the guys were having in the dugout? Seems like winning may be the key to boosting morale. Hmmm.
