Add 30-35 homers to our total. Whete do they rank then? That’s where we would be if the injuries didn’t happen.

The only thing he currently lacks is the power numbers. Fyi- he’s been battling a hand injury all year. In previous years he’s had elite exit velocity, that doesn’t disappear at his age. I wouldn’t dive too deep into it. The kid is a stud.

That's a very nice rotation and will keep legs fresh. I wonder if Jose would be open to coaching in some capacity to keep him around the dugout and players that love him?

He's not that bad of a fielder, he just lacks situational awareness for his surroundings and common sense. Dives at balls he should be playing on one hop, runs into the wall, falls over the stands, somehow ends up in the nets, and is a threat to run over center fielder.

I won’t have time to read through this thread until I get home tonight, but my first thought was if Eaton had his “bad attitude” behind the scenes to cause this. Its so unlike the Sox to eat this kind of money without very good reason. More than just performance.

I have no doubt that Eloy will not be a full time DH next year, but he should be on a rotation to limit his chances at injury. Imo, it will be a great rotation to keep bats sharp and legs fresh: Eloy- LF/DH Vaughn- LF/1st/DH Jose- DH/1st Burger can fill the Lamb role and Sheets (if he proves he can handle RF) can get in the rotation RF/1st/DH

I'm not sure this video helps your argument. I see a guy out of control on 90% of these plays. Can he improve? Yes, of course. Will he improve with enough time? Probably. Can the Sox afford to risk him injuring himself again with on the job training? I don't think so. I hope he puts in hundreds of hours this offseason improving his situational awareness because he has the speed and tools to play decently out there.

Pitchers should absolutely have a say in where they want the outfield lined up, to an extent. Hopefully the starting pitcher, catcher, and coaches should all be in the same room when going over the strategy on how to attack hitters that day.

With Yas, yes that would probably work, but TLR has a bit more pull than Collins.

Not sure, but hopefully they let him play RF for as long as possible to see if he can pull it off. If so, it opens some magnificent possibilities with the roster.

Kid is getting comfy and lucky for us because he has the ability to carry a team for a short while. This team is now deep enough to let Eloy DH, but still play LF once or twice a week to keep him happy.

Maybe we keep them now? Yoan is my favorite player ( I always fall for the 3rd baseman), but he cannot stay healthy. Burger could play the Lamb role on this team next year, giving Yoan a couple games off every week. Sheets is clearly a future MVP.

I’d play Eaton just enough to keep him fresh and healthy for the postseason. Then platoon him with whoever is hottest.

Hopefully he sticks for awhile and gets to enjoy the fruits of his labor.
