  1. How soon before Koepech is stretched out enough to start? Adding him in mid august to the rotation and doing a rotating "skip" with the others might really freshen them up for the stretch run.
  2. Meh. It's not who you play, it's when you play them. The Astros looked unbeatable against us, then couldn't beat the Tigers or O's. The Brewers have lost more games than us playing in a NL central that doesn't look much different than the AL central. The window is wide open. No reason to shorten it by selling the future prospects.
  3. I alway tailgate when I watch the Sox in Milwaukee.
  4. The more unique things they can add to the stadium, the better. The Bucs have a pirate ship, let's get a giant foot or something.
  5. I have the same feeling, but I'm ridiculously optimistic about free agents every year.
  6. Pretty cool that the Knights have a Sunday '83 uniform too.
  7. He has a pitcher's build. Hopefully he fills out a bit, but keeps the athleticism.
  8. They have the money and Jerry is more likely to spend on guys already in the organization. Hopefully he accepts a qualifying offer and if he continues to ace it up, they extend him around All-Star 2022!
  9. What do you think about the Sox trading some of the blocked upper level prospects for some single A kids to start a third wave? Instead of dumping these guys on rentals and bullpen arms, let's play the long game and keep this thing rolling another ten years.
  10. If Carlos signs an extension/qualifying offer, they should use Kopech in a similar way except adding a start every 10 days or so keeping his innings down and everyone else fresh for the long haul.
  11. I wish he showed glimpses of this between the injuries. They might've had him on a friendly extension already.
  12. They wouldn't bring him in down by 5 runs.
  13. Thank you! I was coming to post this. I thought the plan was to give him 3-4 innings and stretch him out for September?
  14. A lot of people are making more money staying home than returning to their jobs. I went out to dinner for the first time in two years on Wednesday night and the experience was horrible. The poor waitress was running her butt off trying to cover too may tables.
  15. Which one of you brought the garage can beachball yesterday? That was awesome! Do it! Let's see if he can play right too! Disregard. I forgot Engel was on the team in my Burger sweats.
  16. This year the decision is easy: Keep them all up through September and have Eloy DH at least 5 times a week while playing the hottest bats. Maybe Burger can learn right in the offseason? He's got a third base arm and looks decently athletic. Next year is when the choices are tougher. I don't think Jose is gone after 2022. Tim is clearly the soul of the team, but Jose is the heart. I'd extend him a season with a team option for 2024.
  17. Man, I hope so. I know a six man rotation won't happen, but there has to be a formula to keep six starters fresh and ready. Smarter people than I can iron out the finer details. How about a revolving "skip" a start? Every third start or so you get skipped for "maintenance" and the sixth guy takes your place. There has to be a way.
  18. Agreed on Burger and Sheets. Burger has to stay. Yoan needs a lot of rest over the course of a season and Burger's bat is lethal. One 'out of the box' idea is to trade for younger high school prospects to replenish the system. The Sox have to make a decision on a few upper level prospects soon and instead of adding to the big team, why not grab a bunch of younger kids drafted the last two years?
  19. Cheap rental only. Once the robot umps get here Collins will be fine at catcher. He can concentrate on simply receiving the pitch instead of trying to frame.
  20. Lynn is so likable. I'm secretly hoping they find a way to keep Carlos too. With his and Kopech's injury/stamina issues, having depth and maybe even a six man rotation next year would be awesome. It would really help Dallas too.
  21. I hope Burger finds a spot in the everyday lineup going forward because his bat is definitely translating. Does he take Lamb's spot next year even though he bats right? I love Sheets too, but how many DH types can a team field? Burger is more valuable because he can play 3rd. Another hot take is robot umps can't get here soon enough. Collins can be an everyday catcher once you remove framing from the equation.
  22. It's an interesting in case. I teach my sons to respect women and I even got into a bar fight with a stranger that hit his wife/girlfriend in front of me. I don't condone hitting a woman for any reason even if she wanted me too, BUT it appears that she went there to set him up and it went too far. Imo, they're both sick and probably deserve/deserved what happened/happens to them. I hope he goes to jail for what he did and has probably done to other women and I hope she doesn't get a penny of his money and learns a valuable lessen not to "get in someone's head".
