QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 28, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) wow. this thread is really dropping into the s***ter. i bet you wouldn't think so if it were Obama's campaign sending out racially charged flyers and losing his home state...

i love it. guy with upside, though unrealized, for nothing. this is a 'why the hell not?' signing and we've had a few of those go our way recently... have we not? i definitely am fine w/ him and getz battling it out for 2b. both guys i'd like to see succeed.
-
this has been what i've said all year and what i'll continue to say. trading him would be a mistake.
-
i love trade rumors...

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 06:12 PM) agreed. I call 52% or 53%. Maybe as low as 51%. im thinking 53%

prolly in between, but closer to the landslide.

Big Fish. I lost it.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 10:30 AM) 538 seems to think they are halfway decent. Big 10 maybe not. But with them both showing those numbers, I think it will be interesting to see other polls for OH in the next couple days. right - they're both showing big numbers. let's see what comes out tomorrow.

QUOTE (Disco72 @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 10:14 AM) You plan to shower for a living? got a problem with that?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 01:48 AM) Frank Thomas alone makes 2000 better for me. That was that season that put a big fat exclamation point on a HOF career for me. Many thought he was done before that year. He was obviously the real MVP. that's what pisses me off the most about that season. but i agree with the fact that this year it was even frustrating to be in FIRST! But i think the last week almost made up for it. I'm always going to remember that playoff game - i don't remember any single game or great moment from 2000.

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 10:52 AM) If the national league ever has a shot to pull off a world series win against an American league team it would be here against the rays due to the Rays' youth and inexperience possibly leading to a late choke. Most likely possibility? Rays in 4. American league>National [AAAA] league oops.

One vote for Obama in the blue stronghold that is Iowa.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) By far. Exponentially worse. yeah no.
-
QUOTE (beck72 @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Javy threw well most of the year. Pitching against the NL teams would put his ERA in the mid 3's. I wouldn't trust him in a big game. But I bet some team would make a decent offer for him. that's my thing - i mean, he can have all the stuff and ability in the world, but if he can't win big games, he has no place on our staff. next year's going to be a dogfight. we need guys with balls. and javy lacks those.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) whoa. no Barney Frank? He should have been in the top 3, I would actually put him at #1. yeah you're right. he's totally worse than ted stevens. ...

2008 World Series - Philadelphia Phillies vs. Tampa Bay Rays
Reddy replied to knightni's topic in The Diamond Club
i kinda want charlie to win it just because of the loss of his mother. but i want the rays to win it because it's the rays. i'm good either way. -
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 19, 2008 -> 10:54 PM) Nah, it was close though. Everyone for Garza or did Upton get hosed? I dunno it tough i'd agree w/ Garza cuz it's the Red Sox, that's a powerful lineup. to shut them down TWICE in a series, especially in a game 7, is deserving.
-
did garza just say s***? lol

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 19, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) Good game. It was weird i was nervous for a team i had no rooting interest for. Sox had to make it interesting i was the same way, and i couldn't help but smile during the celebration. they're about to be a tough team for a long time, that's true.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 19, 2008 -> 09:04 AM) I worry the GOP, the far right, and the McCain campaign will begin to tear Powell apart. Also, we saw how good Obama was at rolling out endorsements during the primaries. I wonder if this has been in the bag for a while now (a month or more) and they waited until 2 weeks before the election to roll it out. Powell did imply he's been leaning towards Obama for a month or two now. Especially when there was the report over a month ago that Powell was on the verge of endorsing Obama. It's a game. And Obama knows how to play it really, really well.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 11:16 AM) Not certain if it was my first, but 7&7's so bad I asked this girl to stick her fingers down my throat so I could puke. To this day, I can not stand the smell of whiskey. For a long time my favorite was a nice chilled vodka, neat with a couple olives. Shots of tequila, no problem. Gin and tonic until the sun comes up. But whiskey even after 30 years. but. but. you're from texas!?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 11:40 AM) Gore in 2000, ok. But Gore post election? Come on, that man rocks. He's done futurama guest spots for peat's sake! Although with GWB, some of it is unintentional hilarity. Fool me once, shame on, shame on you....10 second pause, fool you can't get fooled again. classic.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 17, 2008 -> 11:56 AM) I am overwhelmed by the staggering profundity of your artfully crafted retort. watchoo say? you best not be callin' me a staggrin' profunnity. that wut i heared?
