Even at their lowest Indiana is full of players that are supposedly more talented than Wisconsin. I get taht you guys like to make excuses for Crean, but lets be honest you had Zeller etc, you should have won more, especially at home. -

I mean Indiana beat an undefeated team who they havent beat in 6 years. I know Crean thinks Indiana is "special", but this may be the only time those kids see Indiana beat Wisconsin through out their college career. Let them have some fun. Just dont tell me Indiana is a more elite program than Wisconsin, the last 2 times Indiana beat them they rushed the court. The last 10+ times Wisconsin did, no one cared. -

The only time Indiana beats Wisconsin they rush the court. I read Crean giving Wisconsin some respect earlier today so I had this strange feeling that the ball would bounce their way tonight. Win some lose some. -

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 14, 2014 -> 03:00 PM) Was this how you reacted to the Treyvon Martin shooting? (Serious question, not trolling/baiting) After Zimmerman was acquitted, yes. My problem was Zimmerman was never charged, thats what I thought was nonsense. And id be equally angry if in this case they never charged the police. Someone is dead, the circumstances arent clear, bring the charges, let the jury decide, then its over. I have no problem that Zimmerman was found innocent, thats the system.
-
I guess Im confused as to the problem. The govt didnt just let these officers walk away, they charged them pursuant to the law and a jury found them not guilty. If anything that shows that the police do have to answer for their actions, but as always in America everyone is innocent until proven guilty. If the "facts" are true, and a man with a mental disease was reaching for a cops stun gun after they tried to subdue him, what are they really supposed to do? They are Drs, they dont know if its pcp, insanity or what. If a jury found them not guilty based on the evidence, it is what it is.

QUOTE (Paulstar @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 05:38 PM) First off, don't worry about me, I've seen plenty of "tape" (who do you think you are, his coach?). However, I'm actually able to watch Russel Wilson play with an unbiased eye because I don't adore Wilson because he played at my favorite school for one season like you do (I can only assume that you are a Wisconsin fan and that is when you fell in love with him, even though I bet you had no idea who he was before he got to Wisconsin). Maybe you should take off your I LOVE RUSSEL WILSON SO MUCH blinders and realize he hasn't done anything that amazing yet. He's so far been a really good game manager on a team with probably the best defense in the league and one of the best running games. That's a pretty luxurious situation to be in for any damn QB EVER. AND OMG!!!! JOHN GRUDEN SAID HE IS IMPRESSED THAT HE KNOWS MULTIPLE OFFENSES AND DIFFERENT ROUTE TREES????? OMG... big whoopie dee doo. Do you know how big of a fanboy you sound with a statement like that? He said he loved Tebow to and that he should be given a chance, so apparently Tebow is a great QB as well if what Gruden says during a TV show FOR MONEY means that much. I love watching the QB Camp thing and have watched most of them. And one similarity in all of them is that he praises all the QB's he has on there. Why would anyone go on there if John Gruden was just going to piss all over these guys and just point out the stuff their bad at? Come on man, think with your brain and not your hard on for Russel. And guess what, last paragraph was the first time I mentioned Tebow so get your facts straight before you come at me for something I didn't say. Overall, I've been a fan of Russel Wilson since I first saw him play at NC State. And I liked him at Wisconsin to, but also there is no doubt he was in a luxurious situation there as well as Wisconsin was absolutely loaded that year with a great defense, arguably the best OLine in college that year, a great running back, and a couple really good receivers. Russel made a living off of the PA pass that year, throwing it up to Toon or JA who was always wide open 50 yards downfield after they sold power up front. I think Wilson is a really good player with potential to get better. If the 2006 Bears had a Russel Wilson type instead of Rex Grossman, I bet they win the Superbowl. However, I think I want to see how he does if you put his back against a wall and down 38 to 10 at halftime vs. the 49ers before I consider him a great QB by any stretch. Right now he's good with the potential to be even better than that. But potential doesn't mean s*** until you actually see him go out there and do it like Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady have done. I watched Wilson back when he was at NC State. Ive never seen you post in the college football thread, so it doesnt really jive. Its odd that you say "I adore Wilson", when I barely even post about him. Wisconsin had really good WRS??? It had Nick Toon and Jared Abberderis, seriously just quit acting like you actually have watched Wilson more than just in an espn montage. T And what do you mean "like Andrew Luck", in what season in the last 3 years has he: A) Won more games or B) had a better qb rating Than Wilson? Ill hang up now while you continue to slurp Luck's penis. I get your a Luck fan boy, but s*** the guy threw 7 ints in the last 2 games, that isnt something to write home about. And Im not sure if you can really say that Luck hasnt had better wrs either, I mean TY Hilton, Reggie Wayne, or Golden Tate, Sydney Rice and whatever other cluster. I already said that I thought Luck was a better pure passer than Wilson, so it really sounds like youre the one who is idolizing, because its lunacy to put Luck in the category of Manning or Brady.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 05:13 PM) Wouldn't it be great if Konerko was just using "Jordan Danks" as his alias? Funnier if it was John Danks playing his brother.

QUOTE (Paulstar @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 05:02 PM) Gruden gives high praises to every QB in the QB Camp thing he does. Watch all of them and youll see the difference with Wilson. He is impressed by the fact he knows multiple offenses and the different route trees for those offenses. So yeah like I said, watch some tape, then come back. (edit) And you still havent explained the Tebow comment. The big knock on Tebow was weak arm. Wilson is generally considered as having a + arm, so not sure what you were getting at.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 04:54 PM) I'm not saying Wilson is a fluke. I think he is a good QB, who could get better, but people have him going into the hall of fame already. All I'm saying is that he is a good, but not a great QB, who is benefiting from being on a team with a really great defense and a great running game. If he played for Miami right now, we wouldn't even mention his name with Luck. Like we don't with Tannehill. Wilson this year attempted 30 passes or more only four times. Compare that with Manning, Luck, Rodgers and Brees. In his last 5 games Wilson is averaging 157 yards per game. He just isn't asked to do that much. I also don't care what records he holds in college. Number three on that list is Kellen Moore. Who is saying that Wilson is going to the hall of fame? Im pretty sure this all started with someone saying that Kaep is better than Wilson. No one is saying that Wilson is on the same level as Marino, Manning etc. Wilson is more like Montana/Aikman, whether his careers match theirs who knows. But Wilson's 1st/2nd, compare favorably to Aikman's 3rd (which is when the Cowboys got good), so its not hard to believe that Wilson can be a solid qb. And the point of the college stats was that Luck/Wilson played college the same year. So you have multiple teams you can compare them on. In both college and NFL, Wilson has put up superior rating to Luck. Call it "luck" or whatever you want, but Wilson's qb rating has been better the last 3 years than Luck. Im not saying Luck is a HOF QB either, quite possibly none of them are.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 04:53 PM) I didn't think you were arguing for abortion restrictions, but I see a pretty huge logical disconnect in your statement there. It's reasonable to give men an "opt out" especially because women are often restricted from the same choice? That's the part that doesn't make any sense to me. I think hes saying that women should be given the same choice...
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 04:45 PM) Wait, how is that reasonable in states where women have really restrictive abortion options or where abortions are de facto illegal or unobtainable? The woman doesn't have the "opt out" ability in that circumstance, but a man would. It only becomes arguably reasonable if women have at least as long as men to decide and widespread, affordable and easily accessible access to abortion. I picked 90 days because most reasonable people can be okay with abortions in the first trimester, so the point of the system was to give a man/woman the exact same time to decide whether they wanted to be personally responsible for another life.
-
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 04:39 PM) 100% agree. Totally reasonable, especially with all the crappy state laws that give women like 10 hours to decide whether or not to abort. Itll never happen. Conservatives wont let any law pass that could possibly increase abortion rates. Theyd rather worry that Im going to hell, than fix the problem of having to many mouths to feed. I dont get it.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 04:33 PM) Tom Brady is a good QB because he is smart, he is extremely accurate throwing the football. He can throw down field, he can hit the short passes. He limits mistakes when he plays. He can read defenses, he knows when they are blitzing, he knows when they are dropping more players into coverage. Same goes for Manning, Rodgers, Brees. Watch the pre-draft episode where Wilson works with Gruden. Gruden basically states he is excellent at all of these things and that its criminal people arent thinking of drafting him higher due to his height. But lets not let facts get away with myths. You do know that in college Wilson broke the NCAA record for QB rating, better than Luck/RGIII and he played for a running team. /shrugs http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/natlRank.jsp?year...v=IA&dest=O Hes not just some fluke. (edit) Tim Tebow??? Have you ever even seen Wilson play? He can throw the ball with the best of them.
-
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 04:21 PM) Record speed you two! Both sarcastic one-liners too. If a woman can choose not to have a child a man should be able to make the same choice. Right? Equality is something you guys still like, correct? Either that or you ban abortions. Then it'll make sense because both people have their hands tied. I prefer the let people abort option personally, less kids = happier Duke. I actually agree. But if you choose to have the child, you then cant retroactively assert your "abortion right". IE A man within 90 days of learning he has a child may use his "abortion" option. He will have no responsibilities to the child, nor any rights to the child. Seems fair.

Before Wilson the Seahawks hadnt been over .500 since 2007. 2012 they were 7-9 and Wilson was expected to be a backup. So yeah Lynch and the defense were there in 2012 but when Tavaris Jackson is your QB and throws almost 1 int for every td... Haters going to hate.

Yeah its hard for me to support baseballs holier than thou attitude when the hall is full of admitted cheaters. Its just subterfuge to make people believe that they really care, while secretly every team tries to cheat as much as possible to win.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 11:44 AM) I think we will see how good Wilson and Kaep will be in the next few years when their teams don't have as good of defenses. Both those teams are going to start losing players on defense in the next two years and neither team is drafting in the top 10 anymore to get those kind of players. Also both QB's will be getting huge contracts themselves, taking money away from the other side of the ball. Can they be this good when maybe their defenses are just good and not great. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 11:47 AM) Luck is better than either of them. I agree. If it was purely passing I dont think anyone can say that theyd take Wilson/Kaep over Luck.

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 11:37 AM) I'll repeat on the stats, talk to me in 12 months. There is not much of a gap there at all currently. Kap has been in the league 1 year longer, however has 6 less regular season starts. If you look at the 2nd half of this season, one player has improved and one has regressed, there is your reason. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 13, 2014 -> 11:39 AM) *gets popcorn ready* Sure Ill get back to you in 12 months, or 120 months. Doesnt really matter. You are merely guessing that Kap will be better. The facts are that over the last 2 years Wilson has been better, he has been in the NFL less years, hes younger and was playing baseball less than 3 years ago. Not to mention that Kaep regressed from last year where as Wilson improved. Those are just the stats, I dont have a time machine to look into the future. But you just cant look at Wilson and Kaepernick objectively based on what theyve done the last 2 years and be confident that Kaepernick will be better. He may be, but Wilson is younger and better, so it just seems like you are regressing to the "Well hes not tall so he cant be good", when anyone whos watched Wilson knows that he has something special that doesnt always appear in measurables like height.
