  1. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) We Todd Ed We Todd Did Get it right, Cheat.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 7, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) procreation is the main reason for government recognition of marriage. I thought that it was a tax thang. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Feb 7, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) The proposal, btw, would require a fertility test before marriage licenses would be issued. But I'm impotent, man! Damn. Weak sperm, no tax break, etc. Life is hard on the boulevard.
  3. I'm surprised that nobody has called out Billy Beane as of yet. This dude led the NL in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts, and complete games. He was in the Top 20 WHIP rankings damn near all season long. He sucked pretty hard until 2005. I always thought that he was kind of a scrub, but it turns out that he's just a late bloomer.
  4. QUOTE(Beltin @ Feb 1, 2007 -> 08:00 PM) Maybe I am being harsh but I recall a very streaky hitter whose defense was tough to watch. My example was from a game I attended in which Mack was brought in to pinch hit, did not deliver, and then cost the Sox the game in the late innings. My seats are very close to the area the play happened and he was brutal on multiple levels. Granted, he should not have been out there to begin with, but it was one of several examples last year when a combination of Pods in Left and Mack in Center put extra pressure on the man on the bump. Maybe Mack's defensive shortcomings were exacerbated by being out of position and being next to Pods most of the time. Whatever the reason, I am not blaming him, just stating how I feel. Stats can be misleading sometimes. Mack may have decent looking numbers on paper, but there are a lot of fans who watched a whole slew of games last year and can not recall much contribution from Mack outside of his performance against Street. Tell me what your stats say about Joe Crede's 2005 regular season? On paper he had some disappointing numbers but we all remember his clutch offensive contributions that year, not to mention the fact that his defense more than made up for his offensive shortcomings. I know Mack is a reserve, but his defense and streaky hitting stick out far more in my mind. Further, better numbers than 2006 versions of Pods, Anderson, and Uribe is comparable to being the World's Tallest Midget. You tried your hardest. I'll give you that. However, I do believe that Vance Law owns you.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 05:59 PM) Joe is a smart man, he knows what's best for him, his family and their future. Good for him. That's exactly right. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 05:36 PM) He's gonna need him??? Did you see what Kalapse posted? Take notes.
  6. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 05:32 AM) HE'S NOT A WRITER. HE JUST TYPES! And there ain't a god damn person on this site who took the time to ready any of it.
  7. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Jan 28, 2007 -> 07:58 PM) and this b**** tossed out over the mic, "you would have thought you would have learned from the Frank Thomas situation." To which he gritted his teeth and said, "That was a COMPLETELY different story." QUOTE(chisox72 @ Jan 28, 2007 -> 07:58 PM) and this woman tossed out over the mic, "you would have thought you would have learned from the Frank Thomas situation." To which he gritted his teeth and said, "That was a COMPLETELY different story." Go with your first instinct every time. Don't be such a chicken s***.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) I disagree, I think Deng is a better player and will be a better player than all those players you listed to draft. I also think at this point he is more valuable than Gasol. Gasol is only scoring 2 points more a game than Deng, and Deng IMO plays better defense and is extremely good at guarding the other teams best scorer. Also he is only 21 years old, which is the same age that alot of players are coming out of college, and he is already scoring 17 points a game in the NBA. There is no good reason to trade him at this point. Also I do not see Gasol as a top 5 C in the league, I think the trade talks have built him up more than he should be. He will give you 18 and 8 every game, is that really worth trading possible future superstars? I do not believe so. Heh, been trying to stay away from the basketball talk for a while, but just a few things... 1) Deng is NOT extremely good at guarding anybody. He simply does not have the foot speed to keep up with true scoring SFs, and he gets pushed around an awful lot because dude is built like Gumby. I'm not expecting people to be experts when it comes to judging defensive talent, but come on. Deng has the wingspan to make it hard for people to put up shots over him, and he can certainly defend the passing lanes, but he ain't gonna stop penetration, and he certainly can't hang with dudes that want to body him up. But it's funny, because Ben Gordon is so ungodly awful that he makes Deng look like a superior defender. I know that Bulls fans still ain't seeing it.... 2) Gasol is a top 5 scoring C in this league WITHOUT QUESTION. The guy could score 22 to 25 per game in the right system. Have you ever watched him play? I mean, have you ever really watched him? QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 05:35 AM) He's not getting paid 15 million to take it easy. Overall, he's been a bust this year. Jordan, this is some BS, man. Wallace has been incredible this year as far as I can tell. I know that I'm not getting the same games as everyone else. He is a Top 10 defender in the history of this game, but the minute he puts on a Bulls uniform, he's a bust? What's amazing is that people here can be so incredibly on-point when it comes to baseball, but the minute they try to talk basketball, it's just a bunch of crap. See the Tyson Chandler discussions. See the blind Ben Gordon love. It's so incredibly non-heterosexual (sorry Rex).
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 26, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) If I weren't already in 4 leagues with promises to be in 2 others, I'd join. Sorry Dude, get a life.
  10. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 05:38 PM) Mark B will most likely get traded in 2007 and if not he will be a FA at the end of the year. Oh wow, talk about a bold prediction. You really went out on a limb this time.
  11. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 05:26 PM) but i guess it should be contreras. You guess? It's because you think Garland is cute, right?
  12. QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 05:28 AM) The other was a German Shepherd named K'mere. When he called his dog, he said "Hey....K'mere!!!" Kamir sounds like a muslim name. Did your friend bounce his head off of a windshield? That might help to explain it.
  13. I would recommend bad human names. Stanley Ike Ralph Sammy Hank Herman Fred George You know, just to name a few... I'd probably be here all night if I really thought about it.
  14. QUOTE(Beltin @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) Four Japan Cuba USA Dominican Republic Just off the top of my head: Freddy Garcia: Venezuela I can't believe I thought Javy Vazquez was on teh 05 team.
  15. I thought that Tyson Chandler was sent to save New Orleans. They must have been flooded with enthusiasm when they heard that he was on his way. I'm gonna go to hell now...
  16. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) It is classless and wrong and something I would never do. Why would you even consider bringing the LT crying or the camera man pushing, when anybody in the right state of mind would agree with you that having an affair is wrong. It's classless and wrong, infact I hated all that stuff, it's the LT pissing and moaning that I've defended him for. You know, I can let Belichick off the hook as far as the affair was concerned. Perhaps he had somewhat of a falling out with his wife. I mean, dude was pushing 50 when the affair started. But you know what I can't forgive?
  17. Yep, Santana is the only guy that I would rank ahead of Carlos at the moment. Damn near everyone around my neck of the woods is a Cubs fan, so naturally, I've seen plenty of Zambrano action. The guy is a monster.
  18. Talk About Pop (Dublin Radio 11/9/73) From front to back, this might be the best album that I have ever heard period. It's just Van on his acoustic guitar with no backing band, and his voice has never sounded better. Wild Children (4:23) Slim Slow Slider (3:12) Warm Love (3:20) Drumshanbo Hustle (3:40) Autumn Song (4:25) St. Dominic's Preview (5:53) Purple Heather (3:49) Madame George (7:21) Wild Side of Life (2:18) I Shall Sing (2:49) And It Stoned Me To My Soul (3:47)
  19. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 04:11 PM) Zambrano pitches in the NL against some of the worst competition in all of baseball. And he's a head-case to boot. No question he can pitch, but money can be spent more wisely elsewhere (of course there in lies the problem for the Cubs...they're not wise). I doubt it. Zambrano is a monster. 15 million per is actually a hell of a lot less than I was expecting. The Cubs would call that a bargain, the best they ever haaaaad.
  20. QUOTE(Palehose13 @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 04:48 AM) I guess most people aren't smart enough to really appreciate the geniusness of Mike Murphy. There, I fixed it for you. Use proper English next time.
  21. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 02:28 AM) With his rebounding, he should be shooting 6 to 10 free hrows per game. Even an average shooter would get 6 points from that alone. His career average is just over 6 ppg. HIs best season with the Bulls he averaged 9 ppg. He has either wasted his talent, stole money from the Bulls or is just downright not worth the money. 14 ppg should be a minimum from him. He's making $10m a year for 6 points and 11 rebounds. Boozer has the same amount of rebounds, but 22 ppg. for about $2m more. Dwight howard has doubled Tyson's ppgs and is only in his 3rd year. I thought Tyson had major upside when he was with the Bulls, and just kept waiting for him to 'get it'. If he is getting better now, I guess it took the Bulls telling him he sucks to wake him up. Funny how some of these guys can only wake up when they feel that they have been dissed. Tyson is paid to be a goaltender, though. Nothing more. And if defense and rebounding reign supreme, then Tyson is one hell of an investment, and then some. As far as him "getting it", big men take the longest to develop, and he just turned 24 years old in October, so patience is definitely required.
  22. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 06:47 PM) But rebounding champ or not, at 7-foot, you should be able to score as well. Dunks are not that hard when you tower like that. Four straight games with over 10 points. His upside is anywhere from 9 to 13 points per game, I'd say. That will work. Could you imagine him next to a scoring PF? New Orleans brought in a couple of nice-looking players (projects) in Cedric Simmons and Hilton Armstrong, but they'll need to find a true scoring PF, and that ain't David West.
