Is Comcast SN acting funny for anyone else?
BobDylan replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) Ed Farmer just acknowledged the TV problem, said hopefully 5-10 minutes I don't buy it. -

I called Comcast...they wouldn't even allow me to go on hold. They just said, "Call back later." -

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) this has gotta be the most unprofessionally run network ever. craps out during bulls playoff games, and now the most important telecast of the year is 10 minutes away and we have no signal. THEY CAN'T HANDLE HIGH RATINGS! -
Since Ozzie didn't say it, I'm glad Mark did. Somebody needs to light a fire somewhere.

Garcia is a big game pitcher. Buehrle and Garland have proved nothing. I like this decision.

You have to send Marte home for the year

And immediately weaken the depth of one of the best bullpens in the league. Whether Damaso is struggling or not, he's an above average pitcher that has played by the rules for the most part. As far as I know, he's not a clubhouse cancer, and as long as his left arm can still pop it at 94 MPH, it would be foolish to suspend him for the rest of the year. If the Sox need a message, take a look at Carlos Lee. s*** happens, he was late...discipline him and move on. No need to throw gas on the fire. -
Gload and Blum are more then fine as defensive players at 1st and 3B.

I loooooooooooooove Juan.

When Crede comes back off the DL is he going to get an automatic bid back into the starting line-up? If you ask me, and I'm no genius, but I don't activate Crede. I keep him on the DL and go with Ozuna and Blum the rest of the way. It's obvious Ozuna has given the Sox some spark with his speed, but he's not quite the defender Crede is. However, Blum can toss some leather at 3B. Would it be wise to go with Ozuna and Blum the rest of the way? Discuss.

Sox added a bat at the deadline.............

You had me going for a second... -
It's nearing September. They have a big cushion. They are a team built on pitching. Arms are dead right now and need rest, Adkins, whether s***ty or not, will provide some pitchers rest. The logic is simple: protect what makes the team win. It's not as if Anderson was hitting .600. He had one good game on a rookie pitcher. I support the move.

I've warned several people not to talk to me when the White Sox struggle.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 22, 2005 -> 02:54 AM) I cannot comprehend a scenario where I'd even consider uttering this phrase. Let alone with Scott Brosius in there.

Uribe is my favorite player on the Sox. Easily the most exciting to watch. It's great to see him get it going. I hope he can keep it up and go on a tear for a long while. He's got the talent. to Juan.

Bob Dylan and the Band. C'mon.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) Not with some of the, lets just say "f***ers", we have here. I'm glad I have to work tomorrow.
-
Call me crazy, but I have a gut feeling the Sox are going to make a huge run for Manny if not land him.
-
Everything makes sense. I didn't think Burnett would improve the team much, but I believe Wagner would be absolutely huge for the Sox and the bullpen. Shifting Hermanson to set-up makes the Sox bullpen scary good.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) I disagree strongly. Crede is abso-f***ing-lutely solid at 3B. His defense is top notch and his offense has been coming around. I have really warmed up to Crede and I hope he has a monster 2nd half. Imagine this: Pods Gooch Overbay Dye PK Rowand AJ Crede Uribe Wait another week or two on Crede. We've seen him pull this crap before.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) We're not trading PK, that I will guarantee you. How many times do you see a team with a 10 game lead trade their marquee offensive player? Agreed.
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Hllenbrand>Kong this year I disagree. Konerko is more reliable in the middle of the order than Hillenbrand is.
-
QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) Hell yeah I'd do this trade if Konerko is in there. Contreras for Ted Lilly. We get a lefty who is better and cheaper. Hillenbrand could replace Konerko. He plays first and third and is hitting .297. AND basically Shingo and a prospect for Batista I don't see why ANYONE would want to give up Konerko in any deal that doesn't bring in a bat that is better than him. Our offense is not that good and losing Konerko for Hillenbrand only makes it worse. I hope to hell, and I think I'm right on this, Konerko isn't going anywhere this year. If we do land Hillenbrand, he'll be moving back to 3B, and not 1B.

I have wanted Hawkins even when pitching poorly with the Cubs. That north side bullpen is a mess and will always be a mess under Baker. I can't say Hawkins will be as good as he was with Minnesota, but I think he can turn into a valuable arm if we get him. I'm not really putting any fact into my words other than we all know Hawkins isn't a closer, but I have a good feeling that if he put some time in with Cooper and threw in the 7th inning, we'd have a steal.
