  1. ChiSoxFan, who is the player you picture in all of your posts?
  2. Does NCorg post here. If not, sign him up.
  3. Got sent down yesterday.
  4. Jason, I did not see the AB. But he often goes to the right side, because he can't get around on the ball. You think all those pop ups to the right side the last 3-4 yrs are on purpose?
  5. Robbe was a shot ball player when we got him, end of story. Actually, he was a year or two earlier.
  6. Konerko can't be sent down. Lee is bound to turn it around some day.
  7. Back to Jackson. As I said, he started out with 3-4 scoreless outings, but his last few have resulted in runs. I don't have the stats to back me up, just the impression I have. Seldom does he appear in crunch time. If he did, I would expect to see a flurry of hits. I don't think there is any way he will be here next year, so why bother. I could name several guys at Charlotte/Birmingham that I would rather have in our pen. And I really wouldn't mind replacing him with Reed. Do we need this many pitchers? It's not as if our bullpen is overworked like the Rockies' pen.
  8. I never wanted to see Harris in Center again, but with the poor performance offensively from Rowand, it makes sense. I weas one of Rowand's biggest boosters, and he looks awful at the plate. Has he changed his stance this year? He is late on everything.
  9. I have never seen anyone with a worse throwing arm in the major leagues than Big Frank.
  10. And Shannon Stewart will be back in the lineup, and he is usually good for a couple of hits against us.
  11. Good for Ozzie. But we don't have better players than the Twins. Maggs is generally better than his opposite number, but what other position can you say that? Center Field, Shortstop, Third, Left, First Base? I don't think so.
  12. I thought this thread was about potential roster moves..... 1) I don't understand what Mike Jackson is doing taking up space on the roster. Granted, his first few appearances were OK, but he is a bunch of line drives waiting to happen, esp if we put him in with the game on the line, which we won't. I would rather see him released now, not later, and someone with some kind of future with the team getting his handful of innings, or else pitch Cotts more. I could see cutting Jackson and bringing up Reed. 2) If Rowand doesn't step it up soon, he could use a wake up call in Charlotte.
  13. Konerko has no trade value. Zero.
  14. Can't trade Anderson. First, he is just too good of a propect. Second, he will no doubt be in the Show in either 2005 or 2006, most likely mid 2005, and that will start 5-6 years of relatively low salary for what should be pretty good numbers. Sox can't afford Delgado-like salary numbers.
  15. Regarding trades, they usually happen in July, not May. By that time we should be fifteen games behind the Twins -- they are that much better than us, IMHO. That means we will be trading FOR prospects. Lee and Maggs could both be on the block two months from now. Maybe Loaiza, too.
  16. These teams all know who our best prospects are, and if there is a trade of this magnitude one or more of our stud propects will go. Remember, by July, when most trades happen, guys like Anderson and Sweeney will be trade-eligible.
  17. I know the teams all have a separate budget for drafting. I just wonder how much the Sox have allocated toward draftee contracts.
  18. For at least three years people have been saying the same thing about the Sox. They have too many good hitters not to be scoring more runs. Or words to that effect.
  19. I think Reed, Anderson, Brice, and Bajenaru need to be promoted.
  20. I still thing Rowand could use a wake up call in Charlotte. Even if it's only 2--3 weeks.
  21. Old Socks

    Sox lose

I think the Twins will beat us by 15 games.
  22. Jeremy Reed. I don't care if he only hits .250. He will improve this team.
  23. It looked like his head hit Jones' thigh. That means concussion.
