Why is there a fascination for Randall Simon? He is a journeyman player. This team seems to have developed some sort of positive chemistry. I don't think we need to start making trades just for the Hell of it. Plus Kenny usually gets screwed in his trades. I'm not a big Konerko fan, but he is playing reasonably well, tons better than last year, so let's just leave him alone.

You young guys will continually be running into people who should not breed.

Simon has two claims to fame. 1) he is the former player who slugged someone dressed like a sausage in a Milwaukee pre-game parade. I think he was with the Pirates at the time; and 2) he is the former Brave who was referred to as a "Fat Monkey" by what's his name, the former Brave reliever who went off the deep end a few years ago. Can't think of his name (senior moment).

The sudden re- re-re-emergence of Rowand has made a Borchard call-up a very difficult decision.

Mr. Dylan, I did not see evidence of that sentiment on this board. Most of you all did not like the Uribe/Miles trade. I had the benefit of seeing Uribe play for the last three yrs in Colorado, and I liked his talent. I thought he would put Jose right to the bench (in March). And I said so. Nothing to do with Willie. Ozzie lhas done a great job of managing those guys.

Harris and Uribe both playing well. Rowand coming out of his funk. Timo not that bad. Maggs rested. CLee hitting again. Jose seems to play well every third game. Could be worse.

Too early to start thinking about signing this kid for a few years??? I think he is arbitration eligible next year. He is a classic case of a young player brought up too soon (by the Rockies). Straight from A Ball. Looks as if he has his s*** together, but he had fast starts in Colorado, too, but nothing like this. He is a very talented kid. I don't want to brag or anything, but back in ST I predicted he would be starting by the end of April. I did not foresee this kind of versatility, however. Ozzie has been perfect for this kid.

Yes. I have often wondered why. I don't know if it is a classroom thing, or maybe youngsters prefer to emulate jocks who have atrocious grammar, or maybe they just don't care. I have asked a couple of teachers and they just shrug their shoulders. Old codgers make mistakes, too, but we give a s***.

Please don't trade him. If the Sox are still contending in mid-July, we will get a s***potfull of offers for him.
