  1. I just had this image of Gio's mom coming into the White Sox dugout and beating up poor Ozzie.
  2. If I'm not mistaken, they will have to protect him on the 40 man roster for the 2006 season or risk losing him in the draft. Next year will be a big year for him, probably at High A Ball.
  3. Johnson or Beltran = bye-bye to Anderson/Sweeney. Of course, there is always the chance that Johnson will not approve a trade to the Sox.
  4. Is the Ben Davis era about to end?
  5. Moronetti is the poster child for the prophylactic industry. We ran him out of Denver years ago.
  6. I hope you are wrong, too, because I don't want to give up Anderson or Sweeney. We don't have to. All Kenny has to do is say that they are OFF LIMITS. Take you pick of what's left. He probably could have done the same thing on the Reed/Garcia trade. Just say OFF LIMITS, and then start negotiating. Of course, Seattle asked for Reed. Who wouldn't? Then Kenny rolled over and showed them his belly. No other team offered Seattle the equivelent of Reed/Olaiva. No other team will offer Arizona the equivelent of Anderson/Sweeney.
  7. Hey, Israel4ever, you hit the nail on the head. Wrigley field is awful. It is another example of how the media manipulates the brains of America's children. How charming, lovable losers, etc. Harry Carry. Whenever I meet a Cub fan, I always ask why, and they always have an answer that underscores how stupid they are. The USA has literally been manipulated, in a baseball context, by the media to be Cub fans, and for the life of me, I don't know why. They still cheer popups and last week when I saw a relay race of Cub fans on Waveland Avenue waving brooms in the air, I almost threw up, since the resident announcers thought it was sooooo charming. And funny. And symbolic of baseball fans everywhere.
  8. Why do you care where they live?
  9. Josse is playing his best SS since he joined the Sox. He'll probably be back next year.
  10. Last year Reed was virtually untouchable. This year he wasn't. This year Anderson is virtually untouchable, which says nothing about next year.
  11. Has Ryan Hankins become the best player on the Knights?
  12. Koch didn't melt in pressure situations. He is a great competitor. He is just a s***ty pitcher, by major league standards.
  13. Kenny made his bed when he threw in Olivo in that Seattle trade. If he wants Kendall, you start with Anderson and Sweeney. It's a matter of time before he trades them both. They will never wear our uniform.
  14. Hey, Kenny could haved traded Anderson and Sweeney for him if they would throw in an overpaid .500 pitcher.
  15. The original question here is who is better. Anderson or Reed. I would have liked to have found out the easy way, by having them in the same outfield for years. Now I fear that we will trade Anderson for an overpaid .500 pitcher -- either this year or next.
  16. We would not have to worry about adding a catcher if we did not include Olivo in that trade. But we have Ben Davis.
  17. My first thought when I heard JB was recalled was that it could have been Reed joining the Sox. It would have been the start of an "era." We'll all see how Joe does, but I don't expect much. I have seen two posts on this board that implied Seattle preferred Borchard, but KW insisted we keep him at the expense of Reed. I just can't believe it. Do you Chicago residents have any info on this?
  18. Yeah, let's have a trade and give up Anderson and Sweeney. Sure. That would fix everything.
  19. Anderson has played well since we signed him last year. I wonder if we trade him this year or next.
  20. Maggs signed a great contract three yrs ago. He has been taken care of.
  21. He did it again tonight in the eighth inning against the Brewers. Fly ball to the right field corner, Shammie did his hop. Right fielder caught it.
  22. IMO Reed is a much better player and prospect for stardom. So what. Just an opinion. All you guys are talking as if Kenny had his choice on who to give up, Reed or Borchard. Where do you get that info. I bet Seattle said Reed or no deal. The Sox will give JB one more chance, and he will probably strike out 40% of the time, and Seattle will bring up Reed and he will hit. Don't you think Seattle scouted both of them. They had the negoiating hammer, not Kenny. They made their choice and got it.
  23. Why would Freddie take any offer from the Sox? if we give him a valid offer, that just starts the bargaining process, and he can interview twenty teams in the off season. So what that means is that we gave up Reed, Morse, and Olivo for 5-6 wins and a draft choice next June.
