now how many "prospects" have we given up for
Rex, I love it when you agree with me.

Billy Koch Tracker
I do. Since we are in effect paying Koch's salary, I like to keep track of products of Kenny's brilliant negotiating skills. Why shouldn't Koch be mentioned? We talk about a lot of non Sox players here. After all, we would probably be 3-4 games better if we never had him. One of Kenny's better deals for sure, and then he signed him to a $12MM two yr deal.

Carl trade
I have a new respect for Kenny. He made a trade without giving up Anderson or Sweeney. Thirteen days to go.

Will Ben Davis ever get a fair shot?
We can't just send Davis down. Too much time in service. If we try to send him down, he's gone and he still gets paid. Davis was a very high draft pick back in whatever year it was. His claim to fame was a few years ago when he was with the Padres, and Randy Johnson had a no hitter in the eighth, and Davis bunted. Manager Brenley thought this was the biggest travesty in the history of the game. The score was 2-0, and Davis was just trying to get a hit. I was hoping Davis would teach Brenley a lesson the next day, but it was over.

I also believe we could have gotten Walker and his $12MM salary next year for Rauch and Maj. Much, Much, Much better player, but obviously very expensive.

I believe Everett's contract next year is for $3MM.

Five, count 'em, five.

It's Official, Sox get Everett
It frees up a spot on the forty man roster.

It's Official, Sox get Everett
Remember, we are stuck with Everett next year, also. That might be why we got some money. I don't think there is any doubt that he is the full time DH.

Top prospects in baseball
Jeff Francis had his AAA debut last night. He had a big lead after seven with tremendous stats. I'm pretty positive the Rockies will promote him just to keep him out of the Olympics.

Fred McGriff
Maybe he'll come here as an extra hitting coach. He needs to retire.

Carl Everett
Beltran has not exactly set the world on fire at Houston. He had a tough game today. They would probably love to get rid of him. I have mentioned one other player in a post elsewhere, and that is Larry Walker. Rockies would probably pay us to take his contract, and he can flat hit. If Maggs goes next year, which appears likely, we have a great right fielder (expensive, yes) for one more year before Anderson is ready. Walker is a much better hitter than Finley or Beltran.

Sox offense
The Sox do need a stick, and the Rockettes would love to dump Walker's salary. He has proven he can still hit and play defense in the last three weeks. I love spending JR's money.
-
crime dog or everett
Tony, fortunately they are not general managers. Tampa did a favor to Crime Dog to give him a chance, but he has not hit, period. Any discussion of bringing him to the Sox is nonsense.

Daniel Haigwood Named SAL Pitcher of the Week
If he does well in the next two weeks, Kenny will trade him.

Two RJ items in today's news
They will wants us to "throw in" either Anderson or Sweeney.

Baseball Weekly sez
If the Sox want a hitter who they can get without giving away the store, they should look at Larry Walker. The guy can still hit, play defense and run the bases, but he is very expensive. $12MM next year, I believe. He, Lee, and Maggs could trade off between left, right and DH. Instant offense, and the Rockies would love to get rid of his salary. No Anderson/Sweeney give-away needed. I really believe our bigget problem is offense, not pitching. Sure, there are games where we score 15 runs and inflate the stats, but it did not happen tonight. And hasn't in quite a while.

7/15 games
Time to trade Schnur.

Top prospects in baseball
Garrett Atkins is actually the Rockie's third best prospect at third bae, even though he is hitting about .340 in AAA. Jeff baker and Ian Stewart have "can't miss" all over them.
-
Lance Berkman
We gave up Jeremy Reed for Garcia, that's how it happened. And you think that makes Kenny a genius?

Cheat, I don't believe Morse is in that category. Reed is.

Playing Catch Up
Hey, KWF: Neither does Kenny.

Out of Sweeney and Anderson
Why would you want to trasde either one of them? What is the sense to this post?
