  1. Put me o the side of ChiSoxFan and Molto. Gload can play, we don't know which PK will show up next year, and we HAVE to find out his trade value. Right now, no one knows.
  2. Ozzie's contract ran out and the Sox made no effort to sign him. He was cast adrift.
  3. Almost every player in the Bigs was a draft pick. Are you saying you would rather lose Maggs and NOT get a draft pick. Are draft picks something to be avoided?
  4. I think Konerko might get offered around, too. No one knows which PK will show up next year, the 2003 model or the 2004 model. Ozzie and Kenny might be willing to go with Gload. Not a bad hitter, good defense, and the greatest of all commodities -- he will have a low salary. He is not nearly the question mark he was in April.
  5. That was one of the LOW points of this season. What was Ozzie supposed to do? Charge the Twins dugout and go after Mr. Cheap Shot. Now that would lhave been spectacular.
  6. Why are you so certain Lee won't be around? He is signed, and he is hitting around .300 with reasonable HR and 2B numbers.
  7. If he really wanted to make it interesting, he should have put Jeremy Reed in the mix.
  8. You little kids who got offended by Ozzie's reaction should find another sport to follow. Not only was Ozzie right, he out-debated him, too. From the quote I saw, Ozzie is also smarter than BuckSho. I don't think there is any "real" baseball fan who wouldn't back up Ozzie. Showalter is baby.
  9. I believe you just called Kenny a crack head. Jose's agent, too.
  10. From Robbie to Valentine in one week. Jose is on something like a 17 for 130 streak, so we make him the DH.
  11. I bet he is untouchable -- again.
  12. Abnout 100 years ago I learned how to read by scouring the Trib's Sports Section. Box scored by age six.

His fastball looked like it was very straight.
  14. Is that an original thought?
  15. Seattle has a big time Japanese community.
  16. Rex, your analysis of Uribe cannot be evaluated unless we know to what other SS you are comparing him. If you are comparing him to Jose, I think Uribe would be much, much better. That kid from Clevelan, Omar, is a different story.
  17. Did you just describe Edgar, or did you describe yourself?
  18. Most young fans don't. If you do, then I'm with you. I just tried to express my respect for a record that has always been special to me. No Offense.
  19. Robbie was awful last year (after his first 2-3 wks with us) and has been worse this year. Plus, someone told me that he will be a year OLDER next year. If you can't (or won't) run out a grounder, go some place else. He is toast. Edgar Martinez says he is done, and he is 100 times the hitter Robbie is. Robbie needs to make a graceful exit. All of which makes Robbie a great candidate for DH, which was where I started this thread. I'm done.
  20. Sort of. But it is still accerbated by the fact that he can't play any more. Bad back or no bad back. Robbie should retire. Yesterday. Making him the DH today to see if he can contribute next year?? Come on. He can't possibly take up a roster space next year, can he?
  21. Konerko can be fairly secure since he has another year on his contract, plus he has had a pretty decent year. Last year he was untradable. Now he isn't.
  22. Do we suspend posters? I had no idea. But your Garland poster should know that he was signed to a multi-year contract last off season.
  23. Do you really think Robbie has "anything left in the tank?" That smacks of being very nieve. Who else can we DH? How about Timo; or Crede; or Davis; or Gload. Robbie is a joke, but I appreciate your loyalty. Really. And you really shouldn't go around saying you weren't insulted when someone insults you. And then he is too disabled to DH after two AB's? Robbie Alomar as DH in September, 2004 is a joke.
