  1. Yas, why didn't you include Gload in your list of positiives? Hitting over .320. Who's going to be trade bait, Gload or PK?
  2. Yeah, but the Sox will pay Garcia $27MM over the next three years, and the Mariners will pay Reed about $1MM over the next three years. I lthink they could have bought some pitching with that money, maybe even Garcia.
  3. How do you trade someone who is untouchable? The trade was stupid. What's next, Trade Anderson for Moyer? I hope Kenny doesn't read this s***, because I might have given him another stupid trade idea.
  4. Everett's presence on the 2005 White Sox means they will be playing with a 24 man roster, which means he will be on the DL for a bunch of contrived reasons.
  5. Rowand. Lee. Konerko. Uribe. Gload. Who'd have thunk it?
  6. What difference does it make? Kenny's going to trade them, anyway. Everyone likes Sweeney and Anderson, including other GM's. It's tough getting excited about Jeremy Reed now that he's traded.
  7. Hey, Rex: Which is more correct, "whatnot" or "what not?"
  8. Stupid trades do not excite me.
  9. Why does everybody on this board play Carlos against PK? It's not like they play the same position. Personally, I cannot see trading Lee at all. We are a weak offensive club, and he is hitting .300 with fair power and he hustles most of the time. No one on this team is going to replace him. PK, on the other hand, is more expendable, because he had a great year and he is replaceable (Gload). No one knows what kind of market value he has.
  10. Color Maggs gone. He doesn't want to play here period. In his own immortal words of last year, "We stink."
  11. I read JimH's post about three times, and I still don't know if I was called a knee jerk reactionary. I hated that trade from the get-go, although my criticism was softened after we sisgned Garcia. Reed should have been ruled untouchable, period. I can't remember when we had such a solid outfielder prospect who could do it all. Johnny Callison??? You just don't trade guys like that. Kenny shouldn't have even listened after Seattle brought up Reed's name. Just walk away. In the next three years the Sox will spend $27,000,000 on Garcia. Reed would have cost about $1MM in the next three years. Money aside, I would hate the trade anyway. Who's to say that we couldn't have gone after Garcia in the off season for the same money and still have Reed? Seattle has to be thrilled to death with the trade. Sure they wanted to trade Garcia to someone rather than get a draft choice. I would rather have Jeremy Reed than a draft choice, too. We could have had a 2005 outfield of Lee, Rowand, and Reed. Not now. Not ever. Kenny gets out-negotiated again. Where does Kenny keep his panic button? Next up to be traded: Anderson or Sweeney? Could be either, could be both. Every other GM in the majors will be going after them this winter.
  12. We traded someone who was untouchable just a few months earlier. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see two of our top three prospects traded in the off season. (Anderson , Sweeney, B-Mac). I don't think Kenny can resist. The Reed trade was utterly stupid.
  13. It was a good trade....................... for Seattle.
  14. Anytime the Sox get into serious trade talks, the other team will automatically bring up Anderson, Sweeney, BMac. Count on it. Kenny will have a "Fleece Me" sign on his forehead.
  15. Even Hawk said it on TV. It meant a lot. Someone should have gotten in his face, but no one stepped up. Sox went downhill quickly. The game became too tough.
  16. When the Indians were torn apart, part of it was because of Free Agency (Manny R) and they also had a bunch of promising young players. Have you checked out the Charlotte roster lately? Our most promising major league ready player was traded, and best four prospects are at LEAST one full year away, so next year looks bleak.
  17. If you were able to poll available Free Agents, and ask them which franchises they would like to be a part of and which they would not, where do you think they would place the White Sox? Other than Chicago being a great city for a jock, don't you think that the perception of the White Sox is a franchise on the way down? I don'dt expect any significant FA signings this winter.
  18. He might be pitching himself off the 2005 roster.
  19. Right, we can rebuild with all those great major league prospects at Charlotte.
  20. The 2003 trade for Everett, the 2003 trade for Robbie for starters. The Ritchie trade was soooooooooooooooooo bad that it will make up for every good trade he will ever make. Berry/Barry was just an embarassment, but so what? The 2004 trade for Robbie. The jury is still out on the Jeremy Reed give-away. The Schoenweis trade from the Angels. Giving away $8-10MM for Clayton just to do the Rangers a favor. Let me guess, you are a teen-ager.
  21. Why do you guys create a wish list of players who will never be traded for Konerko? Right now, no one knows the trade value he has, but it won't be Baldelli, Furcal, or Jones. Hopefully, Kenny will find out and not screw it up.
