Reed, Olivo, Morse. We gave up too much.
-
Oh, I forgot. 3. Seattle
-
Also, we will have to trim some one off both the Big roster as well as the 40 man roster. Anybody heard who?
-
1. Joe Borchard. He finally moved ahead of Reed in the MVP (Most Valuable Prospect) race. 2. Jaime Burke. He is probably # 1 now.
-
Let's all pull really hard for Anderson and Sweeney, because if they get a few hits, Kenny will trade them for an over the hill catcher who can't hit .200 and can't throw. Who sells stupid pills to Kenny?
-
Right. And he'll get a couple of wins for us this year, and then he will be gone, and Reed will have a big time career. And we gave up Oliva, too? Why would we give up one of the top prospects in all of baseball? Because we can. Go ahead and defend this trade. Take a poll. This was really dumb. I'm glad you endorse it. I don't.
-
Awful. I just knew Kenny was going to figure out how to get rid of Reed/Anderson/Sweeney. And he did it. What do you think they are saying in Seattle right now. Great Trade. Great Trade. So now we get Davis and his Mendoza Line BA, and his high salary, and we get Freddy and his 2-3 wins, and we will get a couple of draft picks next year for him, and then Kenny wil trade them in two years if they are any good. Every day I wake up and I say, Kenny, don't trade Reed. This is worse than the Alomar trade last year. and much worse than the Everett trade last year. Hey, Rex. You defended the Everett trade because none of the guys we lost were near to being ready for the Bigs. Can you say the same thing about Reed? Reed's sub-.300 average this year scared the s*** out of me, because I knew it would give stupid Kenny the excuse for trading him. Every other GM knew this kid is for real, so naturally we give him away to the lowest bidder. If Kenny would have gone to every team in the majors and say what would you give me for Jeremy Reed heads up, I am certain he would have gotten more. Instead he gets into this negotiation ploy, and he got butt f***ed. They broke him down like a shot gun. And we give up Olivo, too. Unbelievable. We gave up on Jeremy Reed for Freddy Garcia, and then gave away our best catcher for Ben f***ing Davis?/ Kenny: A Pox on your mansion.

April Fool, right?
-
It's easy to criticize Butter, and I have done so in the past, and I'm sure that he was a good competitor and a good teammate and all that s***, and his agent out negotiated the White Sox in his last contract with us, but all I can remember is how Cameron and Glaus just tattoed him, and every time he threw a gopher ball, he would get down in that stupid crouch and watch the ball go over the fence.

The official come eat your crow about Diaz thread
Old Socks replied to AngelasDaddy0427's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Someone please tell us how Diaz looked. Was he solid or lucky. Solid, I hope, because he is getting the ball again in a few days. I also noticed that everybody's (media) favorite manager, DustyBoy, left Zambrano in for a smooth 128 pitches in six innings. -
I was "watching" the game on CBSsportsline, and this kid must be something special. If he pitched ANYWHERE else he would have pitched a lot more and in games that were on the line, and he would be the biggest celebrity in town. By not using him, I bet we have blown and extra 4-6 games, although I cannot tell you which ones.

Whoever started this post was right about several things. Maggs for one. Ozzie for two. He stays with pitchers too long (Monoz, Koch). He was dead wrong not to play to win that Expos game. Jackson for three. Jackson for four.
-
Scrubs would be crazy to trade Patterson.
-
Rex, I gotta admit that I didn't know much about Teahen and Wood. This was my subtle way of getting a scouting report out of you. And, you must admit that Beltran is a bit higher on the food chain than Everett. They should have gotten more for him. I wish I knew what KW would have given up for Beltran, but it was obviously less than what the Royals received. Then again, center field is not our biggest priority.
-
No surprise there. He is the team's best player.
-
I was surprised the Royals didn't get more for him. We gave up more for Everett last year.
-
He had a similar pattern fwith the Rockies. Fast start followed by mid season blahs. I had hoped that Ozzie would work some magic and keep him on a steady path.
-
Jackson had a perfect inning against the Cubs Friday: One inning, one run.
-
Back to Jackson: he has been awful since the first 2-3 weeks or so of the season. It has been weeks since since he pitched at least one inning without a run.
-
It has to be some combination of whiskey and wild, wild women.
-
Ozzie got real lucky early in the season when he continued to leave Koch in and he got away with it a few times. Now he is getting burned.

Question on homerun balls at the Cubs-Sox series
Old Socks replied to BigNDfan80's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Only a very young Sox fan would even ask the question about whether or not to throw the ball back to the field. -
As I said about a week ago, he looks very releasable.

Are Coco and C.C. members of the same gang?
