  1. I crossed my fingers, my toes and my eyes that they would bring Robin back for one last hurrah. That didn't happen. It would be nice, but I just don't see it happening. He will be enshrined in Cooperstown for eternity as a White Sox, though.
  2. Howard Stern until the 16th. After that, maybe Johnny B. or Carmen & Silvy. Unless you have a talk show, using the word "personality" is a stretch. The DJs on Chicago radio are just horrid.
  3. Good luck to Frank. At least it's not the Twins, which had been rumored.
  4. QUOTE(Molto @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) whatever Guillen decides now, or even on April 1st, isn't set in stone for the rest of the season. Just because he says Uribe will bat second, and even if Uribe is batting second on opening day, it doesn't mean they can't change that as the season progresses. No harm in trying. Exactly. One of the best switches he did later in the season was putting Dye in the 3rd hole. Managers try to find the best lineup that works all the time.
  5. The A's are probably waiting until they don't have to give up a draft pick.
  6. Talk about a thin market for pitching. This guy's below .500 for his career. :headshake Also, Trevor Hoffman may be going to the Tribe:
  7. Aren't Juan Pierre and Scott Podsednik basically the same player? The only difference being Pierre gets more triples. I see no reason why the Sox need to get Pierre.
  8. Not surprising. I swear our dog laughs at us as he chews the hell out of our shoes, laundry, etc.
  9. So long, Hurt! You got your ring. Thanks for everything you've brought to this franchise. They'll have to move aside some numbers on the wall in the outfield when they retire your number.
  10. PAULIE!! PAULIE!!! We beat the Angels once again!! I love it. This also proves what a class act, Paulie is. Anaheim offers a similar deal and chooses to come back. This is going to be the best lefty-righty combo in Sox history. So what does Kenny do now? Get a backup infielder? Boy, he'll have a stressful rest of the offseason

    Prison Break

"Prison Break" is awesome. I have to wait until March? I wonder if they're going to break out? Nice to see the preview for "24" That show, by far, is the most addicting on television.
  12. So how long until we see the Photoshopped-Thome-in-a-Sox hat avatar?
  13. As long as Thome is healthy, I like it. Especially since we're getting him for a "modest" price.
  14. Rowand, I guess you'll have to win your Gold Gloves in Philly. I hope you don't get traded for awhile, because I want to cheer for you when I visit Philadelphia next summer.
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) It's possible he could be back if the Sox don't sign Konerko. My thoughts exactly. Although, I'm hoping Thome is healthy enough to play 1B everyday.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) I think the real key part of this is that it solves our DH problem in a cost-effective manner and reduces salary (assuming Anderson replaces Rowand in CF), thereby freeing up quite a bit of green that can be shoved in Konerko's way. Think about this...we paid Carl Everett what, $4 million last season? We paid Aaron rowand what, $2 million or so? If you add up what those guys would make...that covers what we'll be paying of Thome's deal. Which means that the money saved by dropping Thomas's salary with the buyout is now officially freed up - we're not committing $12 million to Delgado or antyhing like that. ...And it might give KW two options, if he can't sign Konerko, then he can try and re-sign Thomas.
  17. Just wondering, how could this make Konerko come back. Could this spell the end of him? Could Konerko see Thome as a replacement for him?
  18. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) There's a case involving the Cubs and White Sox on Judge Mathis right now. Judge Mathis!! I used to work for that show!
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Yeah, but he doesn't get to face Jim Parque anymore QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) Good numbers as long as we keep in mind the pitching we had. Those numbers seem pretty clutch to me. Don't forget, he'll be facing the Royals & Tigers pitching 19 times at the Cell next year, too.

    "My Humps"

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) I typed this from memory: Jennifer Lopez should be singing this song, not Fergie.
  21. Now that it's official: Glad to have him back.
  22. Subway - if I ever go, it's gotta be Meatball Marinara. Best Subs ever: Jimmy John's Capt N' Nemos Cousins
  23. -The only exciting plan I have this weekend is to mosey over to City Hall during lunch.
  24. Looks I'll be making a special trip on my lunch break, camera in hand.
