  1. Really happy that Weber has finally done what it takes to start getting talent, even though I really have no ties to UoI besides being in same state I do enjoy watching their bball/football team.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 06:26 PM) it's kind of like quitting Soxtalk Except soxtalk is way harder to quit, out of my capabilities.
  3. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 06:16 PM) Haha, funny you should say that. You were the one calling Hawes a stiff, and a career back-up at best who couldn't rebound. I went through the old NBA threads and draft threads last night, some VERY good stuff in there. There was A LOT of praise for both the Noah and Tyrus picks. Hindsight is 20/20... I dont exactly remember all that, Im still not a big fan of Hawes anyways, but definitely never was behind Noah.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 12:52 AM) Remember when people were clamoring about how much Aldridge and Hawes sucked and how Thomas and Noah were much better picks? no? atleast not here for most part.
  5. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Dec 15, 2008 -> 04:34 PM) According to Boers and Bernstein, Pat Williams is out 2-6 weeks with a shoulder injury. Too bad it's too little too late. Still very important for next weeks game, the Falcons are a running team and the Vikings just lost their best run stopper.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2008 -> 05:53 PM) Why is that? Bradford had the best numbers of the bunch. Tebow should have been last on everyones ballot as he probably shoudnt have even been one of the 3 finalists. Ah I had to edit because I saw above that Tebow's intangibles were a major factor. Personally I think McCoy had a better season than Bradford, and I think he had a worse team around him too.
  7. Why exactly do the Vikings have the tie breaker vs us if we tie, assuming we beat GB but lose to the Texan... and they lose to falcons/giants same division and conference record.
  8. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Dec 13, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Typing Estrada just makes me think of that piece of s*** Darin ERSTAD and the horrid 2007 season. :shudder: why is Erstad a piece of s***?
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 13, 2008 -> 02:34 AM) His laziness probably wouldn't make Cabrera walk just as many batters as he strikes out though... No doubt, but you posted a stat about wild pitches, and while Cabrera does have poor control it doesnt help any if you have a lazy catcher behind the plate.
  10. Wasnt Ramon Hernandez, the Orioles catcher accused of being pretty lazy behind the plate too?
  11. Twice now Orton has missed Hester while he was open deep, luckily one of the times it was called a pass interference. There was a 3rd pass too that was fairly accurate but pass interference there too.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 10:06 PM) Most idiotic statement ever. Not really, Orton hasnt done anything this season to show he is better than Grossman at all. Obviously neither are the answer, but Orton is probably among other things costing us this game. The fact we cant get any offense going at all against such a horrible defense, its pathetic.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) It was behind him...should have been a big play for the Bears. It wasnt a great pass, but thats a very catchable ball... thats all on Davis for not catching it.
  14. When will Rashied Davis finally stop get playing time, he hurts the team way more than he helps.
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) $8.5M over 2 years is a s*** load of money to be paying a utility guy. Wasnt aware they gave him that much, why would a team so financially tight give that much money to a scrub like Punto.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 08:46 PM) Twins signed Punto today. I can't see them signing OC. I find it hard to believe that any team, especially one hoping to contend for the playoffs would have Nick Punto as a starter, I have no problems with him as a utility guy, but he is a pretty poor starter.
  17. well this settles it, the fumbling of the snap wasnt on Grossman, Kreutz has always been the one to blame.
  18. I really think Hester needs a much reduced role as a WR, his returning has been abysmal. I think in the off-season he should give up the WR dream and go back to what he excels at.
  19. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 07:17 PM) It doesnt get any better that that. Holy sh*t Manning was shot out of a cannon. Crappy kick, but Manning hit a crease and just took off could of been a disaster after corey graham took away the sack by alex brown with a penalty, but nice job by the defense and mike brown in getting an interception.
  20. to be fair the Rangers have some pluses. They have a top3 farm system without a doubt, than ontop of that they got some good young talent on big league club already with chris davis, david murphy, ian kinsler, salty, and hamilton is a stud.
  21. Laird really isnt all that good, I know all my friend(Texas Rangers friend) would do is complain about him constantly. The real question is the Rangers still have a logjam at the catching position with Ramirez, Teagarden, and Salty so we could see another traded.
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2008 -> 01:52 PM) Wow, that's a lot of abbreviations. I honestly couldn't figure out all of those starters. Clayton Richard, Aaron Poreda, and Jeff Marquez
  23. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Dec 7, 2008 -> 01:41 PM) money, age, and defense not great You must really set the bar high for a player to be good defensively.
  24. Nice start for the bears, interception and looks like returned to the 1 yard line after the review.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 4, 2008 -> 09:17 AM) He's "fixed" as many pitchers, if not more in his career than Cooper. Cooper won't be able to fix this guy. FWIW, there isn't a person dead or alive that would have been able to do anything with the personnel Mazzone was given in Baltimore. Dont you think some of what made Mazzone seem so good is the calibur of pitchers he was able to work with, for the majority of his time in Atlanta he had Glavine, Maddux, and Smoltz and those 3 make any pitching coach look good. Not to mention they are pitching in a great pitchers park, I mean honestly nobody really flourished in Baltimore under him. Also, sometimes a guy just needs a different way of learning things and it clicks, regardless if Coop is a better pitching coach or not.
