  1. Hawk and stone were hoping for jones to swing at that 3-0 pitch. Coming into today the sox have had 53 3-0 counts seen. Zero times has a player swung.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) Trivia question: What are the maximum number of outs in an inning? QUOTE (Brian @ May 4, 2010 -> 03:46 PM) 6? Six is the right answer. The question that was asked is the maximum number of outs in an inning. Not strikeouts. They are two entirely different animals. They are recorded differently. Theoretically though, infinity strikeouts in a half inning is a possibility.

QUOTE (T R U @ May 1, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) Ill be honest with you, aside from far less jokes from Freddy I didn't really see a big difference between the two versions.. I thought they did a good job of establishing the story, and unlike other horror remakes there was a lot more to this film than just a gore fest.. which, it wasn't even really much of that either.. I recently watched all seven in the nightmare on elm street series in two days. Dream warriors (third one) is the one in which the ball really gets rolling humor wise. New nightmare (the seventh) is pretty damn awesome as far as i'm concerned, though there are people who hate it. I'm convinced they do not understand what wes craven was intending. Anyway i'm gonna put on motel hell now... i will be disappointed if you have not seen it flash.
  4. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 06:20 PM) Anybody else miss Swisher's defense????? LOL Appeared to me like that was not the smartest fan in the world swisher had to deal with.

  6. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 30, 2010 -> 01:24 AM) Well that's just not true at all. Sure he's hitting .467 but Miguel Montero, EY Jr. and Marcus Thames are all hitting .500. Thames is at .588.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 11:44 PM) Maybe, but I hope you don't think he's actually a good hitter, run producer. He's not. I'd stick Beckham there. On average you do not expect runs produced from your lead-off hitter. He is in the very worst position possible to knock in runs every game. To start of the game a lead-off hitter is guaranteed to not have an opportunity to knock it a run. Then from that point on the worst batters in the line-up bat in front of him... generally with the worst ability on the team to reach base. Beckham will be far more wasted lead-off role in comparison to teahen. The terrible thing is this team does not exactly have a legitimate option after pierre, and by that i mean teahen is in no way a good option. In the two hole they are set rather well, potentially speaking.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 11:41 PM) That's true, but stats don't really matter in this case. He had so many runs to work with and he finished the game with us up on top. Leave the criticism for when we lose the darn game is how I look at it. You contradicted yourself. First you said that's true, then just two sentences you contradict yourself. I don't get it, what is it?
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) What am I missing here. We won the f***ing game today. And he finished the game. Who the f*** cares if he gave up a few runs or whatever. He had 4 runs to work with and gave up what, two? I don't understand the b****ing on here when we f***ing win the game. Concerns should not just be reserved for losses. In nearly every game you can point out positives and negatives, win or lose.
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 07:34 PM) Then you and everyone else is wrong. I hear people say "I could care less" an awful lot even though it's incorrect, doesn't mean I'd be right if I said it. I am the only one that is right.
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) The pitch f/x pitch speed data isn't tracked using any kind of gun. It's a sensor camera that picks up the pitch several times on it's way to the plate and determines the speed of the pitch that way, it's incredibly accurate and can determine the location of a pitch to within 1 half inch, so their pitch location data (such as strikezone plots) is just about right on. I have seen people refer to it as a pitch f/x gun. Pitch f/x is several times more in-depth than your standard radar gun, as it does calculate velocity... not to mention a great deal more. I don't believe i was incorrect.
  12. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) Do they use the same gun for these pitchFX stats as the TV crews use? Toronto seemed to have a slow gun as well. Or maybe the cell is just fast, I don't know. But I find it hard to believe that all of our pitchers are seemingly losing and gaining several MPH from appearance to appearance. Entirely different type of gun. Several times more in depth than a standard radar gun. Sportsvision created pitch f/x... they are the same company that created the 1st and 10 system (yellow line) used in football.
  13. Konerko closing the gap a little. Seven homers at home and now three on the road... which is nice to see considering how terrible he has been on the road thus far. Jenks has got to be watched closer than ever.
  14. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) This is going to come back to bite us in the ass. We cannot have a closer who lets a man on every inning. His W.H.I.P is a tragedy. If he let just one man on per inning that would be terrific. You couldn't ask for too much more than that. The problem is he is averaging nearly two men.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Its not THAT early. He'd have to go 4-for-4 twice, even then I'm not sure. If he were to do that he would be at a .284 average and a .378 obp.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) 95 mph tops 95.23 average last night... and topped out at 97.1. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfx/index.ph...mp;prevDate=428
  17. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:21 PM) You do realize that this would destroy him, right? He'd go all tell-tale heart on Harold and whatever poor bastard on the bench got in his wayl Remember when you said ''enough'' to jphat about podsednik? Well, enough, we get it.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:12 PM) I'd love to know what his inherited runners score is. I missed most of this half inning doing s*** around the house. Prior to this inning though it was 70%.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) Has someone hitting under .200 ever hit 30+ homers in a major league season? Rob Deer? Dave Kingman? The funny thing is that if you look at Quentin's minor league stats and 2008, you would think he would be a consistent .270-.310 hitter for 15 years. Never been done. Kingman did hit .204 with a league leading 37 homers in 1982 though.
  20. Ramirez and his first walk all season.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:51 AM) I know exactly how you feel. And if I have to see his carbon copy groundout to second one more time I am going to throw my remote through the screen. I hope you are looking around for a new television.
  22. Figgins just might not continue his 32.4% strikeout rate this season.
