  1. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) i think the Eagles want him. I can't imagine that the Eagles would want another Drew Rosenhaus client. And saying that, I don't know how I feel about having a Drew Rosenhaus client.
  2. I think this is a team built for cold weather. Which favors us in October, obviously. They are a slap hit, steal second, single in a run team. Which is perfect for the teams we may be playing against in the playoffs (except for Oakland). If they can get back to smart ball or whatever it's called these days, I can't see the Sox slumping anymore. C'mon mother nature.

    Question...

    Ignorance is bliss...
  4. Matthew Lillard or Ice Cube
  5. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) I wouldn't try to do it all in one summer, but it could be done. Hell, one time it was done in exactly 30 days. However, i think you'd get burnt out/homesick/whatever being on the road for as long as it took to get all 30 parks done. You could also plan travel better by not doing it in one summer. I think the best way to do it would be over 4 trips, doing "loops" of the NE, SE, SW, an NW. Something like that. I just think all 30 in one summer would be kind of nuts. Dude, stop being so damn practical. Seriously, why not. The hardest part is going to be the West coast because the stadiums aren't as close as the East Coast or Midwest. And as for sponsors, if you put a twist on what you are doing, then it may be easier. Y'know, like the specialty food at different parks (which I think has been done) or finding the best fan or tailgating or something along those lines. Good luck in your journey!!!
  6. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) Well if your not willing to give up what the Reds were quoted themselves as asking for him, then this talk is all moot because he wouldn't be coming anyway... By the way i'm not advocating trading Mark Buherle for KGJ, I was just making a point... You can't expect to get someone like that for some prospects that might never see day light... If you want a real talent you have to give up real talent... That last line is right, in the world called No Contracts. If JR says, it's okay Kenny, pick up all of Player X's contract, let's say, oh I don't know, $41.5 million over four years with a $4.5 mil buyout option for the 4th, and give them some lower level prospects, that might do it. Because their season is over and like someone said, they can use that money to get some pitching in the offseason. I'm also not saying it's going to happen, but with contracts and how much each is going to pay, that could raise or lower the level of players going to a team. What Kenny should be doing is selling the Lee for Pods and Viz trade. Gave away a big hitter, but got 5 in return by saving money.
  7. They were in South Bend for a few years. I don't know why they changed, but I think you have a great idea. Although, no matter where the team is, if the affiliation is long enough, it creates a fan base.
  8. There are people who hate Clemens, but you can't underestimate his accomplishments on the field.
  9. I think he's hilarious in the Motel 6 commercial where he is a coach going thru his signs.
  10. I'm guessing that this is an injury that his doctor in Vegas would want to keep an eye on. If there is rehab going on right now, and I"m not sure if there is, I'm sure Herm could do a great job, but it's probably easier around Big Frank's doctor, since this is a recurring injury. Does anyone know if he calls members of the team to give them support? Email? Snail Mail? Seriously, just because he is not with the team, doesn't mean he's not with the team. And Podsednik's injury needed rest, not a cast. He wasn't told to stay off of the leg, nor was he put in a soft cast. Nor was he out for the season. And did you forget the two days he spent in Charlotte and not with the Sox? Should Pods have been with the Sox or on a rehab assignment? Frank has done and said a lot of stupid things in his career, but not being at games this year after possibly rushing back from his previous injury (only saying that because he injured it again) is not something to get in a huff over.
  11. As Juggs said, it's not the 102 mph pitch that gets ya, it's the Gacker he throws. He made Lew Ford look like a b**** with the three he hurled. If you have it in the back of your head that a 100 mph fastball could be coming and this 87-95 mph curve comes at ya, you gawn. 100 mph fastballs, on their own, don't do much of anything for a pitcher unless there is movement on it or an awesome off-speed pitch (see: Matt Anderson, Kyle Farnsworth). the double that Sexson hit...that will come with experience. As he pitches more and faces more batters, he'll begin to know their hot zones.
  12. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) How much clearer can he be? Some of you are living in some serious denial, he's not coming get over it! As long as people are asking about it...we here at Soxtalk and all over the sports world will discuss it. At Midnight September 1st will we know if he's coming here or not. Until then, let the talk continue!!!
  13. Blum made Rodriguez look like an idiot with that slide. He had nothing to argue about and neither did the guy taking over for Gardenhire. It was a thing of beauty and very hard to pull that leg back while sliding. But it was a fantastic phantom swipe tag!!!
  14. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) first save for jenks Give that man a shaving cream pie!!!
  15. Bobby "The Hammer" Jenks. My knees buckled on that pitch.

I think you should just slash his tires.
  18. QUOTE(Benson&Rexage @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 04:14 AM) Allways. Musical Youth is a great band. Pass the dutchie on the left hand side. B&R, why is Billy Ocean's crotch glowing in your avatar? It's FREAKIN' ME OUT!!!

    Ummm.. ouch.

    QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) . . . his ears. I'm sorry...what did you say? Just got my ears cut off.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) I'm not a pineapple person, but my dad would whoop ya on that. He loves getting canadian bacon and pineapple, but I think he does that simply because he knows I'll whine about having it having pineapple on it But don't knock on our mexican food, cause it owns all. We got better mexican food than mexico. um...no. Come to Texas. THAT's Mexican food. And Steff...I love ya, but it's hot dog-ketchup intervention time. The first step is admitting you have a dog-ketchup problem.
  21. Aramis. My dad would wear it when I was younger...that is one of my favs. The smell of hockey rinks. Just from playing at the Skatium in Skokie.
  22. I hope she makes a great first wife!!! Congrats and have fun!!!
  23. Los...here's to you...finally someone with some perspective. AND when Pods is back and healthy, which many of you seem to have forgotten that he is the catalyst, this team will be winning 2 of 3 again.
  24. Kenny is on the phone calling other GM's to see if he can get a bat. But, you and I wouldn't know that because, well, it's none of our damn business until he gets it done. AGAIN, I have faith in Kenny that he is trying to get something done. Will he? I don't know. But he can't wave a magic wand and make something happen. He can offer the damn farm, literally, and the other team may not want it. It happens, y'know.
