  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) Freddie Mitchell should just shut the f*** up, you'd think by now he'd figure out that he sucks and noone gives a s*** about what he thinks. He just talked himself out of Philly and right into the arms of some crap-ass team as their 4th or 5th WR. What a dumbass.
  2. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) Doesn't this Scott guy work for whitesox.com? Yessiree, pop. But, that's probably why he was hired to write this blurb. Who knows the White Sox better than the beat reporter.
  3. Happy Birthday, Ribbie...say hi to the San Diego Chicken for me.
  4. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) Because the NFL sucks. Don't just say "it's the NFL." That holds no value to me. You work with a bunch of egotistical punks. College players listen a helluva lot more. I can summarize this saying what i heard Taylor say after Saban got hired. Sunday night NFL game, and they ask him about Saban and he says "i don't care about Saban." They are bunch of pricks. The college game is more fun, more rewarding. To keep developing players and winning national championships is still something you can prove. It doesn't just "end." I also disagree that it's time to move to the next level always. You don't see carroll going anywhere do you? College and NFL are both highly respected leagues. Hell, i put them on the same prestige level. I don't like when everyone jumps ship to the NFL. Saban leaving, Chow leaving, etc, that's bad for the game. Hmm, why is Spurrier coming back? Overall this is a money move IMO, i think it's disappointing. Both Carroll and Spurrier got a taste of the NFL and both were mediocre. Chow wants it. He can always go back into the NCAA if he wants. How does he know if he can do it if he doesn't try?
  5. I thought they already dumped Matt Anderson...exactly the same type of pitcher...100 mph fast ball with the arm, Shingo frisbee in the head.
  6. Bruce Weber's motion offense should make the game feel fast no matter what the other team is doing. When it is running smoothly, there is always somebody cutting, picking, moving without the ball, passing. It's like a half-court fast break. They were definitely tired...mentally and physically. With some rest, watch out Wisconsin. I hope Richard McBride can pick it up a little and spell the guards, I think all three played the entire second half last night.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) I was at the game last night, and I was scared s***less. I was getting really worried after that Dee lost control of the ball on the fast break. I thought that just summed up the whole problem with the night, but I was wrong. Dee was the one who single handedly brought us back in the game. You prolly didn't hear it, but Steve Lavin said it best on the broadcast, something along the lines of, "As a coach, you don't mind a turnover like that, because it means you are being aggressive." And at that moment, I slicked my hair back and felt a true and genuine love for another man. :puke
  8. QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) Everybody's looking for a quick fix or a get rich quick scheme. And if killing your body from the inside out is what it takes, so be it. Sad. What happened to integrity and self-respect? it's all about the benjamins...
  9. What no "expert" talks about, or even can truly know about, are the intangibles. Chemistry, enjoyment, coaching, offseason programs. I mean, Ozzie wants these guys to have fun playing, that says something. What if Crede and even Borchard fix those long-ass swings, Everett is 15-20 lbs. lighter, and Contreras stops throwing as many splitters? It could happen and make this team better. And then of course, there is 2000. That team gelled right after the fight with Detroit (damn Robert Fick). You can't predict those things. And you can't know what's going to happen during the regular season. Without injuries last year, I bet the Sox win the division. Who would know in ST last year that Maggs and Frank would go down with season ending injuries?
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) I read it wrong. And I agree with you about him being an attention whore.. and that it doesn't mean he's lying. It happens...I'm always happy to point out other people's foibles. Only reinforces the fact that I'm perfect!!! I hope Canseco doesn't meet any current or former MLB player in a dark alley, especially if he isn't doing 'roids anymore, cuz he's gonna get his ass kicked.
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) Rodriguez says... "I categorically deny any assertion made by Jose Canseco that I used steroids," Palmeiro said in a statement. "At no point in my career have I ever used steroids, let alone any substance banned by Major League Baseball. As I have never had a personal relationship with Canseco, any suggestion that he taught me anything, about steroid use or otherwise, is ludicrous." Then says... “I am in shock. Surprised. He is saying things that are not true, and it pains me much that he says such things because I have always had much respect for him, and moreover, I helped him many times when things weren't going well for him”, Rodriguez said in the Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Dia. I don't normally help people I don't have at least a friendship (which would be a personal relationship, no?) with... Steff...the first quote says, "Palmeiro said in a statement." And the second says "Rodriguez said in the Puerto Rican..." It's either a typo or you read it wrong. But, just because you don't have a personal relationship with someone, doesn't mean you don't have a "professional" relationship. Doesn't prove anything to me. Canseco may be an attention whore, but that doesn't mean he's lying.
  12. I hope Wanita Young chokes on that $900. Now these girls have been told by a crotchity old woman and the state of Colorado that doing nice things can get you sued. Thanks Wanita... the "sugar" cookies will be in the mail shortly.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 4, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) ROFL @ that pic. Funny thing is my school had to make a rule of no sexual dances and you have to be at least 6 inches apart because panties and condoms were found on dance floors at my school... That could cause some major slip-and-falls... Lawyer: Did you see the item you slipped on? Injured: A condom. Lawyer: Did you see anyone else slip? Injured: My date stepped on a condom, too, but it was ribbed, so it had traction.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 4, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) I forgot about him until you mentioned it. I was more wondering how Lorne Greene was feeling. Not too well by the looks of it.
  15. In Rob Neyer's Mailbag this week, he admits the mistake he made about Jermaine Dye (sort of, he throws his source under the bus). And says to take the Sox off the list and replace them with the Reds or the Phillies. It's an insider article, so your going to have to get bugmenot or go to the lite version, if there is one. Here's the link for Insider members http://proxy.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?id=1984248
  16. QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Feb 4, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) Agreed. Agreed Done and done.
  17. Found this interesting tidbit about Ferris Bueller's Day Off:
  18. And from the website http://www.sandlotshrink.com/moviebb.htm
  19. According to imdb.com: http://www.imdb.com/List?endings=on&&locat...Illinois,%20USA
  20. Keep it, but bury it for a couple years. Down the road, all will be forgiven and he'll still be considered one of the best Sox players ever. That is unless he wins a WS with someone else and is the MVP.
  21. 1B: Push 2B: should go to Walker if only because we have never seen Iguchi in the majors yet. 3B: Aramis until Crede does something with the bat SS: In the past, Nomar. As of right now, push. LF: Pods CF: Rowand, but if this "Potential" ever comes out, Patterson prolly will overtake Rowand on sheer talent. That's a BIG IF. RF: Dye Starting Pitching: Push. Relief Pitching: Sox, but not by as much as some people here think. Bench: Sox I've got White Sox 5, Cubs 2 and 3 push. Oh Cubune, money can't buy happiness.
  22. The Sox blew it when the built new Comiskey. It should've been where the old McCormick place is. Right on the water and open to the city. But, it is where it is and Addison, while a nice town would be hard for city folk to get to.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) I agree. I mean.. why, if it's (clearly) not the best way to perform the proceedure, would they continue to do so. Especially for the health and comfort of their flesh and blood..?? That's the point, there is no asking why? Even though it could be a health hazard. Why do some Muslims see the only way of proving a point is by suicide bombing? As I'm sure you know, in religion, and especially any orthodox sect of religion, you do it because it's written that way. Then, it's up to G-d.
  24. Please Ribbie...wear pants for the next 1000.
  25. Oh AC Slater, where hath your career gone?
