Palmer has a terrific frame and moves his feet well. It's a real mystery why he career has been so piss poor. Good game tonight though. Between that 25 footer for Taylor and that sick block by the Iowa player, it made for some excitement for two offensively inept teams.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 01:01 AM) Hows the attendance been for Illinois games? It doesnt look like there is anyone there tonight. It was full save for very few empties up top. The sideline students had to sit for part of the game for some reason and I think that limited how many they could put there.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 18, 2009 -> 12:30 AM) No way...MSU played as bad as they possibly could for the first 30 minutes today. I've never seen them have more unforced turnovers. MSU is too good on the boards to be dominated in a 10 game series by the Illini. Not debating the series, but Illinois was in the same boat. McCamey had the worst game of basketball he'll ever play, Meacham couldn't put a ball into the ocean and Legion had a bunch of unthinkable unforced TOs. All and all it was an ugly game.

I'd go with MSU and Illinois 1 and 2 since those are the only two not to lose at home. Well I guess OSU hasn't either, but they have beaten Iowa and Indiana. Truth be told the BT is a jumbled mess from 1 to Penn State.

McCamey picked a heckuva time to have the worst game of his career. Meacham too. Surprised it was that close given how miserable those two are. Alex Legion really picked them up, despite his own moronic turnovers. He's got an NBA-style game.

A doomsday scenario for O. Cabrera/Sox
QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 07:56 PM) Can you trade a recently signed free agent? The article states not until the next June, but in this case, Cabrera would waive that right.

Griffin Second team would be Lawson, McNeal, Jordan Hill, Singler, Harangody Third team would be Collison, Jerrells, Monroe, Evan Turner, and Hansbrough Replace Blair with Psycho T and you have mine.

1. I doubt the commish office would approve of this, even if their main stuff is looking at salary. 2. That would completely ruin any thoughts of the Marlins talking to us as long as KW has a job. It wouldn't help things with the Yankees, either.

I usually hate the sports guy but he had an article on wrestling in ESPN the mag. I always knew he was a huge fan because he references it a lot. Anyways, he says he has stopped watching since the Benoit thing (which I don't believe him, but whatever). This made him realize how punished the wrestlers are, etc. As a solution he suggested an offseason for wrestling. I thought it was interesting, and, in addition to freshening up the wrestlers, I think it would certainly freshen up the storylines. Maybe end it with SummerSlam for 3 or 4 months, then have a big "opening day" Raw and lead into the Rumble as your big event. I think it would work, as I believe some fans need a break just as the performers do.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 07:23 PM) So far we have ISU as probably the best backcourt in the country, and Ill with a top 10 back court. Neither team is ranked and neither has a lottery pick on the roster. Is there some possibility that there is ALOT of homerism going on here? Well that's a misquote if I ever heard one. I said if Legion and McCamey play to their abilities, which so far has not been the case, they were a top 15 one when put with two other pretty good guards.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 08:03 PM) You can't honestly say that Ill's back court would be even close to ill st. Of course you can. When McCamey wants to play and if Legion is as good as advertised (if the Purdue game is any indication, then he is), Illinois has a top 15, borderline top 10 back court. That may sound like a lot question marks, but mind you they join two pretty damn good guards already in Meacham and Frazier.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 3, 2009 -> 08:11 AM) I'm going to jump in here and just say: ISU has played absolutely NOBODY and that can't be argued. But it also can't be argued that they have one of the best back courts in the nation. I honestly don't know how good they are yet but Champ and Osiris are that good. They'd be able to play with a lot of teams. Illinois backcourt is probaly just as court when McCamey wants to play, not to mention the Illini's far, far superior front court.

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 03:01 AM) My overall response more had to deal with a certain aspect of Illini fans who think there's a conspiracy every game against them by the refs. There is a conspiracy in the Big Ten to help the home team. Well, not so much a conspiracy, more like a celebrated tradition.

Illinois did not play particularly good at all and still beat one of the two Big Ten faves. I like that. It's like the bizzaro version of last year's team.

It was cute watching Purdue complain about the refs tonight. Never mind the free throw total. US? HAND CHECK? NO!
