Can we bring in Peavy for long relief?

Why wouldn't you walk Delmon there to set up the double play?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 12:51 AM) just throw the curve He's fallen in love with that 85 mph slider this year. What an awful inning by Gavin.

Is this the worst lineup we've faced against the Twins during this generation of players?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 12:42 AM) I am SHOCKED that he didn't get that run in. Amazed. BUT HE SHOWS UP TO THE PARK FIRST FOR EXTRA BATTING PRACTICE

PATHETIC! But I'm sure some random single he'll have with none on and 2 outs will be praised by some.

Awful swings by Morel. Basically chopped at the ball on an 0-1 swing with someone on 3rd.

Great first two at bats this inning. Don't you dare ground out to right Morel.

Jake Peavy willing to go to the bullpen
QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) Furthermore, why are you so upset about it? Its not your money. We don't even know if its the white sox money or some insurance company's money. Cause it's 17 million dollars that could have been spent elsewhere to improve the team? Same reason a lot of people were upset about the pointless Jackson for Hudson trade.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) Stop living in the moment and realize that this second doesn't last forever. That's way too deep for me

Jake Peavy willing to go to the bullpen
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) When he is healthy is a lot different than he is an ace. No one has any idea what type of pitcher he'd be now even if he was healthy. Too many things have changed from 3-4 years ago. I don't think he's ever going to rediscover a consistent 94-95 mph fastball as well as a devastating slider.

Jake Peavy willing to go to the bullpen
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) Garland was a solid middle of the rotation pitcher at his peak who got way to much crap from Sox fans. If Peavy is healthy he is a legitimate ace. The comparison of them is terrible. Didn't you just say earlier that there weren't a lot of people on here saying this?

Jake Peavy willing to go to the bullpen
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) Are you really putting Jon Garland and Jake Peavy into the same league? Well, one person accomplished a lot with the Sox yet fans still didn't like him as much as they should have...and the other one is the complete opposite.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) Who the heck is that? I think he was on Toronto last year. Hawk had a 9 inning erection every game we played them discussing how strong he was.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 09:02 PM) Raburn just isn't that good of a player, think of Tyler Colvin, came up and hit well but is now pretty much the suckage people thought beforehand. I mean, he's already 30 years old. Wasn't he pretty damn good last year?

Jake Peavy willing to go to the bullpen
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) We're that desperate for peanuts? Well, when Jeff Francis is supposed to be one of the biggest names on the market, I wouldn't be so quick to say Jackson couldn't get you anything.

Jake Peavy willing to go to the bullpen
QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) I think you are romanticizing this team and the game a little bit. I don't think these guys get distracted so easily. They are paid professionals, most of them have been doing this for years. They might perform worse in roles they aren't used to, but I don't see them losing focus because one of their teammates gets hurt a few times a year. In fact, they are used to him getting hurt, too. When you have to go to a 6 man rotation and have fewer guys in the bullpen, then it disrupts your team (especially given the lack of depth in our pen). The biggest disappointment about Peavy's inability to stay healthy this year is we can't trade Jackson if we want to.

Jake Peavy willing to go to the bullpen
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 08:55 PM) In other words...there's still a good number of reasons to look at that team and think they're "April Cleveland-ing" it right now. Well, if you want to say Peralta is overachieving, then I'd suggest that Raburn is underachieving and likely to improve as season goes on. No one talks about how ridiculous the Indians bullpen has been this year, and that's why they won so many games the first two months.

Erstad has to be included on this, as well as any pitcher drafted in the 8th round or lower out of college because they had to fight to make the majors.

Hawk's Irrational Dream Team
I swear, every time we faced the A's last year, he told the same story of how great Suzuki is and how smart the A's were for locking him up to a multi-year deal.
