Buehrle Fest
Offman is still predicting that a deal is done by tomorrow morning, while Levine is reporting about the agent/Hahn meeting today, but nothing is imminent. It's comical to hear Offman state though that the only thing they were saying yesterday is that intermediaries have been talking for a while, and they have an idea about what type of money they're looking for. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) He must have gotten a really nice offer in the last 24-48 hours... My prediction is it's from the Dodgers for Billingsley and Ethier. I'd just like to state that I'm happy with this deadline, as the last thing I wanted to see happen is to keep Buehrle for this entire year and then lose him during the offseason for only 2 draft picks.

Farmer said that Buehrle wants 14 million a year.....I'm 100 pct sure that's the number he stated. Friday deadline, here we come. If I didn't know better, I might think that this is a ploy by the Sox to make it look like they tried their best to re-sign him, but that they just couldn't agree on the numbers. If he doesn't re-sign, we'll probably see him traded before he can start next week at the Cell. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/wh...-ssep28.article

Chris Benoit...
Turned on Off the Record before, and it's pathetic how the media is trying to pin this all because of steroids.

Quite entertaining watching Buehrle act like he has no clue what's going on during the postgame. QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 02:55 AM) of course their talking... hmmm the agent for Buerhle hes been there, sox send assistant to flordia, rumors heating up about what is going on all over chicago specualting about what could happened. This isnt going to die down. So this might be going on for awhile It will be resolved within the next 2 days.

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 02:13 AM) I don't care it's 93 or 103 as long as it gets people out. Well, maybe if he had the 97 mph fastball again, he could pitch in tied games or go longer than one inning. Nice win....keep the mojo up, and sign Buehrle in the next few days.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 02:10 AM) While Buerhle has a better era and record, Javy has matching peripheral's with mroe strikeouts. THey have given up the same number of homers in the same number of innings with nearly matching BAA and Walk totals. Simply put: vazquez has been extraordinarily unlucky. Mark's been great no doubt but Javy has had bad luck and terrible run support. His 1.12 whip and 83/23 K-B is outstanding I swear, Vazquez must get unlucky every year. There's a reason Buehrle is 40 games over .500, and Vazquez is below .500 in his career.

93 mph fastball for Jenks?

White Sox Devil Rays, 6/27/07 (W)
Jenks has the Hermanson warning track pitching going these days.

Andy Gonzalez: SuperSub or Superman?
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 02:06 AM) Thats why I think New York is the only logical destination. Maybe to Arizona since Livian Hernandez is there. I've thought Seattle could be a place for him. Not sure if they're friends or not, but they have Bettancourt.

Andy Gonzalez: SuperSub or Superman?
Contreras is such a class act. I'm sure KW wouldn't trade him to a place he knows he wouldn't want to go to.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 01:21 AM) Wel Javy has been our best pitcher this year so I wouldn't get mad about having him. He's part of a solution, not part of the problem especially at his respectable contract How can you say Javy's been better than Garland and Buehrle?

Anyone else think it says "Gay Clubs" behind home plate? Nice hit by Pods there....if he was out at 3rd, Hawk would have cried.

White Sox Devil Rays, 6/27/07 (W)
Question: has Buehrle's fastball been in the 84-85 mph range all night? That's something that has to be monitored, as it was almost a year ago where he just lost it last year.

Has no one made mention of a former Sox champion playing for Tampa tonight?

White Sox Devil Rays, 6/27/07 (W)
I've just about had enough of the Mackowiak Sox era, which has been a disappointment. We should be able to trade him for some low level prospect.

I like the swing by Fields, and great base running by Thome. BTW, my dream lineup next year has Thome batting 2nd, but I know that won't happen.

Very interesting article, especially with Ozzie saying something would have to happen this week and that Contreras would wave his NTC. Maybe I'm naive, but we'll know which direction Sox are going in tomorrow.

White Sox Devil Rays, 6/27/07 (W)
Gonzalez sees about 10 pitches, and Pods can't try to steal 2nd base. He's back to being a zero tool player.

White Sox Devil Rays, 6/27/07 (W)
Speaking of Richar, he's not playing tonight for Charlotte. Any possibility that Iguchi is going to be traded, and he's getting the call up?

White Sox Devil Rays, 6/27/07 (W)
This one game won't have an impact on Buehrle's value. However, all the rumors/speculations surrounding him over the last week is one of the reasons that KW's ignorant comments during the offseason about having everyone on the team test the market is so dumb. Good job Pods....you're such a smart baseball player.

I'm really struggling with why Cintron is still on this team.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 12:21 AM) Not a good night for the scouts to be watching Mark Could this season get more annoying? We finally heard "good" news today, and it ended up being bogus.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 11:44 PM) PR f***ing nightmare, and the Sox know it. Yep, you give him 5/70, and you worry about the rest of the team. It's times like this I'm pissed we extended Javy.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 08:45 PM) Then that begs the question, why wouldn't he sign the extension last summer before the ridiculous contracts were passed out? It certainly wasn't for much less than what the Score is reporting. Who knows what type of family stuff is going on, as well as maybe he's been told that the Cardinals don't have the resources to go after him?

Dodgers Interested in Dye?
Roland Hemond was scouting at the Dodgers/Dbacks game last night.
