QUOTE(TheDybber @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) Kalapse, I know what you are saying, but the stupidest thing he did was get caught. Sorry buddy, but I am guaranteeing you that a lot of your fav players have at one time or another juiced. That would make half of the league liars and cheaters, etc. I respect the man for coming back and taking the brunt of the fans anger. It's going to take a lot of strength (this time without the 'roids) to do that. I don't like what he did, I certainly don't condone it, but he did it, paid the price that was handed down and is being reinstated. If he gets caught again, ban him from baseball. EDIT: As for picking him up, no. But not because of him juicing, but because of the media circus surrounding him. I have no respect for him simply because he's comming back, that makes no sense. Sure a lot of baseball players juice most likely but there's no proof of it. Palmeiro juiced and got caught then the worst part of all lied about not taking them. f*** him. I gained a little respect for a ballplayer who has been caught juicing, his name is Jorge Piedra, he admitted that he took steroids and said he was looking for a competitive edge. AWESOMENESS an athlete who didn't lie to me, thank you Jorge.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) Well said. One of the most rational posts I've seen in a long time on here. Even a pessimistic person like myself agrees with this. You know, for a self-proclaimed pessimist you're not very pessimistic outside of game threads.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) And if he wins the world series...he's a lying prick that doesn't deserve the HOF, but would get my applause for helping the Sox cause I do think he makes them a better team. Plus as much as I hate the fact that he was juicing, I also must admit he's known as a very classy guy whose well liked in the clubhouse. I would never stoop so low as to pick up a known juicer just to make a push in the playoffs. I'd much rather go the rest of the season with Everett at DH than have a POS like Palmeiro in the lineup. I know that everyone seems to like him and he's always been a good guy but anyone who would s*** on the game and embarras his team, family and sport like he has is not welcome on any team I cheer for.

Sheffield's .304/23/86/927OPS would be so f***ing awesome in the middle of the Sox offense. Atlanta had no problem with Sheffield and his massive ego and I don't think it would be a team killer on the Sox. Of course he'd probably never come here but if he were willing, I'd take him in a second.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) RockRaines is making fun of Cub fans for making fun of White Sox fans. The White Sox have the best record in baseball, there's no need for this crap. He posted a something from another message board that he thought was funny, it had nothing to do with the White Sox. It had to do with the steriotype (and a true one) that Cubs fans are happy even when the Cubs suck just as long as they get to go to Wrigley and have a gay old time. I find absolutley nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't do it but I don't display my hatred for the Cubs as blatently as others.

Rafeal Palmeiro is a lying, cheating bastard there is absolutely no way in hell I ever want him anywhere near the White Sox. I hope he never plays in the big leagues again, baseball would be better off.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) Nah, I'll stick around. If people actually bothered to do a search on my posts, they would see that I've been pretty damn optimistic for most of this season. Until we hit a rough spot in the season. Then the optimism seemed to diminish.

QUOTE(sti3 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) STOP THE PRESS! We're slumping offensively? Looks like it's time to engage in a time-honored Pale Hose tradition and fire the hitting coach. Peopole have been calling for Greg Walker's head all year because he's appearently telling the players to hit for a low average and try to hit more homeruns.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) 11 of our last 15 games have been negative. There you go. How about, you only post if you have something bad to say about the team? That's a pretty true statement, maybe you like not be happy with the team. Ever since they started scuffling seems like you've been starting an aweful lot more topics and the great majority of them have been negative.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) 12.5 Shut up.
-
Wow, another negative thread from "Greg Hibbard", why am I not surprised? 11 of your last 15 topics have been negative. You'd think we were 13.5 Games back instead of 13.5 games up.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) You can think whatever you want, I don't give two s***s, no need to change the subject here. The fact is Cub fans are b****ing because they have a pathetic baseball team, and some of you guys are b****ing why? I have my assumptions but please make it clear for me so maybe I'll understand, after all i'm only 1/10th of a White Sox fan so I probably wouldn't know. Who's b****ing?

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) There is no way the Yankees will let Griffey pass by them and let him fall to us. If Griffey is placed on waivers, I gaurantee with 100% certainty that the New York Yankees will NOT claim in. They simply do not want to spend the money on a 36 year old CFer when they're planning on making a run at a CFer in the offseason + pitching and offer DLee $100M+ after the '06 season. If they picked up Griffey they won't be able to afford alll this. Most of their player's salaries are going way up over the next 3 years. The Yankees do not have unlimited money, otherwise Shawn Chacon would not be starting for them tonight.

Another Suspension from Steroids is coming
Kalapse replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in The Diamond Club
Some food for thought: Seattle has had two players suspended for steroids this season, the only major-league team to have more than one. Also… The Mariners also have the most minor-league players suspended this season for steroids with eight. -

Kalapse replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in The Diamond Club
Wow, just wow. -
-Jorge Piedra, who was caught using steroids earlier this year, speaking the truth unlike Mr. Raffy…. The guy may be a steroid user but that statement right there is going to garnish him a little more respect. I know I respect him more than Raffy and the others. Atleast this guy had the balls to come out and admit what he did.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) Ok, then I don't expect you to be responding to any of my wallpapers or sigs... I might, it doesn't mean you have to appreciate or take into account my comments.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) Meh. I don't like it. It is too dark and Hermy is too hard to make out. And I'm supposed to care about your opinion. :rolly

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) Forgot to add, I will be majoring in Media Relations/Journalism/Radio-Tv Announcing so you can all see my face on TV all the time! Aren't you all excited!?!?!?! WTF. You're 15 years old, supposidly a junior in high school and already know your college major? GMAFB, I'm 18 and just figured out what I was gonna major in 2 months ago and I'm way ahead of most people. I find it hard to believe first of all that you're going into your senior year as a 15 year old and secondly that you already have your college major figured out.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) Revsine is a Sox fan.... Garland, but no Buehrle? What are the chances that Revsine is writing that s*** anyway. I doubt he's comming up with the subject matter for segments.

I challenge anyone to give me one good reason why Bob Wickman should even be considered for AL Cy Young. Other than the fact that he has a couple more saves than Hermanson and Rivera.
