  1. QUOTE(GBlum## @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) And if we get shutdown... We'll be his first major league victory. Maybe I just don't like watching the Sox lose, no matter what the circumstances.
  2. QUOTE(GBlum## @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) Does anyone else hope we face him? Maybe with a 1 game lead in the division we would want to avoid him but with a sizeable lead I would love to face an arm like Felix. He could very well shut us down, we have enough problems with mediocre pitchers facing us for teh first time, imagine us going up against a guy like Hernandez with an arm like that. I'd much rather watch him pitch against the Tigers on Thursday.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) Can someone change my Status from "25 man roster" to "Pog mo thoin" Gotta love that Gaelic.
  4. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) yeah, yeah, yeah, I figured it out. Thx for the help. :finger You might wanna close the Size tag in your sig by adding [/size] to the end of the sentence or get rid of the if you've already completed it and the tag that I'm seeing is just extra.
  5. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) I'm expecting him to be totally average. Others seem a little over geeked about this guy. I say he hits 2 HRs in his first start.
  6. QUOTE(GBlum## @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) BLUM You've gone to far. :headshake
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) As if you haven't already Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
  8. Sele is washed up because he's old and bad. Stay far away from Aaron Sele. Adkins >>>>> Sele.
  9. I'm pimpin' the Geoff Blum sig, so he better kick ass for the Sox or I'm gonna look like a damn fool.
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) Though Mark Prior was the most touted pitcher since Gooden? Prior isn't nearly as touted as Hernandez.
  11. I heard he's going to pitch thursday but this could have been reported before the suspension. That would mean we'd miss him by 1 day and he'd face the Tigers in Detroit.
  12. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) Is Barry Bonds subject to testing this year? Yes, players on the DL are tested as well.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Think he got suspended for using Viagra? That is "performance enhancing". Am I right? 17th viagra joke.
  14. QUOTE(soxhawks @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:02 PM) but their careers have taken very similar paths Olivo Career Path: Oakland ----> Chicago ----> Seattle ----> San Diego Davis Career Path: San Diego ----> Seattle ----> Chicago just about backwards.
  15. QUOTE(VAfan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) K/BB ratios better than McCarthy's 6.77: Brad Radke 7.17; Carlos Silva 7.14 K/9 ratios better than McCarthy's 10.4. No one. Jake Peavy's 9.98 is tops. WHIPs ratios better than McCarthy's 1.07: Pedro Martinez .85, Roy Halladay .96, Clemens .96, Peavy 1.02, Carpenter 1.02. Tied Santana 1.07. Obviously you can't compare AAA to the major leagues. Nonetheless, for those guys who wanted to trade McCarthy for a bag of popcorn and said he had reached the zenith of his value, I'd say I'm glad KW didn't seem to agree. If you say at the end of your post that you "obviously can't compare AAA to the major leagues" then why did you? Comparing McCathy's K/BB, K/9 and his WHIP to the likes of Jake Peavy, Pedro Matinez, Roy Halladay and Johan Santana is just stupid. If you want to make a comparison compare his AAA numbers to other pitchers AAA numbers, don't go comparing minor league stats to the majors.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) Robbie Alomar jokes aren't really overused or anything Hell atleast we can't trade for Carl Everett this year because we already have him. :headshake
  17. QUOTE(joemg311 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Hmmm would anyone else rather have Sele in the pen instead of adkins for longer relief? No.
  18. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) We had home field in 2000 too. The only statistic we need to worry about is how many games back Oakland is of the WC. Because if they win it, it's game-over for us. The last 4 times the Athletics have made the playoffs ('00-'03) they have been knocked out in the first round in 5 games. And that's with players like Hudson, Mulder, Foulke, Koch, Tejada and Giambi.
  19. QUOTE(jamslam @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) How old is Baj? 27

Weird Pedro Astacio - Dominican Republic Akinori Otsuka - Japan Chan Ho Park - Korea Miguel Olivo - Dominican Republic Khalil Greene - Nome Damian Jackson - Black Dave Roberts - Black Eric Young - Black
