Good at bat for him though. -
You guys are having the draft on Easter??? How could you??? haha it doesn't bother me since I'm not in the league, but I'm sure some might not be able to do it.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2008 -> 04:29 PM) So, does this thread mean he's not a Muslim? I'd rather have him be Muslim than listen to that nonsense for the past 20 years. I hope he doesn't agree with his pastor and I believe him when he says he doesn't.

Jazz beat the Celtics. Watch them lose the next game at New Jersey.

Get well soon!

QUOTE(max power @ Mar 14, 2008 -> 12:31 AM) Even faster than juan uribe and his broom stick? well maybe not that fast, that swings so fast it's done before the ball even comes across the plate.

QUOTE(max power @ Mar 14, 2008 -> 12:08 AM) lol. Do you swing the same weight bat as he does? I have a faster bat speed than everyone in the league...........with my plastic bat.

Interesting idea. Maybe it's the spark this team needs.

If Tomo Ohka makes the team maybe he'll be. But right now I'd pick Linebrink.

Spring Break is next week for me. Hopefully I can lose a few pounds.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 10:49 PM) I'd tend to say it's Iowa vs. Missouri here. One thing I noticed here in Ames was people opened doors for other people. A lot. It was almost weird. I'm sure it depends where you're from in the state. I'm 30 minutes from Minnesota and 3 hours from Missouri so in my area it's Minnesota. At UNI it's hard to say, I know a lot of Minnesotans go here, as well as a few Wisconsinites.

I'll put my views into this. I believe it was Texsox that said the south does a very good job as adressing elders as Mr. and Mrs., hold doors open, push chairs in. Being from Iowa, I've always been told to do that, I guess I've thought that to be just as much Midwestern values as it is Southeran values. It's probably more courtesy values than anything else. I haven't thought that the North is superior to the South, I consider this country as a whole. If anything, Iowa has a rivaly with Minnesota, we like to make fun of each other. If I was a Civil War reenactor, I'd chose the North since I'm from the North. I don't have much experience going farther south than Missouri other than two times. The first time I was 15 and went to Arkansas, some locals wanted to play with us, but they're accents were so strange to me I couldn't help but laugh a little bit, but then I got over that quickly and we got along with the kids for the week. They were pretty fun to play with. The second time I had just graduated and my friends and I were going to New Orleans. We stopped in Mississippi and the people there were friendly. They'd come up and ask where we were from and stuff like that. I've always been more reserved and maybe northerners keep to themselves more than southerners, I'm not sure. But if someome comes up and talks to me, I'll talk to them and carry on a conversation. Anyways one question I wonder, maybe some of you history buffs and answer this but right after the Civil War ended, and into the 20th Century, the South were primarily Democrat and African-Americans were primarily Republican, at least in Iowa. Now it's the complete reversal. Anyone have a reason for that?

lol at Ozzie. I could hear him swearing in the background. -
I've never smoked pot before and probably never will because it's illegal. If it was legal I probably still wouldn't because I have no desire to smoke in general.

March 12th Spring Baseball Game Discussion

I think I've heard this Hawk story before where he made the error and the pitcher missed the team because of it. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 08:46 AM) If the Sox win 90 games, and Anderson still preforms like a egotistical amatuer, he still gets replaced in 2007. The Sox record has nothing to do with that. Kenny goes out and replaces parts that need fixing. Anderson couldn't handle CF like a major leaguer in 2006, so the Sox had to resort to Darin Erstad in 2007. The failure of Erstad on top of the failure of Anderson led to the Sox flushing their minor leagues for Quinten and Swisher. The one constant in that trend is that if Brian Anderson could have stepped to the plate, none of the next steps would have happened. That is the first domino in that line. I would call requiring the Sox to aquire all of those OFs screwing up the Sox. I would much rather have Anderson playing at his earlier potential, along with Chris Carter, Gio Gonzalez, Faustino De Los Santos, and Ryan Sweeney still in our system. It's slightly pathetic how many outfielders we've had started regularly since 2004, or could be starting this year. Ordonez, Lee, Borchard, Everett, Rowand, Podsednik, Dye, Anderson, Erstad, Owens, Sweeney, Swisher, Quinten. 13 outfielders in 4+ years, and I'm probably forgetting someone that had a significant amount of starts in the past 4 years. Besides having that many starting outfielders, this team has made some pretty dumb moves. Trading Jeremy Reed instead of Joe Borchard, even though Reed isn't doing much right how, he was still better than Borchard. Keeping Anderson and giving up Chris Young has also been a slap in the face.

The Jazz are also bipolar in terms of home and road. I have not been this pissed off watching the Jazz in a few years. Granted I get to see maybe 5 games tops not counting the playoffs, but they were pathetic tonight.

It was pretty crazy here today. Earlier this evening I was riding my bike around to campus just for the exercise since it was nice out. When I got to the south part of campus (the north part is where everything was going on) I saw a few people talking on cell phones, didn't think much of it, then right after that I saw a group of eight or so all talking on cell phones so I thought that was really strange. I look at my phone and noticed it was on silent, then I got the message about there possibly being a gunman on campus. So I turned around and went on my bike ride in another direction to go see what was going on at the towers, the place where the girl got that message. There were so many cop cars it was pretty crazy. Luckilly no one was hurt. I lived in the towers last year so needless to say it's so surprising something like that can happen, but yet at the same time it's not because it seems like threats and actually shootings, stabbings, bombs, whatever else, are happening more and more often.

I love the commentator talking. That curve is amazing.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 12:53 PM) Heh, IC is EASILY the most liberal city in the state. Not even close. No kidding. I makes Waterloo look like conservative farmers or something. I think Heads will agree with this, but a lot of students at Iowa, at least one's that I know, seem to have a lot of arrogance and think they're better than any other school in the state. They come off as being rude a lot and constantly make fun of Iowa State thinking they're rejects or whatever. I'm sure a lot of states have rivalries between the schools, but students at Iowa are a lot more disrespectful than students at ISU are. I don't know if this is true or not but my friend said there is not one registered Republican that teaches in Political Science or History. Seems interesting but maybe it's not a big deal. I don't care too much since I don't go there.
