  1. lost 2 pounds last week, not bad for eating restuarant food on Friday and Saturday.
  2. If someone doesn't end up doing one of the head to head leagues please let me know. I'm in all roto leagues right now which is ok, but I'd like to get into a head to head too if there needs to be a fill in.
  3. Dropped balls, errant throws, gotta love spring training.
  4. Spring is coming soon. The Sox are finally on tv.
  5. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 12:51 PM) Prediction of the day: Even after McCain gets 1191 delegates, Huckabee stays in the race. hey why not, he's been in it this long, might as well stay in, same with Ron Paul, haha.
  6. For the sake of the Chiefs I hope Jake Long is on the board, but it's becoming less and less likely.
  7. QUOTE(almagest @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 12:33 AM) Pretty sure the Sox would've considered it already as well. They know what Fields is capable of far better than we do. Very true. Although I'm somewhat surprised moving Fields to 2nd wasn't talked about more, which means to me Fields is set in stone at playing 3rd base whether it's in Chicago or Charlotte. You'd think he'd be athletic enough to play second considering he was the quarterback at Oklahoma State, but he might not fit the scheme, anyways maybe we shouldn't come after him though, he's a man but he's not 40.
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 11:18 PM) He can move back over to 3b and Ramirez can be the 2b. I'll back you up on this. His 3b skills aren't going to dissapear over the course of a season, especially if he gets a few games in at 3rd every now and then. Uribe played 2nd, 3rd, and SS in 2004, mostly playing at 2nd and now, 4 years later he's going back there. It's possible, but I'd say he'd have a better chance at going back to LF before playing 2nd.
  9. QUOTE(toasty @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 07:42 PM) meh. trade tome konerko to DH, put crede @ 1b fields @ 3rd If that were to happen I'd rather have Fields DH, Konerko at 1B and Crede at 3B.
  10. I'd rather have Crede play than Fields but if the Sox can get a good player or two then I'd say it's ok to trade Crede. If they don't have a deal that'll help the Sox in the future or now, then there's no reason to trade him. Chances are we wouldn't even be having this conversation if Crede didn't get injured or if Fields didn't hit 25 homers last year in roughly 100 games. Obviously it happened so the debate is warrented, but I feel more comfortable with Crede in the lineup still.
  11. I say trade him if possible. I'd rather have Owens as a 4th outfielder mainly because he has a lot more speed than Anderson does.
  12. Fielder unhappy with his contract. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...sp&c_id=mlb I really want to like this guy, probably because I liked his father Cecil. But after I watched that show E:60 on ESPN and the way he refuses to talk to his dad, he makes me sick.

    Tattoos

I won't get any. Not my thing.
  14. I came into today weighing 200 even. That would mean I've lost 2 pounds in the last week, however I ate a lot of pizza today so I'm guessing I'll be a bit higher tomorrow.

    Leap Day

Happy leap day to everyone. Don't go making it a bad leap day because you'll have to wait another 4 years for the next one. This is my first leap day at soxtalk and I've been here for almost 4 years. It's probably a first for a lot of people here.
  16. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 10:22 AM) except when I wrote it in the thread title, but no worries well when someone dies usually there are followers with the RIP and no one had followed yet, that's what i was getting at.

    Films Thread

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 12:24 PM) Breakfast Club on TV Land. They dub over the curse words and the word Shorts. When Judd Nelson tells the Principal to "Eat My Shorts." They dub it so he says, "Eat my Socks." Yeah that was terrible. But honestly, the was the first time I watched the whole movie straight through.
  18. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) Who in the hell is Tom Kelly? That is the million dollar question today.
  19. This thread keeps coming out of the ashes.
  20. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 01:03 AM) Joe Flacco was recently compared to Andrew Walter and John Navarre. Bears fans still want him in the 2nd? Flacco was a stud against UNI in the playoffs, but that's Div 1-AA. Jevon Kearse was released today.
  21. Good to finally have him in camp, but I still think the starting job is going to Uribe.
  22. Well on behalf of soxtalk I will say Rest In Peace because no one else has.
