  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 10:53 AM) Just because no one else has said it: TCU and Boise are really good. I agree
  2. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 06:11 PM) Same goes for the Jazz. Just have this guy stay until the baseball season starts. Haha not sure if you're a Bulls fan but if you are, for your sake hopefully it doesn't continue on with Boozer, Korver, and Brewer who were all on the Jazz last year.
  3. I just love it when my brother's friend comes over. The guy is a total jinx. The Chiefs were crusing nicely up 10-0 in the red zone. He comes over and two plays later they have their first red zone turnover in almost 10 years. Now the Raiders are up 14-13. I counted the times he was over when I was home and the White Sox were playing. The Sox finished with something like a 6-19 or a 6-20 mark in the games he was there for. Honestly the guy is a jinx. It happened last year with some Utah Jazz games, my favorite basketball team. The guy just needs to LEAVE!
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Has icing the kicker ever worked? It worked last week in the Kansas City game against Buffalo.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 05:55 PM) Careers in the NFL are shorter than most pro sports including superstars. Look at how many top RB's sustain production over more than 5 years. I was just looking at the fantasy drafts a few years back when Larry Johnson was one of the top guys, now he can barely make a roster. Its amazing. Definitely a good example. The Chiefs had a great offensive line with Willie Roaf, Will Shields, Casey Weigmann, Brian Waters, and John Tait. Priest Holmes and Derrick Blaylock feasted off that offensive line as well. Once Roaf and Shields retired, and Tait signing with the Bears, Larry Johnson started to slow down. Not saying the offensive line was the only reason, or even the biggest reason, but it did contribute to his lack of stats. But man was LJ awesome to watch for a few years.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 31, 2010 -> 01:52 AM) I can say with 100 percent confidence that Michigan with Lloyd Carr and Ryan Mallett would be a national title contender this year. Defensively they would be better and offensively they would match up better in conference. I miss Lloyd Carr so much. And Ryan Mallett too.
  7. Yikes....Chiefs barely beat the Bills before overtime expires. I know the Bills have been playing well the last couple of weeks, but still. A win is a win.
  8. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 07:23 AM) Again, this is mirroring my situation to a 'T' hahaha. Honestly, it's up to you. I don't initiate contact anymore but I haven't been an ass when she has. She was watching a movie that I had once told her about being one of my favorites so she felt a need to tell me that, along with saying she missed me. It's been 4 or 5 times over a few months now. It's probably not going to cease completely, especially if you humor her when she contacts you. Keep in mind her age. But, don't allow yourself to become the guy she keeps hanging around either "just in case" as a backup. If anything though, this has taught me to pretty much never even begin talking to a girl if she still maintains communication with an ex. Too many times it's all ended the same way. There's no way I'm going to be mean to her. She's a nice girl and she means well. I just want her to make a decision about talking to me or not. If she doesn't want to talk because her boyfriend says so (which is a stupid idea anyway) then don't talk to me. I do want to talk to her and keep something of a friendship going, but I also need to move and and I am moving on, but it doesn't help when she randomly texts me about things that remind her of me. Because then I want to randomly text her about stuff, but I'm going to hold back. But yeah, I definitely won't allow myself to be that backup guy like you're saying. Haha I'm glad someone else has just about the exact same problem as I have.
  9. I don't know, I just remember people complaining a lot about Mackowiak playing instead of Anderson. Even though Anderson was having a terrible year as well.
  10. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) 2008 was Swisher. Uribe was never the number one whipping boy. But outside of 2004 he probably was always in the top 5 easily, maybe even the top 3. His four years from 2005-2008 gave him the longevity of a premiere whipping boy on this site. I remember when I first came on here Jose Valentin was a whipping boy in 2004.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 10:00 PM) Uribe was the site's main whipping boy for all of 2007 and 2008 and while I didn't come here much in 2006, he probably drove people crazy then too. I think only Kotsay has been b****ed about more. Mackowiak was a huge whipping boy in 2006. Everyone seemed to want Anderson to play and would get really angry if he wasn't in center field.
  12. This girl I've talked about the last couple of weeks ended contact with me like I said she was going to do. She did it because her boyfriend didn't want her talking to me anymore. Dumb reason but whatever. Anyway she texted me today saying a guy she sits next to in class is left handed and she thought of me since I'm left handed. I didn't want to respond back but after a while decided to respond with a "that's cool". She sent me other texts and I was just responding with yeah's, ok's, not much's, just single phrases and stuff. Finally she said she had to leave and talk to you later. This really bugged me because she told me she was done talking to me and I'm in the process of getting her out of my life and she texts me. I'm going to tell her if there is a next time she texts me that she can't have it both ways where she says she doesn't want anything to do with me, then texts me randomly. Haha I just had to vent.
  13. Nets in the winners column. Started off 0-18 last year. 1-0 is a better start.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) You say that as though he had nothing to do with them coming to his team hot South Beach party. Obviously he did, and who wouldn't want those to on their team? No one should blame him for that.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 10:44 AM) I don't get the Wade hate personally. He re-signed with the team that drafted him. There shouldn't be on the court, but he gets clumped into the guilt by association deal I guess. He's playing with James and Bosh who jumped onto his team. Just the way it is. I used to go for the Heat because I liked him, but I'm not going to go for them anymore.
  16. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 25, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) I know he's entitled to it, but I couldn't accept it from the Giants if I was him. Maybe accept it and then put it up for auction with the money going to charity. I'd still take it if I were him. He spent 3.5 seasons there and was a contributer to their team. Is it right? Maybe not, but if they're going to give it to him, might as well take it.
  17. Bengie Molina is getting a ring no matter what. Life's got to be good for him.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 24, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) Auburn will lose at some point, so I wouldn't worry about that. And you're never going to win the Boise argument around here. For as much as people make some of us out to be mid major homers, there's a bunch of people around here that will never, ever give Boise any credit just because they're Boise. That's why I wish there was a playoff so badly. So we can really see how good Boise State is. I believe in them and am on their bandwagon. But I'm almost positive they won't get in the championship game.
  19. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Oct 22, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) I wonder if Crede will ever make it back to the big leagues again... I wonder if Dye will ever make it back to the big leagues again.
  20. Raptors and Grizzlies maybe? Oddly enough they both came in together.
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 12:32 AM) Let me say this as delicately as possible, 24 and 18 or so doesn't go well together. Yes, it is legal, but if you are expecting anything worthwhile out of it, you should pass. Most likely you will have zero things in common with each other. Yeah we don't have a lot in common, but she does like the White Sox so that was a plus, haha. I knew what I was getting into and I've gotten what I deserved in essence. What sucks is that it feels like I'm a complete loser if I can't get a girl who just turned 19 to like me. Even though I know I have no control of who she likes. Like I said earlier, I've learned a great lesson. So I can move on and remember this and hopefully turn it into a positive as far as a learning experience.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 09:01 AM) Wow. I pretty much could have written that almost word for word (like literally, even the white sox part). So I know exactly what you're going through. Sucks. Just add a couple years to both of our ages and drop the coached her in softball part haha. I don't get why it's so hard for girls to get over guys who cheat on them repeatedly and what not. They must feel they can fix them. Slight difference is that I'm avoiding contact with her. Which of course becomes difficult when you get random text messages saying they were thinking about you or miss you. Ugh. edit: by the way, aren't you the other Chiefs fan on this board too? Haha yeah I'm the other Chiefs fan. That's ironic. Finally I think this girl and I are done talking. Which is probably a good thing. She's been wanting to stop talking and on Saturday our convo didn't end well. But she showed her true immaturity when I was trying to have a good convo because I like to try to end things on a good note, but not this time. It's looking like her friend likes me but I'm done with teenagers for good hopefully. Although her friend loves the Chiefs, so that's something we have in common. Her friend is a red head and I've never been into them but she is really cool and pretty cute, but once again I don't feel like getting into that young drama.
