  1. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 01:34 PM) Bobby Jenks FTW Mark Buerhle
  2. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 11:29 AM) I always liked Willie Harris. Couldn't understand why we didn't keep him with the Sox. I think Maggs would have signed here, but we didn't want to give him the kind of money Detroit was willing to give because of the knee injury and the fear of spending too much in payroll. Pods helped us win the World Series and I am not sure Lee could have brought the spark that Pods did, however, Carlos Lee is one real good player. Thome for Rowand and Gio brought us a real good player and great guy, but if we could get Rowand back I'd love it. We got that World Series andf the other didn't, but those players we lost are all top notch. When you struggle like we are this year it just makes you wonder what if. We didnt keep Willie Harris, because he was bad. He was so bad, we signed a Japanese 2nd baseman, that they reviewed only tape on instead of making him the 2nd baseman. The only thing that Pods did in 05, was help keep the offense's head above water when Dye and Konerko decided to take a nap for the first two months. Congrats for that, and the walkoff. He sucks/is injured all the time now, and needs to go. Rowand sucked, everyone magically forgets when he hit .245, and 235 for the last two months of the season, and didnt hit at all in the playoffs. But because he dove and caught a few balls in Yankee Stadium, he will be forever enshrined in the whitesox HOF. They must of missed the number of times in September, when he broke the wrong way and almost blew a bunch of games when he would make mental errors in the field and miss catchable balls. Marte for those thinking that. Here is a guy who quit on his team in the middle of a playoff run, didnt disclose injury, and basically couldnt throw to lefties since he broke Chavez's hand. He pitches great when the heat isnt up, which is why he is so good for the pirates. Put that tin can on a contending team, and he will unravel again.
  3. So when is the best hitting coach in the world going to get ahold of Fields and turn him into the gap hitter he supposedly preaches. Or will he just flip his minor league card and say, this is the swing that got him here, so we cant fix it. Or maybe we can see a quote similiar to Anderson last year, of I saw mechanical issues with this swing, but wanted to wait to fix them. But thank god he fixed Uribe, Project URIBE YEAH.
  4. It was a joke last year when Gabbard destroyed us. And now we face him a year later, and the pull patrol doesnt realize how to attack a soft tossing lefty who spots away. No adjustments.
  5. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 04:32 PM) Can anyone tell me Hall's CERA? His calls have been suspect at best. He calls a lot of 0-2 fastballs.
  6. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 04:12 PM) Anderson got shredded for other reasons. Well we have one guy who tells the radio crew every day, I am going to hit a home run. We have his coach saying, if only Juan wouldnt worry about RBIs and home runs he would be a better hitter. Our hitting coach worked with him on Project Uribe this spring to make sure he would be a better hitter. He makes over 4 million dollars a year, plays lazy defense. The other guy, was a young guy, who was cocky. He made the league minimum and played good defense. He couldnt hit the outside pitch, and had a typical Whitesox minor league bat. Our hitting coach, didnt start to work with him until June. So do you really think if Anderson was cocky and hit 280 that Ozzie would of cared.
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 04:05 PM) I despise Uribe. Yeah hopefully uribe wont be back next year. Anderson got shredded for a better approach to the plate than Mr. I admit I swing for the fences on every AB.
  8. It would be nice to see some of our hitters, specially and especially our younger hitters think right field 1st. Thats what makes young hitters like Theriot, any minny young hitter, and Garko effective when they come up.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 03:55 PM) Then see SI71 for a more "appropriate" response.... I see the talent in the pitcher, and understand the maturation process. Its one thing if you see a Felix Diaz who throws a 87 mph straight ball, and his butt puckers up the minute a guy gets on base. Its a different thing, when you have a guy who attacks hitters, and learns and seems to get different pieces better. You can see at some point one he gets his command, the stuff is plus. But then again, I like Massett as a starter, Floyd if he can get his noggin on and attack the zone. And Gio when he gets here. Our future pitching looks good, probably another reason I think we should sell either Garland or Vazquez and see if we can get a new SS, like Hu or Escobar plus other pieces. We need to recharge this thing.
  10. Jermaine Dye trying to pull the outside pitch, tops it and grounds out to the pitcher. Sad.
  11. Its sad watching the Walkerball offense attack a soft tossing lefty. A lefty, who has a curve and a change who spots low and away. Its like facing Johan for our team.
  12. Hall just realized that John Danks has a good curveball, and started to call for curves. Danks has a decent fastball, but if Hall thinks that Danks is going to live and breathe on the fastball he is mistaken. Danks needs to get that cutter in, and start to bully righties like Buerhle does. If he starts to do that, with his velocity, and secondary pitches. He will be pretty damn good.
  13. QUOTE(joesaiditstrue @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) danks is getting worse like every outing, it's becoming hard to watch him pitch anymore, whereas earlier in the season it was like the only bright point if i have to watch iguchi or dye groundout on a belt-high 87mph fastball, i'm gonna throw up He is 22, he will take his lumps. I could care less what his ERA, or results are this year. As long as he is prepared more, and learns how to get better control by ST of next year. Relax, he is a f***ing rookie.
  14. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) I wonder why he never threw a curve to Coco. Wily Mo Pena is so awesome. We should totally trade Mark Buehrle for him Ask the catcher calling the game.
  15. No split screen even on the Roiders ABs. Great more Bush versus Roid.
  16. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 01:09 AM) It really sucks to have the roles reversed this summer. The Cubs are the old White Sox. They are in contention and winning every day. We are not and losing most days. This truly sucks. The cubs are not the old whitesox. They have no pitching outside of one pitcher. Think more of the 2004 whitesox. They wont advance too far in the playoffs. So dont get them in a bunch over this.
  17. Considering that we are trying to trade Contreras, what was the f***ing reason we let him go out in the 8th to get roasted for 5 more runs. You dont allow a trading chip, to get bent over and taken for 10 large because you want to save your bullpen. The season is over. I dont care what Paul Konerko says, or Ozzie or whatever. This team is not playing 750 ball for the rest of the season to win the division or wild card. You can say what you want and show the poker face. But you dont let your trading chips s*** themselves. If we dont trade him by the trading deadline, then DL his ass and get a MRI. Because the sidearm thing, and the loss of velocity thing is too telling. 7 innings, and 5 runs looks better than 7 1/3 and 10 large.
  18. Secret Squirrel is spying on Iran
  19. More the Poker face, we think we can contend this year montra. I am hoping that this is just poker face mentality by Ozzie and Kenny. Because if they actually think we can contend, they need some drugs. We need to focus this year, on trading some older players, and evaluating newer players and younger players. Not to run the Prancer and Grinderstad DL show.
  20. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 19, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) I forget how obnoxious Boston fans are. Particularly when it comes to balls and strikes. That and they talk like they have marbles in their mouth.
  21. QUOTE(juddling @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 12:39 PM) This is a hot story. Reports say that there is a long standing animosity between former SNL cast member Jon Lovitz and performance artist/attention whore drug addict Andy Dick. Lovitz allegedly blames Andy Dick for the death of his SNL castmate, comedian Phil Hartman. The story goes that at a party five months prior to his wife shooting him, Andy offered the then sober Mrs. Hartman some coke. She accepted, and five months later it was bloody and all over CNN. Lovitz took over for Hartman on "Newsradio" after his death, and seems to have had several run-ins with Andy concerning Phil Hartman since then. He claims that Andy once told him that 'I put the "Phil Hartman hex" on you - you're the next one to die.' That's charming. Andy Dick's a mess, and seems to annoy a lot of people. Which is probably why nebbishy Jon Lovitz finally pummeled him last week. Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada, who witnessed the assault, said, "Jon picked Andy up by the head and smashed him into the bar four or five times, and blood started pouring out of his nose." Lovitz told Page Six, "All the comedians are glad I did it because this guy is a [bleep]hole." At my bachelor party a while coming up on 5 years ago, the final destination was the industrial strip in Indiana. Ron Jeremy was doing his strip club stand up routine. Along for the ride, was Andy Dick. Ron Jeremy was a pretty funny and a nice guy. His friend on the other hand, kept running to the bathroom. My brother ran into him in there, and asked him "WTF are you doing here, aren't you gay."
  22. Number one target of any trade should be a replacement for Uribe.
  23. The site looks great. Great job guys. It's hard living without this site, but worth it in the long run for the upgrades and new features. Thanks for all the hard work, and for stamina to stay through a long upgrade.
