QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) I don't know, I'm checking it out on Amazon right now, and they sound EXACTLY the same. Music is the same, voice is the same. I'm waiting though, maybe a song will wander along that doesn't sound like them, and maybe that is what you heard, but so far, nah, it's the same ol' crap. The music is the same, the vocals sounded diff to me. By the way, someone told me that dude had totally lost his voice. Talk about sick luck. That'd be like a photgrapher waking up blind or a ballplayer losing his legs. He musta freaked out. They still suck.... by the way.

I went out for dinner and more drinks after the game, got home just in time for the 10 pm news, so I could watch the highlights, but I was bombed and I knocked out and never saw them. Woke up at 3:30 am, half drunk, half hungover, voice was shot and I thought the whole thing was a dream. Jumped on line to check the score, got excited again and could not fall back asleep. Actually got to work a half hour earlier today.

Loud crowd, my voice is shot and my palms are still red from all the 'high fives'. Makes me wonder who is in those seats the rest of the season when the place is a morgue.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) Everyone is pointing out Buehrle's record and ERA against Boston exactly the same as they were pointing out Contreras' record and ERA yesterday. Its the playoffs, everyone starts fresh. I think Buehrle is really going to get up for this one tonite. Hopefully. I think Mark's fast pace on the hill should help keep them off balance and uncomfortable and maybe fight off some the steam they'll come into tonight's game with.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) Ok who started the rain dance? I'm trying to do as much of what I did yesterday, hoping that we get the same game result.
-
Even better news for today, rain from 5 to midnight.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) You people who are so cocky will be best served by not commenting. I don't CARE that Boston doesn't have the pitching. IMO, yesterday's game makes them even MORE dangerous. This is kind of like wounding the tiger. The tiger comes back at you even more pissed off. David Wells is a fatass, but he's a very smart fat ass. Don't count these guys out yet. You NEVER underestimate your opponent in the playoffs until the series is over. THEN you underestimate them while you're celebrating. PERIOD. Any other mindset, write down some tee times for next week. I agree, today could very easily be the complete opposite of yesterday, if not worse. I don't see us putting up more than 4 runs today, so once again our pitching will have to get it done. If it's low scoring after 4, I really like our chances.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 08:32 AM) Which we can also use to there advantage. They are a smart baseball team, and have OBVIOUSLY been in the postion before, however, with the beating they took last night, they could be pressing a little more. Mark needs to take advantage of that. That's one way to look at it. Didn't the Yankees beat them like 19-0 in one of the 3 playoff losses last year? This is far from over, the Red Sox will probably come back.
-
The key for today will be: MATCH THEIR INTENSITY. Boston was not just beaten, but humiliated yesterday. Look for them to come at us like a bull with a rocket up it's ass. We have to match that intensity and hold our groung, especially in the 1st and 2nd innings. Another possible factor is rain delays. They must stay UP for the game even if there are delays. It's all mental from here on out boys, it's all mental.

QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) The sun is shining right now. How's that? I know, it says showers will be moving in at...drumroll please......3 PM!!! Woo Hooo
-
Anyone have anything more specific than chance of showers? Weather.com is vague.

Another option might be the IIT lots near the green line which is like 4 blocks east of the park. I've heard people park there for free sometimes. Today might be a different animal though. There's always dowtown lots. Just stay in the south loop and then ride 10 minutes to the park.
-
You are gonna be pushing it arriving that late. I'd drive to Chinatown near 22nd street, park on the street or in one of the lots. Jump on the red line, go south, 1 stop to 35th street.

Statistically how to beat Manny and Ortiz
LosMediasBlancas replied to joeynach's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Useful scouting reports on Papi and Manny, but remember that you're talking about "Ozzie I-got-3-balls Montana" here. He'll manage us right into the eye of the hurricane. -
Guess who's throwing out the first pitch?
LosMediasBlancas replied to fathom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Great idea, but I don't want to see Frank go into a full wind up and put all his weight on his ankle. -
we're f***ed.

QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) Just thought I would add to this... My flight home from Cleveland was delayed last night. Mariotti was on my flight. He came and sat down with me at the airport bar near our gate. Just like everyone else... I am not a fan, but he was a pretty good guy. We sat and talked for a good 2 hours. Remember, His job is to sell papers. I'm sure. The guy is a shock sports journalism whore.

if my math is correct (and usually it's not) we went: 12-16 in Aug. 17-12 in Sept. 3-0 in Oct. 32-28 in the last 3 months of the season. Oh yeah, we choked.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) That f***in' sucks. Gammons is always wrong. That's exactly what he's doing! He's hoping to fire up the Bo-Sox.
-
Somewhere in the bleachers, I think.
-
This is partly why I vowed not to give JR any money unless we made the playoffs this year. Now I have plenty of loot to throw around for post season tix....... and I don't feel like a sucker about it. So, let see here, 1 extra game than the Div series, they should be gone in about 15 mins.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 06:16 PM) I hope we dont get Ozzie Montona in the playoffs. The Sox have to be smart with these two guys. Ozzie better not come out saying "Were not afraid of anyone, we going to go right after them..... While it sounds like the right attitude, those guys are that team. Take the bats out of there hands. You've hit the nail on the head for the entire post season Tony. We cannot let the Papi's, Vlads or A Rods beat us. The bad news is, when have you ever seen Ozzie change his methods?

It's supposed to be 80 degrees and partly sunny on Tuesday. That's a LOT warmer than any playoff game I remember.
