QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:27 PM) Because I have never heard of anyone saying "I can't wait for the ____ concert" when referring to the other bands that day. The closest is Tool, and that is a completely different demographic. I thought I was being conservative with that estimate. oh, ok.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:19 PM) I bought three tickets for Lollapalooza on August 8. The sole reason my friends and I wanted to go was to see the Beastie Boys. Now, I'm clearly not mad at the band, but I am pissed. I called to ask about a refund, knowing full well what their response would be, and it's exactly what I got. There are no refunds because festival lineups are subject to change. I read that the guy who runs the agency that runs Lollapalooza said something along the lines of "we haven't received any requests for refunds because people go to this event for the overall event." That is bulls*** and anyone would be stupid to believe that to be the case. I would estimate that at least 50% of the people who purchased tickets for that day did so in order to see the Beastie Boys. They are now searching for a band that could be a suitable replacement. I'm going to end up stuck with tickets to a s***ty lineup headlined by some s*** like DMB. How do you come up with that 50% estimate??

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) Went to pitchfork yesterday. I'm really tired though. Quit whinning and tell me about The Jesus Lizard.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) I suppose every golf course should be the same as well? Pit bulls suck. They are hideous looking dogs I'd like to see suspensions of licenses for drivers under 21 that have accidents due to playing around on phones or Ipods. I don't think saving them for SEVERE accidents because they'll just get toss aside in a plea bargain. Imagine if that asshole that killed Nick Adenhart was playing on a phone (while being drunk.) Would a law banning phone use in a car really punish the criminal any further? Golf is not a sport, see above unpopular opinion.

Has anyone tried any of the N-O products?? I tried it for a bout two months and I just found it be very speed like. I got a horrible headache and a huge crash after my workouts. I'd have to nap for two hours right after each work out. I did get some really good pumps during my workout, but I saw no permanent size or strength gains.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) Boooooooo. I'll pass on the McBallparks, thanks. I like that each stadium has its nuances. yeah, but stats can get influenced by those nuances too. That's a major booooo. NBA rims are all 10 feet off the floor, imagine if they weren't.

Freddy Garcia still trying to come back

Sounds like 'Sweaty Freddie' might be in debt. -
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) What? She might start looking good to you? Not a chance. Unrelated: What exactly makes a guy a douchebag instead of, say a moron?

Are those Progressive.com commercials on every ten seconds or what? If I see that 'power to the people' chick one more time......

The playing area on all MLB parks should be the same dimensions. Same distance from home plate to the walls, same amount of foul territory, same height of the outfield walls.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 11:24 AM) Steering a race car isn't like steering a Crown Vic, though. The forces coming back through the steering wheel are much, much higher. The inside of a NASCAR car is usually well over 100* and you need to be in good shape not to black out from the g-forces in F1 cars. Rally racers also need to be in good shape for the absolute beating they take. Try karting some time and you'll know how much is can wear on your arms and shoulders. You obviously don't have to be conditioned like an Olympic sprinter, but to be a good driver you have to be in good shape or you'll be completely worn out by the end of the race and very prone to making mental mistakes. Think of how many overweight NASCAR or F1 drivers there are. You've never driven my old Crown Vic, now THAT was a sport.

Manny Pacqiao would have lost to many great fighters from boxing's glory days.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 10:13 AM) And the more you weight, the more power the car needs to accelerate. Of course. The question really is does a guy who is lean and in top physical condition have an advantage over a fat slob when it comes to steering and hitting the gas?
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 10:05 AM) You need to be in pretty good shape to drive a race car (competitively). Well sure, you have to fit into the seat.

If you don't need to physically condition in order to perform, then it's not a sport.

GNC makes this stuff called 'Creatine Plus'. It's basically creatine plus aminos. People will tell you that creatine is an outdated myth, but that stuff has always worked real well for me and it's dirt cheap. Take a lot for your loading phase and then maintain. I do two months on, one month off. By the way, I've tried more 'advanced' types of creatine and none of it has worked nearly as well. Of course protein is a must.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 11:58 AM) I already sent it back to Netflix. And even if I owned it, I probably wouldn't watch it again for at least a year. That's not a knock against the movie. I just don't watch movies numerous times unless I think it's one of the greatest movies ever or a really good comedy. Oh well. I would have been interested to hear your review after a second viewing.

A true bad ass warrior. Would have had a better career if he'd developed some defense earlier in his career. The trilogy against Mickey Ward is epic. RIP.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:07 AM) Oh yes, it was definitely out there. I think it was meant that way to kind of show how the events unfolded in the eyes of the child (and the stories he was told by his mother and father). Do you think you'd watch it a second time? Give it a shot, tell me what you think.

Never. I also pick out all the other coins and leave the pennies in the change dispenser at the grocery store.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 09:28 PM) Life Is Beautiful was very good, but extremely depressing. I really enjoyed it the first time I saw it. For some reason, it came accross as far fetched and really, really silly the second time. I've never done a 180 on a film like that.

You know Hawk has wanted to say that for a long time. When you think about broadcasting over the radio and on TV over so many years covering so many sporting events, it's amazing no one has cussed on the air....or have they?
