  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) Can't find it...it was with all the people who would gather outside the courthouse during his trial dressed like him, etc. I remember seeing it, but the numbers were nowhere close and celebs were nowhere to be found. It's as if people can't even have feelings of their own any more and will bandwagon even around grief. Weird and sad.
  2. The Sox won the WS 4 years ago. Gimme the 100K and the 5 bucks over WNBA title.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) Time for someone to find the Triumph clip with all the Jackson fans outside the courthouse during his trial. Including all the celebs from today?? Show it to me.
  4. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 07:25 AM) Me three. There is truth in what Donne wrote about "each man's death diminishes me," but I don't understand how people can get worked up to the point of tears over total strangers they know only through TV. Sad for their families? Sure. Disappointed at being deprived of their future artitistic contributions? OK. Upset over the injustice of the "good" dying young? I can see that. But these people being shown in hysterics over the "King of Pop" need to either get a life or find a more constructive way to earn their 15 minutes of televised fame. This is not an assassinated President, and all that that symbolically represents. This is a pop singer whose unorthodox lifestyle undoubtedly contributed to his own demise. I know I shouldn't judge, but I just don't get it. Amen.... and where were all these mutha phuckers when Jackson was on trial for freakin' on boys? He dies and suddenly the records start selling again and people are talking about how he changed the world. GMAFB.
  5. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:01 AM) Any love for Wilco (the Band), (the Album) or (the Song) here? Ever since I heard their music described as "dad rock," I've been hesitant to confess my complete adoration. I think the new album is solid, in that it rocks out more than Sky Blue Sky. Favorite tracks after a couple spins: Wilco (the Song), Bull Black Nova, You Never Know, I'll Fight. Also just picked up their new concert DVD, "Ashes of American Flags." Looking forward to watching it this weekend. 'Dad Rock" that's pretty funny. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is solid.
  6. QUOTE (BobDylan @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 03:06 PM) Alright, alright.... I have to ask... Do you understand that The Reader is not about the Holocaust, but instead about that boy/man? The Holocaust is a prop to the plot and that guy's emotions. Very little more. Nope, it's about boobs, feet and hair.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2009 -> 10:02 PM) I know, I know. But Suzanne Somers looks pretty damn good at her super advanced age. I'm sorry. That pic just scared me when I came across it. You're comparing SS with make up and airbrushing to a JD mug shot.
  8. All these memorials and tributes to MJ got me wondering if there is a celebrity whose death I would grieve over. As a kid, I was stunned when Thurmon Munson died and later in life I was stunned and pissed when Stevie Ray Vaughn died. I love baseball and music, but I didn't cry, send flowers or want to view the bodies. How about you? Who has it been, or who would it be?
  9. Not only do I not watch women's sports, I don't watch college sports either. If you're gonna watch sports, watch them at the best level. A friend of mine and I always get into this discussion.
  10. Gun used in crime was purchased by the chick a few days earlier. Sounds like she filled him, then put one in her own dome.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) Sounds like either his wife shot him and then killed herself, or maybe both were murdered and a suspect is at large. Either way, what a strange and sad story. RIP. That was not his wife, must've been his GF. Sooooo, either she killed him and then herself, ooooor her BF, drug dealer, or someone she owed money to shot them both. Maybe it's all the same guy.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 12:09 AM) It may not be an entirely stupid question, but since I'm 6'6, I ALWAYS get the "Do you play basketball?" question. Man that aggravates me. I've always been very lean and was flat out skinny when I was younger. People would always say: 'Wow, you're skinny. Do you eat"? No, I never even thought of that. I think I'll try this eating thing. Thanks.
  13. Believe it or not, 'Pehlam 123' is a good movie.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 05:22 PM) I've seen the studies he mentioned. They are statistically better drivers. I'm not disputing that, nor am I saying it's not an insensitive thing to say.
  15. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) I have a hearing impairement and I use a hearing aid in order to hear, anyway... I've had people ask me how it's possible I can legally drive if I have a hearing loss. Apparently they think that just because I have a hearing loss that I shouldn't drive because I "can't hear things on the road". Seriously, I hate ignorant people like that. If they followed that belief, then people who wear eyeglasses probably shouldn't be able to drive as well. I can't find a source, but I've been told by some people that deaf people and people with a hearing loss are usually statistically better drivers than people with normal hearing. I'm sure that with the hearing aid, you can hear just as well as most people, I get your point, but hearing IS a huge part of driving. I have a bad habit of driving with the music on full blast and have almost been nailed by cops, ambulances or fire trucks numerous times cuz I didn't see or hear them coming. Bikers keep their bikes loud because drivers don't always see them in their blind spots, this way, they at least hear the rumble and look around.
  16. I have two. Does this sound familiar when asking for directions? "Can you tell me how to get to US Cellular Field...?" "From here"?? No, from your Mom's house. Of course from here! The second one is simply the word 'really'? My former boss got my to realize how often that's used and how stupid it really is. Any time I asked "really?", he'd reply, "nope, I'm lying to you". "Man, I have a pounding headache" 'Really"? "I'm so far behind in my work"? "Really"?
  17. Cali is going through a tough time right now, probably tougher than most of the country. Housing is down, the tax man bends you over and the state is almost broke. On the positive: The weather, I didn't realize how bad the weather in Chi is until I moved away. It's not just the winter, but it rains for a big chunk of the fall and spring and the summers are humid as hell...and rainy. How much there is to do, in SoCal you're literally two hours from almost anything you could ever desire to do, LA, SD, the ocean, mountains, the desert, Vegas, Mexico. The friendliness of the women. Women here are very easy to talk to, very outgoing, always smiling and less attitude. Most of the time, they will approach you. I say do it, you can always move back, Chicago ain't going anywhere.

    P90X

Creatine is the only supplement that has ever given me any real results.... even more than protein.
  19. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 12:22 AM) "The Usual" happened once, 2005. Each team taking 2 on the road with the season series at 3-3. I've been away too long. I could have sworn there have been more 3-3 season series results the past few years.
  20. The usual, each team takes 2 on the road, season series ends 3-3.

Can anyone recommend an effective, reasonably priced, creatine in pill form?
  22. The Hangover was dissapointing. There are some funny moments, but the idea had so much more potential. Anyone?
