  1. 4 hits for Sox thru 3 innings. Hit into 2 DP's.
  2. Albers is the Twins version of Axlerod only LH. 27 years old , pitched in independent league and not great stuff. However he has pitched very well in his 2 previous starts. Has ERA of 0.00 coming in with a complete game. Sox run was 1st earned up he's given up.
  3. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 16, 2013 -> 06:40 PM) Quintana sure has battled tonight. But good pitchers step up and he's been proving that. Will still go 6 possibly 7 innings. Last 3 innings Q very efficient. Mixing in the changeup now.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 07:59 PM) Oh darn!! It's really perfect. Good starting pitching and bad releivers blow it.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 07:04 PM) If it is Swisher that Hawk is referring to, I'm sure it's due to how much Swisher pouted towards the end of 2008. I'm not sure pouting would make you a bad guy. Sounds like he meant just a bad person.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 06:55 PM) Is Swisher the guy that Hawk is talking about being someone that wasn't a great guy? Maybe Albert Belle ?
  7. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 05:28 PM) I've got Peavy/Buerhle on is that a bad thing? No that's a cool matchup . I'm switching back and forth betwen Sox and Bears.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 05:37 PM) Cutler's a turnover machine this preseason. Yea Conte intercepts and 1st pass after Cutler throws late and down the middle a big no no and it's intercepted.
  9. Nice 1st inning and Forte with 58 yd. run and Cutler TD pass.
  10. QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 10:45 AM) Fielding mistakes are still there by the bunches, but the offense has been far more fun to watch. Still a lot of work to be done, but this team has been much more palatable lately. I watch every single game beginning to end unless the Sox are losing 13-0 by the 5th inning. They had the 1st winning homestand in 3 months, that helps enjoyment level. Love the starting pitching.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 15, 2013 -> 11:05 AM) Interesting. Stone out for good? Front office? Maybe Hawk is sicker than anyone knows but if that's the case don't think Singleton would be so happy sounding in his tweet. Nevermind.
  12. Nashville Predators aim to "Keep the Red Out" by tweaking ticket buying policy. Don't want Hawks fans. http://espn.go.com/chicago/nhl/story/_/id/...blackhawks-fans
  13. Cole (The Office): What do you think of the White Sox getting Avisail Garcia? Solid regular with all-star potential? Matt Eddy: I admit to being the high man on new White Sox CF Avisail Garcia at BA HQ. I think that when we look back in 5 years, he’ll be the best prospect who changed teams in July 2013. I love the contact rate for a young, developing power hitter, his ability to hit with power to all fields and the fact that he’s taking steps toward addressing his plate patience. I expect a future as a squarely first-division regular for Garcia. He idolizes Magglio Ordonez, and that’s a much more realistic outcome than the Miguel Cabrera comps that got tossed around last year. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/pros...th-matt-eddy-5/
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 02:21 PM) I'll be very unhappy if he signs somewhere for like $80 million and that place is not the Chicago White Sox. I'll be less annoyed if someone offers him 9 figures. If it get's that high ,and it's 50/50 right now , the Sox won't get him, $60-65 it's possible . Just my opinion.
  15. In theory Robin did the right thing asking Phegley to bunt the runners over with 2 lefties coming up. Down 2 get 2 runners in scoring position with 1 out. Phegley did his job but I'm sure most of us would rather see Pheg's get a chance to hit since it's been a little while since his early call up heroics . That's our only pleasure now hoping the kids come through when it counts not watching them bunt.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 02:07 PM) I believe I read where the Yankees LOVED him but he didn't fall to them like they had hoped. There were also rumors about Trout having huge signing bonus demands. One Angel scout was salivating over Trout . Saw him as a once in a generation talent and put his reputation on the line in voicing that opinion.
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 02:03 PM) Did we ever demand to know why we didn't take Trout? We may never know. I'm sure there were a few amongst the scouts /braintrust who probably liked Trout more but if you're not high enough in the pecking order in the braintrust then it doesn't matter. Hopefully they keep track of those who support what turns out to be the right choices for promotions.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 01:58 PM) Looked from Gameday like they were busting him inside all day. Yea every team will be following Detroits lead on that.
  19. Damn knew that up and in pitch to AV was coming after he hit that triple against Scherzer up and away and obvious Benoit was pitching him in. Couldn't lay off it.
  20. QUOTE (mike89128 @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 01:30 PM) Great move by Ventura last inning using 3 players for one at bat. Tank for Flowers and Phegley as catcher. Since Tank and Phegley both bat from right side, I don't understand. Tank and flowers both out. So you're saying Phegley should have been the PH .
  21. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 14, 2013 -> 07:20 AM) I loved that walk from Garcia more than I loved the triple. The situation called for a baserunner above all else and he took four close but definitely out of the zone pitches. Very good night for him. I threw that in there just for you while ignoring the other details how the Sox ended up with the bases loaded.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 13, 2013 -> 01:43 PM) I went Sale/Avisail/Beckham/Hawkins/Semien I'll agree with your 1st 3 after that Quintana and Santiago. Phegly and Rienzo honorable mention. I'll get excited about a prospect when they do well at AAA.
