  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 17, 2013 -> 02:38 PM) Looking for first 4-game sweep at home in four years That surely will make up for losing the World Series in 4 straight .
  2. I had to vote no. I know he has next to nothing to work with but I am really surprised he rarely pinch hits nor plays with the lineup at all. The team is bad so why go with the status quo ? Robin may think not pinch hitting can build a players confidence but the players sucking need to know their lack of production will not be tolerated and their jobs are in seriously jeopardy. Call it lack of accountability or country club atmosphere , however you want to describe it, but things need to be shook up and fear of demotion, benching, w/e has to be instilled.
  3. First White Sox pitcher since at least 1916 to ever strike out 14 batters (or more) and suffer the defeat, per southsidesox.com
  4. That Houston crowd was waiting to win the 5th game of the World Series.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2013 -> 07:58 PM) I can't believe they're in a situation where he has to bat against a RHP closer. He didnt have to ,Gimenez switch hits.
  6. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 06:44 PM) Just to clarify, I should add that by putting the ball in play, I mean if it forces the baserunner off of 1st base (and the baserunner off of 2nd if there's a guy on 1st, etc). If there is only a guy on 2nd when a ground ball is hit, he's not forced to go anywhere because no one is on 1st. So if he attempts to advance and there's a possible play on him at 3rd base, that has to be a tag. Must've posted seconds before me
  7. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 04:47 PM) You can force a baserunner (or even the batter-runner) out by stepping on the base when he's "forced" to attempt to get to the next base due to the batter putting the ball in play (hitting a ball on the ground since a flyball doesn't force the runner to run) just to make it clearer. A guy stealing isn't being forced to go anywhere, so a tag is required for the out.
  8. No one from rookie ball is ever considered for the 40 especially a dude who has done nothing at all.
  9. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 13, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) Nothing will match 2010 for a lot of reasons, mainly dealing with the rejuvenation of the franchise. Don't forget that 2010 also had Versteeg and his awesome rapping. I don't even like rap but Versteeg doing it stayed with me.
  10. GWG Shaw. Others by Bolland, Saad and Oduya. Hawk big guns nothing but I'll take the win.
  11. Hawks already doubling the amount of goals Pen's scored in 4 games and 1 more victory.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 10:02 PM) Did Shaw just say f***in'? Hahahaha He did !
  13. We can make it happen, we can make it happen , we can make it happen. yea yea yea .
  14. Hawk should feel fortunate they didn't lose. Bolland having a big game with a goal and great D too. Time for Hawks to end this !
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 07:22 PM) Like I said Boston to the PP. You edited it to put PP in later. By your original post I thought you meant goals.Pretty much everyone knows once one team gets too far ahead in PP chances it tends to even out.
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 06:55 PM) Hawks attack in 3rd like the 2nd period they will tie it up. What happened to Boston is going to get a couple very soon ?
  17. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 06:18 PM) Bad goal. Defense screwed the pooch and Crawford didn't make a doable save. No chance on that one. Lucic wide open lasered it upper corner glove side. Same as Saad goal pretty much.
  18. Very impressed with Lucic line touch passes/chemistry .Nothing gets goals faster than quick good passes. Too bad I can't say the same thing about Hawks PP.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 12, 2013 -> 09:55 AM) "We'll address it." What does that mean, Robin? Extra practice? GMAFB. I have the utmost respect for Robin Ventura as a player and a person but these are the times that define you as a manager. Do.Something.Now. Maybe he can address using Reed the day before instead of Troncoso with a 4 run lead in the 9th. Instead you get Reed pitching his 4th game in a row and giving up the game tying HR. Look in the mirror Robin.
